Islam in Bosnia and Hercegovina

Abstract

Bakalářká práce popisuje pozici islámské komunity v Bosně a Hercegovině během různých historických období země. Obhájeno This thesis aims to follow the position of Muslim community in Bosnia and Herzegovina throughout the country's historical changes since the 14th century until the nineties of the 20th century when the war in Bosnia nad Herzegovina broke out. It describes the formation of Muslims' political awareness and engagement in their own affairs within a different political environment and suggests causes of Islamic radicalization in the country which is evident on the relatively high numbers of Bosnian citizens leaving as foreign fighters to the Middle Eastern war fields, joining radical groups as so-called Islamic State.
