    Authors: Şenışık, Pınar;

    This article tells the story of the construction of Turkish national identity in the early republican era by addressing two canonical novels about occupied İstanbul:Sodom ve Gomore(“Sodom and Gomorrah”) by Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu andBiz İnsanlar(“We People”) by Peyami Safa. Following the establishment of the Turkish Republic, Turkish nationalist intellectuals attempted to offer certain formulations and implemented various mechanisms to create a national self. The study aims to focus on the ways in which Karaosmanoğlu and Safa create the new Turkish national identity and deals with the questions of how occupied İstanbul was perceived by these intellectuals and how the memory of the Allied occupation of İstanbul, the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, and the National Liberation Struggle shaped Turkish elites' self-identification as well as their formulation of the national identity.

    Authors: Çetintürk, Burcu;

    Çetintürk, Burcu (Dogus Author) Tek bir anlam karşılığı olmayan ve birçok kez tanımlandırılan enstalasyon kavramı, 20. yy. da çağdaş sanat sürecinde, yeni bir ifade aracı olarak yerini almaya başlar. Enstalasyon, sözcük anlamı olarak yerleştirme ve düzenleme anlamlarına gelmesinin yanı sıra, deneyimlenen mekanı ve eser ile alıcı arasındaki birebir ilişkiyi yansıtması durumunu da içinde barındırır. Enstalasyonun, 1970’lı yıllarda bir kavram ve anlam olgusunda, sanatsal ifade biçimi olarak değerlendirilmesi, Kavramsal Sanat’ın yaygınlaşmasıyla başlar. Böylece, hem dünyadaki hem de ülkemizdeki Kavramsal sanatçılar tarafından benimsenerek, farklı ve yeni bir üslubun doğmasına neden olur. Mekan, zaman ve alıcı ile bunların birlikteliğini, kavram açısından incelemek, enstalasyonun en önemli özelliklerindendir. Diğer bir yandan, üretilen eserlere göre, bir mekan da belirlenebilmektedir. Bunu da enstalasyonun oluşumu dahilinde gözlemlemek mümkündür. Alıcı, zaman olgusunun içinde yaşarken, düzenlenen mekanın öğeleriyle etkileşime geçer. Böylece mekan, alıcının yeni deneyimler yaşamasına olanak tanır. Yine aynı yıllarda, gelenekselliğinden kopmaya başlayan ve düşünsel anlamlara ihtiyaç duyan Çağdaş Seramik Sanatı’nda mekan kaygısı var olmaya başlar. Bu durum, enstalasyonun çağdaş seramik sanatçıları tarafından benimsenmesine yol açar. Çağdaş sanat sürecinde devamlılığı olan seramik sanatı kapsamında, hem uluslararası hem de ulusal sanatçıların, seramik enstalasyon çalışmalarını görmek mümkündür. Bu örnekler doğrultusunda hazırlanan bu tezde; çağdaş seramik sanatında enstalasyon kavramı, oluşumu, gelişimi ve nedenleriyle birlikte, Kavramsal Sanat bütününde değerlendirilerek bir sonuca ulaşılmaktadır. The concept of installation what is described many times and does not have an only equivalent of meaning, starts to rank as a new means of expression in the process of contemporary art in 20th century. The installation inholds an experienced space and reflection of connection between the artwork and the observer beside to have meaning of placement and editing as a lexical meaning. Evaluating of the installation as an artistic explanandum with a concept and a meaning fact in 1970’s starts with Conceptual Art what becomes prevalent. So, it is caused to be creating a different and a new wording by the conceptual artists who gets across this situation as well as in the world and in our country. Researching unity of the space, time and observer from the point of concept is the most important distinction of the installation. On the other hand, a space can be determined according to an artwork which is produced. That is possible to observe in the formation of the installation. While the observer lives in fact of the time, it interacts with the factors of a space which is edited. So, the space enables to live a new experience of the observers. At the same years, a space concerns come into being in the Contemporary Ceramic Art which starts to get disconnected from its traditionality and needs for intellectual meanings. This situation causes to get across of the installation by contemporary ceramic artists. Within the context of the ceramic art which continues in the contemporary art is possible to see ceramic installation workarts as well as international and national artists. The concept of installation in the Contemporary Ceramic Art is reached to fruition with its formation, development and reasons by being evaluated entire Conceptual Art in this thesis which is prepared in line with these examples.
