Laser cutting of polymer materials has become a priority for the manufacturing industry, mainly due to the constantly growing demand for these materials. The article discusses the effect of the laser beam on the width of the cut using lenses with different focal lengths, under different working conditions, on samples made of PMMA polymer material plates. For the experiment, the samples were produced using an ILS 3NM laser device, a CO2, with a wavelength of 10.6 μm and with maximum power 100 W, maximum feed speed 1524 mm · s-1. For the selected samples, it was studied how the dimension defined by the machining software differ from the dimension created by the machining.

In recent years, however, the hypothesis has been raised that Kundera was the true author of a fourth play, Juro Jánošík, first performed in a 1974 production under the name of Karel Steigerwald, who was Kundera’s student at the time. In this study, we make use of supervised machine learning to settle the question of authorship attribution in the case of Juro Jánošík, with results strongly supporting the hypothesis of Kundera’s authorship.

The paper compares the implementation of vouchers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Its objective is to compare the policy approaches to innovation vouchers in two countries in Central Europe which have a shared history, but which, at some point, went their own way. Vouchers in Czechia have a longer tradition and were first initiated at the regional level. In Slovakia, vouchers were only implemented at the national level and with a lower budget. The research confirmed the persistent differences in the innovation policies and the more proactive approach in Czechia. The paper's contribution also lies in the focus on transitive economies, which have received less research attention so far. Implications for the design of innovation policies in countries with emerging innovation systems are included.

Vizitačné protokoly často ponúkajú neobyčajne zaujímavý náhľad do ich životov, niekedy o dosť farebnejších a dobrodružnejších, než by sme očakávali. Táto štúdia sumarizuje základné informácie o konaní vizitácií a o tom, čo sa môžeme dozvedieť z vizitačných protokolov o pití v stredoveku. Hlavný prameň tejto štúdie, vizitačný protokol pražského arcidiakona Pavla z Janovic (1379-1382), je doplnený o niekoľko ďalších príkladov. Parish visitation records are considered one of the most interesting and revealing sources for the study of everyday life in the Middle Ages. No wonder, that sometimes the reader might find in their pages people drinking alcoholic beverages, visiting taverns, playing dice and generally enjoying their leisure time. As might be expected from the nature of these sources, many of them were parish priests, vicars, chaplains or other clergymen. Some were even responsible for other more serious violations of ecclesiastical or civil law while intoxicated. Visitation records often provide a very revealing insight into their lives, sometimes much more colourful and adventurous than we would expect. This study summarizes basic information on how parish visitations were conducted and what we can learn from visitation records about drinking in the Middle Ages. The main source of this study, the visitation record of the Prague archdeacon Paul of Janovicz (1379–1382), is supplemented by several other examples.
