Libraries worldwide are investing a significant portion of their resources in digitising their collections. Digitised formats are immensely valuable for researchers but may seem dry and unappealing to broader audiences, particularly when the original content was intended for children. This talk will present the preliminary research conducted on digitised formats of popular children's literature found in specialised libraries, focussing on the models provided by two institutions: the British Library's "Turning the Pages" software and the National Library of Spain's "Madgazine," used in the interactive editions of Don Quixote and Leonardo da Vinci’s Madrid Codex. The discussion will revolve around the specific workflow we tested for creating a digitally enhanced edition of a collection of stories entitled "Plage of Dragons," published in 1923 and based on the Spanish adaptations of Edith Nesbit’s tales. AbstractGLAM organizations have been digitizing their collections and making them available for the public for several decades. Recent methods for publishing digital collections such as “GLAM Labs” and “Collections as Data” provide guidelines for the application of computational methods to reuse the contents of cultural heritage institutions in innovative and creative ways. Jupyter Notebooks have become a powerful tool to foster use of these collections by digital humanities researchers. Based on previous approaches for quality assessment, which have been adapted for cultural heritage collections, this paper proposes a methodology for assessing the quality of projects based on Jupyter Notebooks published by relevant GLAM institutions. A list of projects based on Jupyter Notebooks using cultural heritage data has been evaluated. Common features and best practices have been identified. A detailed analysis, that can be useful for organizations interested in creating their own Jupyter Notebooks projects, has been provided. Open issues requiring further work and additional avenues for exploration are outlined.

A report on the project "Identifying PhD students' training needs" conducted by the DARIAH Working Group Community Engagement in the context of a project grant by the DARIAH-EU Working Group Funding Scheme.

The idea behind the DARIAH Research Data Management Working Group is to tackle the challenges associated with the implementation of new FAIR and open data sharing mandates, and offer a unique space for collaboration among representatives of all major arts and humanities disciplines, cultural heritage professionals, and data management experts. More specifically, we are building a knowledge hub for new professionals around data management support (data managers, data stewards, open science officers, subject librarians etc.) from across DARIAH’s national hubs to exchange across the discipline-specific dimension. During our meetings, the conflict between the need for and emergence of new data support roles, and the lack of any established domain-specific curriculum to train them, or, in some cases, even a lack of established good practices, became a recurrent topic which we aimed to address. Instead of embarking on the giant endeavour of curating an exhaustive and authoritative textbook for research data support specialists who work in the arts and humanities field, our idea is to give a snapshot of our own activities in the field and highlight the valuable work of others. Accordingly, the present publication can be read as the written form of a roundtable (or town hall) discussion where experts from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Poland, and Spain have come and sat together to report and discuss past or ongoing work, share their fields of interests and provide honest and critical reflections, reveal how their institutions have developed capacities for data support, share their own stories of becoming data support professionals in the domain, and, most importantly, explore together what solutions, tools, practices, and other resources could be used and could be generalised across borders and disciplines. <br> This publication is the result of the Working Group’s first writing sprint, held between the 23 and 24 June 2022 at the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IBL PAN), in the Staszic Palace. The event was made possible by the DARIAH third Working Groups’ (WG) Funding Scheme Call for the years 2021–2023 and the resulting grant, which was administered by the Digital Humanities Centre at the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IBL PAN).

The poster showcases the publication "Research Data Management for Arts and Humanities: Integrating Voices of the Community" issued in 2023 by the DARIAH (Digital Research Infrastructure for the Humanities and Arts) Working Group on Research Data Management. The collective, open-access volume brings together case studies and consolidated experiences with a strong pan-European approach.

OPERAS Innovation Lab provides targeted guidance for scholars seeking to disseminate their outputs in an innovative way. This poster presents three case studies of workflows for innovative scholarly communication: 1) toolkit/anthology; 2) interdisciplinary online journal; 3) software services. The workflows will serve as blueprints for SSH scholars.

The TEITOK REST API lets you interact with your corpus remotely - to upload documents in various formats - automatically converted to TEI/XML; to render search results; to run an NLP pipeline on the server; or download the content of corpus document, treat that content locally with local NLP tools or manual annotation tools, and then upload the results back to the server, where the new or corrected annotations will be incorporated into the original TEI/XML document without destroying any of the potentially complex annotations already in the document.
