Representing Archeological Excavations Using the CIDOC CRM Based Conceptual Models

This paper uses CIDOC CRM and CRM-based models (CRMarchaeo, CRMsci) to represent archaeological excavation activities and the observations of archaeologists during their work in the excavation field. These observations are usually recorded in documents such as context sheets. As an application of our approach (case study), we used the records of the recent archaeological excavations in Fuwairit in Qatar, part of the Origins of Doha and Qatar Project.
