Terracing is found widely in the Mediterranean and in other hilly and mountainous regions of the world. Yet while archaeological attention to these ‘mundane’ landscape features has grown, they remain understudied, particularly in Northern Europe. Here, the authors present a multidisciplinary study of terraces in the Breamish Valley, Northumberland. The results date their construction to the Early to Middle Bronze Age, when they were built by cutting back the hillside, stone clearance and wall construction. Environmental evidence points to their use for cereal cultivation. The authors suggest that the construction and use of these terraces formed part of an Early to Middle Bronze Age agricultural intensification, which may have been both demographically and culturally driven.

In this paper we present the project Post Scriptum, which aims to build up a campaign of collection, edition and historical-linguistic study of private letters written in Portugal and Spain along the Early Modern Ages. Not only does the Post Scriptum project present a wide collection of private letters, but it also makes it available as a scholarly digital edition and as an annotated corpus. Key aspects about the development of Post Scriptum are explained in this paper, from the finding of manuscripts in historical archives to the digital edition and semi-automatic annotation of texts and their publication online. Final results and some examples that illustrate how the exploitation of this corpus works at different linguistic levels are also included.

A quantitative-bibliometric methodology was employed using the Web of Science (WoS) database. The search was performed by filtering ”subject and key terms” in both titles and abstracts of scientific papers using Boolean operators and truncations. We proceeded to work with two samples: the first one without using any kind of filter or refinement of 60 scientific papers; the second one filtering by the thematic categories with a sample of 44 scientific papers. The years of production, the sources of information, the authors and the keywords of the scientific documents were considered for the analysis of the data. From the results shown through the maps, a total of five research fronts have been inferred as the most relevant and related to the topic: neurodidactics in general; neuroscience and technology; neurodidactics and technological aspects; neuroeducation programs and pedagogy and neurodidactics. As this is a developing field of study, no major specific problems have been found, but for the time being what is obtained is a broad and general view of this area of research. Future studies that complement or expand this work could be oriented towards conducting replication research.

Therefore, the general objective of the study presented is to analyze the relationship between teaching methodology, teaching neuromethodology, educational inclusion, technology and teacher training. The research design is non-experimental, descriptive, explanatory, correlational and regression. The sample used was, by convenience, taken from university teachers from Spanish, Brazilian, Colombian and Paraguayan universities, with a number of 815 participants. The research instrument was an ad hoc Likert scale questionnaire with excellent reliability (Cronbach's Alpha, .969), which was validated in content and construct through an exploratory factor analysis. Correlation analysis and automatic linear modeling provide a first conclusion showing that neuromethodology gives scientificity to the technologies used by the teacher, being fundamental for educational inclusion. The neuroimaging examples provide an idea of the research we are developing in neuromethodology. The Ibero-American independences have provoked important historiographi- cal debates that have shown the impor- tance of the revolutionary transforma- tions that took place between the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century. The idea is to show that, in the 1820s, the revolutionary ele- ments of nineteenth-century liberalism that formed the independent republics were implemented in almost all the Ibe- ro-American territories. Thus, I am based on the concept of revolution to de- fine the processes of independence in Ibero-America, highlighting that this oc- curred from the assumptions of liberal- ism. In this way, this reflection allows us to broaden our perspective and obtain a generalization about the processes of in- dependence. With this, I show that the result of the processes of independence cannot be limited to the adoption of the republic as a form of government. The analysis, necessarily historical, must transcend towards the global under- standing of these phenomena.

For further information contact us at helpdesk@openaire.eudescription Publicationkeyboard_double_arrow_right Article 2022Publisher:FapUNIFESP (SciELO) Authors: Antonio Hernández Fernández;Antonio Hernández Fernández; The present study is based on the assumption that there is a lack of information, both nationally and internationally, on neuropedagogy, and that there is more than enough evidence of the need for a conceptualization of neuropedagogy. Therefore, the general objective is to analyze the relationship between neuroeducation, neurodidactics, teacher training and neuropedagogy. Data collection was carried out with a 27-item ad hoc Likert scale questionnaire, reliable (Cronbach's Alpha, .973), and validated in its content and construct with an exploratory factor analysis (KMO (.843), Bartlett (Sign.000), Determinant (9.416E-19)). The research sample was selected by convenience from among university teachers in Spain, Paraguay, Ecuador, Brazil and Mexico, with a total of 1264 participants. The research design is non-experimental, descriptive, explanatory, correlational and regression-based. The results show that the future of pedagogy must include neuropedagogy, evidencing: 1) the need of neuroeducation knowledge for Neuropedagogy; 2) the understanding of neurodidactics as the practical application for neuropedagogy, 3) the importance of neuro-orientation and neuro-educational organization, and 4) the need for the training of trainers. All of which is reinforced by the examples shown of neuroimaging that demonstrate the need for neuropedagogy and teacher training in neuropedagogy.

This work analyzes the mural painting The Council of Gods, made by the Portuguese artist Cyrillo Volkmar Machado for the ceiling of the ballroom from the Barão de Quintela Palace. This is perhaps his most emblematic work, since it is probably the first time that an artist, within the Portuguese mural painting art, employs a Lusitanian literary source in an interior décor cohesive with new emerging sociability concepts, which emerged in the second half of eighteenth century.

This research analyses the level of self-regulation – based on the autonomy and affective-emotional reaction dimensions – of early childhood education students (N=93) doing narrative tasks supported by the story-creation app Imagistory. To do that, a mixed methodology was employed: qualitative, through the systematic observation with attention to 2 dimensions during the narrative process; and quantitative, with a non-experimental descriptive and correlational character. According to the results, it is observed that the autonomy in learning and the affective reaction increase during the narrative task supported by the app, regardless of genre, age and tablets use. However, the extroversion and the skill level with the app are related to the increase of students’ self-regulation and affective reaction. The experiences with the app can be enriching at this educational level, as they contribute to students’ learning self-regulation, increasing their autonomy and spontaneity to carry out narrative tasks. They also favor their communicative competence through oral expression based on illustrations and foster digital competence and visual literacy. Besides, the story supported by the app offers children the opportunity to express their emotions, empathize with the characters, and increase their interest, curiosity, security and enjoyment, as they get involved in the story.
