Wes Anderson es un director de cine reconocido a nivel mundial por el particular estilo que le imprime a cada una de sus películas. En este estudio analizamos la importancia del uso de los travellings en la construcción del estilo personal de dicho director, tomando como objeto de estudio tres películas de su amplia filmografía, Academia Rushmore (1998), Los Tenenbaums: Una familia de genios (2001) y El Gran Hotel Budapest (2014). Para alcanzar este objetivo se realizará un análisis del uso de los travellings y su aporte al desarrollo de las historias de los filmes. Los resultados señalan que este movimiento de cámara es utilizado por el estadounidense para resaltar el encuentro que tienen los protagonistas consigo mismos y darle continuidad a la historia tras la maduración sufrida por estos a lo largo de la película.

Abstract Pottery fragments from the Yumina archaeological site, Arequipa, Peru, were dated by means of thermoluminescence (TL) and optically stimulated luminescence (OSL). Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) technique was used to study the firing temperature using the iron signal (Fe3+) as a firing temperature reference. The ages of the samples were found to be between 1190 ± 30 and 1240 ± 80 years (777 ± 80 and 827 ± 30 A.D.) determined by both techniques. The firing temperature of ceramics was found to be around 550 ± 50 °C. Our study, based on the combination of TL and OSL techniques to study Yumina archaeological site pottery, will be helpful for archaeologists in Peru. With the results of this investigation, we can understand the chronology and determine the areas of dispersion and density of the archaeological occupation in the Arequipa Valley. In addition, the calculated ages are consistent with the occupation period of the Yumina archaeological site estimated by stratigraphic analysis of the potteries.

In the last twenty years of the last century, Peru lived its biggest era of violence, which ended up with over 69,000 victims. Once the conflict was finished, filmmakers –among other cultural producers– from both the Peruvian capital and from Ayacucho –which holds the most victims– started to tell what happened during those years. The Andean city has been absent in almost all films produced in Lima, while it has been the recurrent space of films produced in Ayacucho. This approach reproduces how people lived the internal armed conflict (ICA) in the Peruvian coastal and Andean regions. In this paper, we analyze the film representation of Ayacucho in two films: Sangre inocente , directed by Palito Ortega and La ultima noticia , directed by Alejandro Legaspi. The city is the place where characters are and where actions that make them face the ICA take place. This work uses a qualitative method, examines the films with matrixes which enable us to identify the key elements that configure the cities as living places of the civil population during the ICA, and analyzes how films can become a cultural artifact that allows us to build memory about the past and the urban Andean inhabitants’ life during that era.

La primera semana de octubre es tradicionalmente reconocida como la semana de la Medicina Peruana, con su efeméride principal, el cinco de octubre, que conmemora la muerte de Carrión, el estudiante símbolo de nuestra Escuela Médica. Probablemente envueltos en ese halo, pocos recuerdan celebrar el aniversario de la Facultad, el cual forzada o descuidadamente se considera que coincide con las mismas fechas. Un breve resumen de nuestra historia institucional nos permitirá identificar diferentes efemérides que debieran ser recordadas por nuestra Alma Mater, naturalmente sin disminuir el carácter icónico de la muerte de Carrión.

In Shahnameh and other epic poems, which reflect the myths, the life of primitive and ancient Iranian societies, animals and other animals are of great importance and go beyond their normal features and status. Myths that are truths of the thoughts and ideas of the first people, which are mixed with different stories and are expressed symbolically and cryptically. Epic events are usually the result of linking these myths to history. Among the animals, "cow" is one of the actors that is mentioned in Ferdowsi's Shahnameh and other epic poems, and has its own themes and themes. This article aims to examine the place of the cow in the myths and civilization of the past, as well as in the most valuable epic work, Shahnameh and five other epic poems (Garshasbnameh, Kushnameh, Bahmannameh, Banogshsabnameh and Borzoonameh) and the most important mythological themes. Extract, classify and analyze the epic and ritual of this animal. These themes are: lexical and symbolic meaning of cow, the place of cow in myths and ancient Iran, the relationship between creation and death of Kiomars with cow, cow relationship with human psyche and moon , Heroic Cow, Heroic Breeding, Sculpture or Composition, Gausser Stick,, Cow, Name of the Tower in the Sky, Cattle Totem.

AbstractObjectivesThe subsistence system of the first urban centers with monumental architecture from the North‐Central Coast of Peru, the core area for the social complexity process of Central Andes, has been debated since the late 1960s. To shed light on this aspect, we report paleodietary data from the two most important sites of the Supe Valley: Caral (3000–200 BC), the major settlement of the middle valley, and Áspero (3000–1800 BC), a notable coastal settlement. Our main objective was to test the Maritime Foundations of Andean Civilization hypothesis.Materials and MethodsStable isotope values (δ13Ccol, δ13Cap, and δ15N) from 52 individuals (70 samples: 44 bones and 26 teeth) were analyzed using conventional methods and Bayesian Mixing Models to address the role of marine products and plants in people's diet at both sites over time.ResultsOur results suggest high C3 carbohydrate consumption (55%–68% total calories in Áspero and >70% in Caral). The consumption of marine resources was stable for Áspero between 3300 and 1800 BC, but it decreased for Caral between 2550 and 200 BC.DiscussionMarine protein was more important in Áspero than in Caral over time. C3 plants, possibly tubers, formed the foundation of the diet in both sites during the Formative period (~3000–200 BC). Maize was a marginal food (<12% of calories) at least until 800 BC (29% of calories). The Maritime Foundations hypothesis does not completely account for these findings. Our results suggest the predominance of crop‐focused agriculture during the evaluated period.
