    Abstract The problem of language contacts has two main perspectives: as an interaction of several codes being quasi-independent actors and as interaction of two languages in the consciousness of a concrete individual – mostly the mother tongue and a foreign language. In this article, the second approach is advocated. As the mother tongue (“own language”) acts the Russian, and the German – as the foreign (“alien”) language. With language contacts of this kind (foreign language acquisition, interlingual/intercultural communication, translation), certain differences between the contact languages come to light. They are described from the point of view of contrastive linguoculturology – a discipline that is located in the overlapping zone between conventional contrastive linguistics and linguoculturology, which has been developing rapidly in recent times, especially in the former USSR. The notion linguocultural “contrast” is proposed for the role of the basic unit of this discipline: it is binary and composed of a “specialx” and a “lacunaey” (contrastx↔y = specialx + lacunaey). Three types of contrasts are distinguished: (1) system-linguistic, (2) discursive and (3) cultural.

    Abstract This article presents, as a form of opening and outline of problems for the journal issue “Language Contacts/Sprachkontakte”, a synthesized research report concerning processes, results, and consequences of language contact. It systematically summarizes, describes, and interprets research directions, concepts and results of the canonical works of contact linguistics as well as modern, e.g. poststructuralist research. Furthermore, this article serves as a form of think piece that strives to provide impulses for future research. At the center of the description stand the consequences of language contact as a) current results of language contact (e.g. code-switching) and b) specific traces of language contact within a language system that start synchronically but are also diachronically describable (e.g. borrowing).

    Abstract Der Beitrag nimmt Werbesprache von Flüchtlingen im Shanghai der 1930er Jahre in den Blick. Dazu gehörte v. a. deutschsprachige Infrastruktur in Form von Läden, Restaurants, Dienstleistungen etc. (Szurawitzki, Michael. 2017. Deutsch in Shanghai gestern und heute. Zielsprache Deutsch 44(2). 3–17).

    Abstract Der Beitrag untersucht, welche Rolle Code-Switching in Texten von Reichsbürgern spielt.

    Abstract On the basis of a general model of professional communication which differs from concepts of professional language, a new model is developed which consistently integrates their multilingualism. This takes into account various individual languages such as German, English or Chinese as well as professionally relevant varieties such as every day and educational language including various languages for specific purposes in individual professions or professional contexts as well as the corresponding competences of the people working in these professions or contexts. Such a model not only provides an exhaustive and detailed coverage of plurilingual professional communication for itself, it also allows for numerous applications in the fields of language planning, language policy and language didactics.

    Abstract The article deals with the study of structural and semantic features of the German professional language of architecture and construction. The study is based on the main principles of structural-semantic linguistic paradigm and represents the modeling of terminology in the form of a thesaurus with its multilevel classification structure. Achieving the main goal involves the selection of various structural types of terms and phrases, the analysis of key terms and their semantic fields and the study of possible logical-semantic relations in the proposed German professional language. The study was conducted in four stages. The first stage included an explanation of the main approaches to the study of both terminological systems of professional languages and individual terms. The second stage consisted in the analysis of logical-conceptual relations between terms, such as hypero-hyponymy, subcontracting as well as relations concerning the localization of the object, its purpose, etc. At this stage, terminology is considered as a thesaurus, taking into account the specifics of the organization of the studied branch of knowledge and the lexical-semantic field of the key terms of architecture and construction. The third stage was based on the structural and morphological analysis of the terms and included a description of structural models of terms. The last stage concerned the formulation of the conclusions of our study.

    Abstract Der Beitrag nimmt Werbesprache von Flüchtlingen im Shanghai der 1930er Jahre in den Blick. Gut 18.000 Deutschsprachige, mehrheitlich Wiener Jüd:innen, flüchteten vor der NS-Diktatur in das bereits damals sehr internationale, visumfrei erreichbare Shanghai und bauten sich dort ein neues Leben auf Zeit auf. Dazu gehörte v. a. deutschsprachige Infrastruktur in Form von Läden, Restaurants, Dienstleistungen etc. (Szurawitzki, Michael. 2017. Deutsch in Shanghai gestern und heute. Zielsprache Deutsch 44(2). 3–17). Diese Infrastruktur wurde in den schnell parallel entstandenen Shanghaier deutschsprachigen Exilzeitungen und -zeitschriften beworben. Zahlreiche dieser Periodika sind über die Bibliothek des Leo Baeck Institute digital einsehbar (Open Access). Nach einer Einführung nebst Forschungsfragen (1.) wird der Forschungsstand zum jüdischen Exil in Shanghai skizziert (2.): Es ergibt sich eine Forschungslücke, die mit der hier vorgestellten Studie geschlossen werden soll (ausgehend von einschlägigen Vorarbeiten zur Gelben Post, Szurawitzki, Michael. 2021. Umworbene Flüchtlinge – Eine linguistische Analyse von Werbesprache im Shanghaier Exilperiodikum Gelbe Post. In Csaba Földes (ed.), Kontaktvarietäten des Deutschen im Ausland, 495–507. Tübingen: Narr Francke Attempto). Danach wird darauf eingegangen, aus welchen digital vorhandenen Periodika sich das Korpus der Werbeanzeigen zusammensetzt (3.). Im Hauptteil des Beitrages (4.) wird an die zu leistenden Analysen von Werbeanzeigen herangeführt. Es werden quantitative wie qualitative Vorarbeiten geleistet und exemplarische Aspekte des Sprachkontakts analysiert. Eine Zusammenfassung nebst Ausblick und Perspektiven für die weiteren Analysen (5.) beschließt den eigentlichen Beitrag. Als Anhang steht eine Übersicht aller auszuwertenden digital vorliegenden Periodika.

    Abstract Der Beitrag untersucht, welche Rolle Code-Switching in Texten von Reichsbürgern spielt. Untersuchungsgrundlage dafür ist ein Korpus von 249 Texten, die aus der Internet-Domäne s-h-a-e-f.de entnommen sind. Zunächst wird dieses Korpus näher beschrieben, danach wird quantitativ ausgewertet, wie viele dieser Texte Code-Switching aufweisen. Dabei zeigt sich, dass in mehr als einem Drittel der Texte Code-Switching nachweisbar ist. Bei der näheren Betrachtung der betreffenden Texte wird deutlich, dass ein Teil der Fälle von Code-Switching auf Probleme bei der (automatischen) Übersetzung US-amerikanischer Textvorlagen zurückzuführen ist. Diese Texte wurden von der weiteren Untersuchung ausgeschlossen. Bei den verbleibenden Texten ließ sich in vielen Fällen feststellen, dass Code-Switching an exponierten Positionen auftritt. Dies lässt darauf schließen, dass Code-Switching hier für die Erregung von Aufmerksamkeit, aber auch für die Betonung von Authentizität und Internationalität eingesetzt wird. Weitere Belege für die Nutzung von Code-Switching lassen sich auf die üblichen Funktionen von Code-Switching zurückführen, wie z.B. Ausfüllen eines Bezeichnungsbedarfes, Erklärung, Glaubhaftmachung der eigenen Aussagen usw. Darüber hinaus kann nachgewiesen werden, dass Code-Switching auch gezielt eingesetzt wird, um die ideologischen Botschaften der Reichsbürger (insbesondere die Ablehnung der staatlichen Existenz der Bundesrepublik Deutschland) zu unterstützen.

    Zusammenfassung Fachliche Kommunikation erfüllt zahlreiche Funktionen. Um diese systematisch zu erfassen, sind sie an einem allgemeinen Modell fachlicher Kommunikation festzumachen, indem jedem seiner Elemente eine eigene kommunikative Funktion zugewiesen wird. Nach dieser Methode, die (ohne besondere Berücksichtigung fachlicher Kommunikation) bei Karl Bühler zum Ansatz von drei und bei Roman Jakobson zum Ansatz von sechs kommunikativen Funktionen führt, können schließlich neun bzw. elf fachkommunikative Funktionen unterschieden werden, die letztlich auch auf den Bereich der allgemeinen Kommunikation zu übertragen sind: Eine symptomatische, eine appellative, eine referentielle, eine epistemische, eine poetische, eine phatische, eine semiotische, eine diskursive und eine situative bzw. soziale oder kulturelle Funktion. Diese Funktionen werden in diesem Beitrag vorgestellt und erläutert sowie am Beispiel einer Fortbildung im IT-Bereich veranschaulicht.

  • Authors: Svitlana Kiyko; Yevheniia Rubana;
