Abstract

Bureau voor Archeologie heeft een archeologisch bureauonderzoek en een booronderzoek uitgevoerd voor de uitbreiding van het bouwblok van een boerderij aan de Barneveldsestraat 36 te Renswoude. Ten behoeve van de uitbreiding is een bestemmingsplanwijziging noodzakelijk. De nieuwe inrichting van het gebied bestaat uit enkele stallen en een vierde sleufsilo.De vraagstelling van het onderzoek luidt: hoe kan rekening gehouden worden met eventuele archeologische waarden bij de voorgenomen ontwikkeling? Het onderzoek is uitgevoerd in overeenstemming met de richtlijnen van de KNA, protocollen 4002 en 4003. Voor het onderzoek zijn kaarten, databases en literatuur geraadpleegd om te komen tot een gespecificeerde archeologische verwachting van het gebied.Het plangebied ligt volgens de geomorfologische kaart op een dekzandvlakte ten oosten van een dekzandrug. De bodemkaart geeft aan dat in een deel van het plangebied sprake is van een oud bouwlanddek. Deze is door jarenlange bemesting vanaf de Late Middeleeuwen ontstaan. Eventuele archeologische waarden uit de periode Neolithicum tot en met de Late Middeleeuwen zullen hier goed bewaard zijn gebleven. In het zuidoosten van het plangebied bevinden zich beekeerdgronden. Het plangebied bevindt zich ten oosten en ten noorden van het erf van de boerderij Groot Wagensveld. Dit erf stamt uit uit de Late Middeleeuwen. In het plangebied zijn zes verkennende boringen gezet met een 7 cm Edelmanboor tot maximaal 110 cm -mv. Hieruit blijkt dat de bodemopbouw bestaat uit een A-horizont van 40 tot 70 cm dik op dekzand. In het westen en oosten van het plangebied is deze A-horizont geroerd en ligt het scherp op de natuurlijke ondergrond. De kans is klein dat in deze zones archeologische resten aanwezig zijn. In het centrale deel van het plangebied is sprake van een deels intact plaggendek met daaronder E- en B-horizonten. Om meer informatie over de archeologische potentie te krijgen, zijn in het centrale deel drie extra karterende boringen geplaatst met een 15 cm Edelmanboor. De opgeboorde grond is gezeefd. Hierbij zijn geen indicatoren gevonden die wijzen op een vindplaats.
