    Authors: Eugenia Mattei;

    En el año 2019 el filólogo italiano Pasquale Stoppelli publicó una investigación minuciosa en la cual, con argumentos probatorios, otorga a Nicolás Maquiavelo la autoría de Epistola della peste que había sido originalmente atribuida a Lorenzo Strozzi, un literato perteneciente a una de las más ricas e influyentes familias florentinas2. Su estudio introductorio, así como las notas al texto de Maquiavelo, serán un insumo importante para el presente trabajo introductorio y para la primera traducción al español de la carta.

    Authors: Paloma de la Nuez Sánchez-Cascado;

    Los liberales de todas las épocas han concedido siempre una gran importancia a las ideas en la historia y, en ese sentido, Lord Acton no es ninguna excepción. Al contrario, defendió en sus escritos que las ideas son fuerzas históricas muy poderosas que mueven el mundo. Son las causas de los sucesos políticos y, entre todas ellas, la más importante es la idea de libertad. Una idea moral entendida como libertad de conciencia de la que nacen todas las demás.Precisamente, por el reconocimiento del protagonismo de las ideas en las sociedades humanas, se le considera hoy en día uno de los mayores exponentes de la disciplina Historia de las ideas políticas. Sin embargo, encontramos en el pensamiento histórico de Acton una serie de afirmaciones polémicas y contradictorias. Reconoce la imperfección de nuestro conocimiento, la complejidad de la historia y de las ideas que contribuyen a explicarla, a la vez que hace del historiador un juez inflexible, objetivo e imparcial que ha de juzgar, no sólo los hechos históricos y las ideas que los provocaron, sino también a los historiadores que los narraron. Hasta qué punto es compatible la visión liberal de la historia con ese historiador devenido en juez al que se le supone el conocimiento para discernir, nada más y nada menos, entre el bien y el mal, sigue siendo una incógnita. Liberals of all ages have always attached a great deal of importance to ideas in history, and Lord Acton is no exception. On the contrary, he argued that ideas are very powerful historical forces that shape the world. They are the causes of political events, and the most important of them all is the idea of freedom. This is a moral idea, understood as a freedom of conscience from which all others are born. Today he is considered one of the leading exponents of the discipline of History of Political Ideas precisely because of his recognition of the leading role played by ideas in human societies. However, Acton's historical thought contains a series of controversial and contradictory statements. He recognises the imperfection of our knowledge and the complexity of history and the ideas that help to explain it, while simultaneously making the historian an inflexible, objective and impartial judge who has to judge not only historical events and the ideas that caused them, but also the historians who narrated them. The extent to which the liberal view of history is compatible with that of a historian as a judge who is assumed to have sufficient knowledge to judge between nothing less than good and evil remains unknown.

    Authors: Fernández Leost, José Andrés;

    La lectura del profesor Fernando Vallespín sobre el Leviatán de Thomas Hobbes resulta tan heterodoxa como oportuna para entender las “guerras ideológicas” del presente, en tanto incide en la faceta retórica de su lenguaje y su sustrato pasional, así como revela el trasfondo de un dilema, inherente al liberalismo, que hoy vuelve a reproducirse: el de la conciliación entre el pluralismo axiológico y la adhesión a un conjunto de principios universales. En la condición de axioma del instinto de supervivencia en Hobbes, es decir, en la prevalencia del miedo como presupuesto de partida, que en sí no obedece a decisión racional alguna, probablemente radique un motivo crucial para que Hobbes no descartase acudir al lenguaje emocional. La complejidad reside en la intromisión de Hobbes en la “guerra de las plumas”, abierta a un pluralismo que se repliega en defensa del absolutismo y la cientificidad.

    Authors: Javier Redondo Rodelas;

    Lord Acton se mostró partidario de la causa Confederada. Lo hizo guiado por su sentido de la Historia y del poder: los ideales tienen una potencia transformadora y los estados del Sur proclamaron la secesión movidos por la reivindicación de los principios originales de la Revolución norteamericana frente a la tiranía de la mayoría. Acton no entra en interpretaciones jurídicas acerca de la materialización del derecho de secesión, pero explica el significado efectivo de la noción de soberanía y la incluye entre los inalienables derechos de los estados. Acton, celoso de preservar los contrapesos que neutralicen o limiten la tendencia hacia el despotismo de la mayoría y del “Gobierno General”, considera que los estados del Sur lucharon por un ideal: proteger sus derechos sobre la base de la vieja Constitución y por una nueva Unión. Lord Acton took sided with the Confederate cause. He did it guided by his sense of the History and the power: ideals have a transforming power and the South states proclaimed his secession moved by the vindication of the original principles of the North American Revolution against the tyranny of the majority. Acton does not go into legal interpretations about the materialization of the right of secession, but explains the effective meaning of the notion of sovereignty and includes it among the unalienable states’ rights. Acton, jealous of preserving the balances that neutralize or limit the tendency towards the despotism of the majority and of the "General Government", considers that the South states fought for an ideal: they did it to protect their rights on the basis of the old Constitution and for a new Union.

    Authors: Josep Escrig Rosa;

    En este trabajo se analiza el recurso a la escatología y al universo profético-apocalíptico de orientación antiliberal en 1821, año de la consumación de la independencia de México. Las diversas fuentes utilizadas revelan la importancia que adquirieron los discursos sibilinos en la transición del Virreinato al Imperio, así como su potencial movilizador. Se argumenta que estos sirvieron para denunciar el liberalismo revolucionario, fomentar la alternativa emancipadora y proponer lecturas mesiánicas renovadas. A través de esos tres aspectos se exploran las posibilidades del pensamiento escatológico y del marco profético a la hora de comprender los cambios político-religiosos del periodo de las independencias hispanoamericanas. This paper analyses the use of eschatology and the prophetic-apocalyptic universe of anti-liberal thinkers in 1821, the year of the consummation of Mexican independence. Many sources reveal the importance and mobilizing potential of sibylline discourses during the transition from Viceroyalty to Empire. I show they served to denounce revolutionary liberalism, promote an emancipatory alternative, and propose renewed messianic readings. I use these three aspects to explore the possibilities of eschatological thinking and the prophetic framework for understanding the political and religious changes of the Spanish-American independence period.

    Authors: Enrique Wulff;

    International audience; The National Library of Spain (NLS, Biblioteca Nacional de España [BNE]) for the target audience of digital humanities (DH), within the last two decades, has taken up major challenges to be into line with other main national libraries (France, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Germany, and the Library of Congress). The chapter presents NLS's success in the emerging digital scholarship and BNElab Digital Humanities (DH) projects and digital editions (e.g., the Leonardo da Vinci Madrid I & II Codices or Quixote), demonstrating the most necessary steps of libraries to take in the digital age, especially when DH is forming the mainstream and obtaining momentum. The importance of the NLS and its patrimony is in line with its commendatory policy of collaborating with a wide variety of DH projects, and with that of making its digital patrimony freely available. Through a case study of the opening up of cultural heritage data for the arts and humanities (A&H), NLS is challenged from its Semantic Web vision to find the expertise required by the key issues of contemporary digital humanities.; La Biblioteca Nacional de España (BNE) para el público objetivo de las humanidades digitales (HD), en las últimas dos décadas ha asumido grandes retos para estar a la altura de otras grandes bibliotecas nacionales (Francia, Países Bajos, Reino Unido, Alemania y la Biblioteca del Congreso). El capítulo presenta el éxito de la BNE en los proyectos de cultura digital, BNElab y ediciones digitales (por ejemplo, los Códices Leonardo da Vinci Madrid I y II o el Quijote), presentando los pasos necesarios que las bibliotecas deben tomar en la era digital, especialmente cuando las HD están convirtiéndose en la corriente principal y ganando impulso. La importancia de la BNE y su patrimonio está en línea con su política de colaborar con una amplia variedad de proyectos de HD, y con la de hacer que su patrimonio digital esté disponible gratuitamente. A través de un estudio de caso de la apertura de los datos del patrimonio cultural para las artes y las humanidades (A&H), la BNE se enfrenta al desafío de su visión de la Web Semántica para encontrar la experiencia requerida por los temas clave de las humanidades digitales contemporáneas.; La Bibliothèque nationale d'Espagne (Biblioteca Nacional de España [BNE]) pour le public cible des humanités numériques (HN), au cours des deux dernières décennies, a relevé des défis majeurs pour s'aligner sur les autres grandes bibliothèques nationales (France, Pays-Bas, Royaume-Uni, Allemagne et Bibliothèque du Congrès). Le chapitre présente le succès de la BNE dans les projets émergents de culture numérique et de BNElab et les éditions numériques (par exemple, les codex Leonardo da Vinci Madrid I & II ou le Quichotte), montrant les étapes les plus nécessaires pour les bibliothèques à suivre à l'ère numérique, en particulier lorsque les HN forment le courant dominant et prennent de l'ampleur. L'importance de la BNE et de son patrimoine s'inscrit dans sa politique de collaboration avec une grande variété de projets HN, et dans celle de mise à disposition gratuite de son patrimoine numérique. À travers une étude de cas sur l'ouverture des données du patrimoine culturel pour les arts et les humanités (A&H), la une analyse atentive de la BNE révèle sa vision du Web sémantique pour trouver l'expertise requise par les enjeux clés des humanités numériques contemporaines.

    This paper presents KD SENSO-MERGER, a novel Knowledge Discovery (KD) architecture that is capable of semantically integrating heterogeneous data from various sources of structured and unstructured data (i.e. geolocations, demographic, socio-economic, user reviews, and comments). This goal drives the main design approach of the architecture. It works by building internal representations that adapt and merge knowledge across multiple domains, ensuring that the knowledge base is continuously updated. To deal with the challenge of integrating heterogeneous data, this proposal puts forward the corresponding solutions: (i) knowledge extraction, addressed via a plugin-based architecture of knowledge sensors; (ii) data integrity, tackled by an architecture designed to deal with uncertain or noisy information; (iii) scalability, this is also supported by the plugin-based architecture as only relevant knowledge to the scenario is integrated by switching-off non-relevant sensors. Also, we minimize the expert knowledge required, which may pose a bottleneck when integrating a fast-paced stream of new sources. As proof of concept, we developed a case study that deploys the architecture to integrate population census and economic data, municipal cartography, and Google Reviews to analyze the socio-economic contexts of educational institutions. The knowledge discovered enables us to answer questions that are not possible through individual sources. Thus, companies or public entities can discover patterns of behavior or relationships that would otherwise not be visible and this would allow extracting valuable information for the decision-making process. This research is supported by the University of Alicante, Spain, the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, the Generalitat Valenciana, Spain, and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the following funding: At the national level, the following projects were granted: TRIVIAL (PID2021-122263OB-C22); and CORTEX (PID2021-123956OB-I00), funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and, as appropriate, by ‘‘ERDF A way of making Europe’’, by the ‘‘European Union’’ or by the ‘‘European Union NextGenerationEU/PRTR’’. At regional level, the Generalitat Valenciana (Conselleria d’Educacio, Investigacio, Cultura i Esport), Spain, granted funding for NL4DISMIS (CIPROM/2021/21).

    Authors: González Borbolla, Javier Alejandro;

    Partiendo de la premisa de la crisis global del desarraigo, este trabajo realiza un análisis de factores universales que han detonado un crecimiento de este fenómeno, y de cómo han impactado en el arte contemporáneo; provocado en parte por las características de la globalización. Se propone una serie de ejemplos de artistas que en las últimas décadas lo han sentido en su propia piel, causado principalmente por el exilio. Los catalizadores de mi propio desarraigo se desentrañan desde un posicionamiento autobiográfico (y auto-etnográfico), desde la contextualización de mi escenario socio-político y desde la asimilación de mis vivencias personales. La práctica del arte de acción, en este entorno se convierte en medio, arma, y objeto de disentimiento. En este aspecto vuelvo a mis orígenes para explicar, desde la necesidad personal de hacer performance, cómo el propio medio ofrece características vinculadas a la disidencia. Starting from the premise of the global crisis of uprooting, this work analyzes the universal factors that have triggered the growth of this phenomenon and how they have impacted contemporary art, provoked in part by the characteristics of globalization. It proposes a series of examples of artists who in recent decades have felt it in their own skin, caused mainly by exile. The catalysts of my own uprooting are unraveled from an autobiographical (and auto-ethnographic) position, from the contextualization of my socio-political scenario and from the assimilation of my personal experiences Action art practice, in this environment becomes a means, a weapon, and an object of dissent. In this aspect I return to my origins to explain, from the personal need to make performance, how the medium itself offers characteristics linked to dissidence. Universidad de Sevilla.     Authors: Martínez, Enzo Alexander;

    [ES] El desperdicio de alimentos es un problema generalizado que afecta a varias etapas de la cadena de distribución de alimentos. En particular, el desperdicio de alimentos doméstico representa una parte significativa del desperdicio de alimentos a nivel mundial, ya que las familias desechan anualmente grandes cantidades de alimentos que podrían haber sido consumidos. Los hogares pueden ahorrar dinero y contribuir a la reducción de desperdicios mejorando sus prácticas de gestión de inventario de alimentos y compras de comestibles. Con la adopción generalizada de teléfonos inteligentes, casi todos tienen acceso a una variedad de aplicaciones de gestión de inventario de cocina (KIMAs, por sus siglas en inglés). Estas aplicaciones permiten a los usuarios administrar su inventario de alimentos, además de hacer seguimiento a las fechas de vencimiento, las fechas de compra y el uso, lo que facilita y vuelve más eficaz la reducción del desperdicio de alimentos en el hogar. Aunque estas aplicaciones ofrecen numerosos beneficios, todavía hay margen para la mejora. La industria debe mejorar la interfaz de usuario y las capacidades de estas aplicaciones para atraer y retener a más usuarios, permitiendo así que más hogares aprovechen estas tecnologías y se conviertan en participantes activos en los esfuerzos de reducción del desperdicio de alimentos. El objetivo principal de esta tesis es investigar el potencial de la inteligencia artificial (IA) para mejorar una aplicación de gestión de inventario de cocina, con un enfoque en la facilidad de uso y, lo más importante, en la eficiente recuperación de información de datos de alimentos. Para lograr este objetivo, se explorarán y evaluarán diversas tecnologías impulsadas por IA y aprendizaje automático, con el propósito de desarrollar e implementar una KIMA que minimice el tiempo requerido por los usuarios para ingresar datos de alimentos en la aplicación. Empleando tecnologías de AI como el Reconocimiento Óptico de Caracteres o el Procesamiento del Lenguaje Natural, las aplicaciones de gestión de inventario de cocina pueden mejorar significativamente sus interfaces de usuario y funcionalidad. Esto atraería a más usuarios fieles y daría a los hogares la oportunidad de participar activamente en reducir el desperdicio de alimentos, contribuyendo así a un futuro más ecológico y eficiente. [EN] Food waste is a pervasive problem that impacts various stages of the food distribution chain. Domestic food waste represents a significant portion of global food waste, as families discard substantial amounts of food annually that could have otherwise been consumed. Households can save money and contribute to waste reduction by improving their food inventory and grocery management practices. With the widespread adoption of smartphones, nearly everyone has access to a range of Kitchen Inventory Management Apps (KIMAs). These apps enable users to manage their food and grocery inventory while keeping track of expiration dates, purchase dates, and usage, thereby making the reduction of household food waste more manageable and effective. Although these apps provide numerous benefits, there remains ample opportunity for improvement. The industry must enhance these apps' user interface and capabilities to attract and retain more users, empowering more households to leverage these technologies and participate actively in food waste reduction efforts. The primary objective of this thesis is to investigate the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for enhancing a kitchen inventory management app, focusing on ease of use and, most importantly, efficient food data information retrieval. To achieve this goal, various AI and Machine Learning-powered technologies will be explored and evaluated, aiming to develop and implement a KIMA that minimises the time required for users to input food data into the application. By harnessing the potential of AI technologies like Optical Character Recognition and Natural Language Processing, kitchen inventory management apps can significantly improve their user interface and capabilities. This would attract and retain more users and empower households to actively participate in reducing food waste and making more sustainable consumption choices, contributing to a greener and more efficient future.

    [ES] Esta tesis explora el potencial de la inteligencia artificial en la educación mediante la creación de una aplicación que transcribe vídeos y responde a preguntas relacionadas con los vídeos utilizando modelos de código abierto. La plataforma basada en IA permite a los educadores subir clases en línea o vídeos educativos, que luego se transcriben automáticamente. Los usuarios también pueden hacer preguntas relacionadas con las transcripciones y recibir respuestas con la marca de tiempo en la que se da la explicación. Además, el sistema ofrece una interfaz de programación de aplicaciones (API) para facilitar a los centros educativos la implementación de la aplicación. La tesis pretende demostrar cómo la inteligencia artificial puede mejorar la calidad de la educación y reducir costes utilizando tecnología de código abierto. [EN] This thesis explores the potential of artificial intelligence in education by creating an application that transcribes videos and answers questions related to the videos using open-source models. The AI-based platform allows educators to upload online classes or educational videos, which are then automatically transcribed. Users can also ask questions related to the transcriptions and receive answers with the timestamp where the explanation is given. Additionally, the system offers an application programming interface (API) to make it easier for educational institutions to implement the application. The thesis aims to demonstrate how artificial intelligence can enhance the quality of education and reduce costs by utilizing open-source technology.

    En el año 2019 el filólogo italiano Pasquale Stoppelli publicó una investigación minuciosa en la cual, con argumentos probatorios, otorga a Nicolás Maquiavelo la autoría de Epistola della peste que había sido originalmente atribuida a Lorenzo Strozzi, un literato perteneciente a una de las más ricas e influyentes familias florentinas2. Su estudio introductorio, así como las notas al texto de Maquiavelo, serán un insumo importante para el presente trabajo introductorio y para la primera traducción al español de la carta.

    Authors: Paloma de la Nuez Sánchez-Cascado;

    Authors: Fernández Leost, José Andrés;

    La lectura del profesor Fernando Vallespín sobre el Leviatán de Thomas Hobbes resulta tan heterodoxa como oportuna para entender las “guerras ideológicas” del presente, en tanto incide en la faceta retórica de su lenguaje y su sustrato pasional, así como revela el trasfondo de un dilema, inherente al liberalismo, que hoy vuelve a reproducirse: el de la conciliación entre el pluralismo axiológico y la adhesión a un conjunto de principios universales. En la condición de axioma del instinto de supervivencia en Hobbes, es decir, en la prevalencia del miedo como presupuesto de partida, que en sí no obedece a decisión racional alguna, probablemente radique un motivo crucial para que Hobbes no descartase acudir al lenguaje emocional. La complejidad reside en la intromisión de Hobbes en la “guerra de las plumas”, abierta a un pluralismo que se repliega en defensa del absolutismo y la cientificidad.

    Authors: Javier Redondo Rodelas;

    Authors: Josep Escrig Rosa;

    En este trabajo se analiza el recurso a la escatología y al universo profético-apocalíptico de orientación antiliberal en 1821, año de la consumación de la independencia de México. Las diversas fuentes utilizadas revelan la importancia que adquirieron los discursos sibilinos en la transición del Virreinato al Imperio, así como su potencial movilizador. Se argumenta que estos sirvieron para denunciar el liberalismo revolucionario, fomentar la alternativa emancipadora y proponer lecturas mesiánicas renovadas. A través de esos tres aspectos se exploran las posibilidades del pensamiento escatológico y del marco profético a la hora de comprender los cambios político-religiosos del periodo de las independencias hispanoamericanas. This paper analyses the use of eschatology and the prophetic-apocalyptic universe of anti-liberal thinkers in 1821, the year of the consummation of Mexican independence. Many sources reveal the importance and mobilizing potential of sibylline discourses during the transition from Viceroyalty to Empire. I show they served to denounce revolutionary liberalism, promote an emancipatory alternative, and propose renewed messianic readings. I use these three aspects to explore the possibilities of eschatological thinking and the prophetic framework for understanding the political and religious changes of the Spanish-American independence period.

    Authors: Enrique Wulff;

    International audience; The National Library of Spain (NLS, Biblioteca Nacional de España [BNE]) for the target audience of digital humanities (DH), within the last two decades, has taken up major challenges to be into line with other main national libraries (France, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Germany, and the Library of Congress). The chapter presents NLS's success in the emerging digital scholarship and BNElab Digital Humanities (DH) projects and digital editions (e.g., the Leonardo da Vinci Madrid I & II Codices or Quixote), demonstrating the most necessary steps of libraries to take in the digital age, especially when DH is forming the mainstream and obtaining momentum. The importance of the NLS and its patrimony is in line with its commendatory policy of collaborating with a wide variety of DH projects, and with that of making its digital patrimony freely available. Through a case study of the opening up of cultural heritage data for the arts and humanities (A&H), NLS is challenged from its Semantic Web vision to find the expertise required by the key issues of contemporary digital humanities.; La Biblioteca Nacional de España (BNE) para el público objetivo de las humanidades digitales (HD), en las últimas dos décadas ha asumido grandes retos para estar a la altura de otras grandes bibliotecas nacionales (Francia, Países Bajos, Reino Unido, Alemania y la Biblioteca del Congreso). El capítulo presenta el éxito de la BNE en los proyectos de cultura digital, BNElab y ediciones digitales (por ejemplo, los Códices Leonardo da Vinci Madrid I y II o el Quijote), presentando los pasos necesarios que las bibliotecas deben tomar en la era digital, especialmente cuando las HD están convirtiéndose en la corriente principal y ganando impulso. La importancia de la BNE y su patrimonio está en línea con su política de colaborar con una amplia variedad de proyectos de HD, y con la de hacer que su patrimonio digital esté disponible gratuitamente. A través de un estudio de caso de la apertura de los datos del patrimonio cultural para las artes y las humanidades (A&H), la BNE se enfrenta al desafío de su visión de la Web Semántica para encontrar la experiencia requerida por los temas clave de las humanidades digitales contemporáneas.; La Bibliothèque nationale d'Espagne (Biblioteca Nacional de España [BNE]) pour le public cible des humanités numériques (HN), au cours des deux dernières décennies, a relevé des défis majeurs pour s'aligner sur les autres grandes bibliothèques nationales (France, Pays-Bas, Royaume-Uni, Allemagne et Bibliothèque du Congrès). Le chapitre présente le succès de la BNE dans les projets émergents de culture numérique et de BNElab et les éditions numériques (par exemple, les codex Leonardo da Vinci Madrid I & II ou le Quichotte), montrant les étapes les plus nécessaires pour les bibliothèques à suivre à l'ère numérique, en particulier lorsque les HN forment le courant dominant et prennent de l'ampleur. L'importance de la BNE et de son patrimoine s'inscrit dans sa politique de collaboration avec une grande variété de projets HN, et dans celle de mise à disposition gratuite de son patrimoine numérique. À travers une étude de cas sur l'ouverture des données du patrimoine culturel pour les arts et les humanités (A&H), la une analyse atentive de la BNE révèle sa vision du Web sémantique pour trouver l'expertise requise par les enjeux clés des humanités numériques contemporaines.

    This paper presents KD SENSO-MERGER, a novel Knowledge Discovery (KD) architecture that is capable of semantically integrating heterogeneous data from various sources of structured and unstructured data (i.e. geolocations, demographic, socio-economic, user reviews, and comments). This goal drives the main design approach of the architecture. It works by building internal representations that adapt and merge knowledge across multiple domains, ensuring that the knowledge base is continuously updated. To deal with the challenge of integrating heterogeneous data, this proposal puts forward the corresponding solutions: (i) knowledge extraction, addressed via a plugin-based architecture of knowledge sensors; (ii) data integrity, tackled by an architecture designed to deal with uncertain or noisy information; (iii) scalability, this is also supported by the plugin-based architecture as only relevant knowledge to the scenario is integrated by switching-off non-relevant sensors. Also, we minimize the expert knowledge required, which may pose a bottleneck when integrating a fast-paced stream of new sources. As proof of concept, we developed a case study that deploys the architecture to integrate population census and economic data, municipal cartography, and Google Reviews to analyze the socio-economic contexts of educational institutions. The knowledge discovered enables us to answer questions that are not possible through individual sources. Thus, companies or public entities can discover patterns of behavior or relationships that would otherwise not be visible and this would allow extracting valuable information for the decision-making process.     Authors: González Borbolla, Javier Alejandro;

    Partiendo de la premisa de la crisis global del desarraigo, este trabajo realiza un análisis de factores universales que han detonado un crecimiento de este fenómeno, y de cómo han impactado en el arte contemporáneo; provocado en parte por las características de la globalización. Se propone una serie de ejemplos de artistas que en las últimas décadas lo han sentido en su propia piel, causado principalmente por el exilio. Los catalizadores de mi propio desarraigo se desentrañan desde un posicionamiento autobiográfico (y auto-etnográfico), desde la contextualización de mi escenario socio-político y desde la asimilación de mis vivencias personales. La práctica del arte de acción, en este entorno se convierte en medio, arma, y objeto de disentimiento. En este aspecto vuelvo a mis orígenes para explicar, desde la necesidad personal de hacer performance, cómo el propio medio ofrece características vinculadas a la disidencia. Starting from the premise of the global crisis of uprooting, this work analyzes the universal factors that have triggered the growth of this phenomenon and how they have impacted contemporary art, provoked in part by the characteristics of globalization. It proposes a series of examples of artists who in recent decades have felt it in their own skin, caused mainly by exile. The catalysts of my own uprooting are unraveled from an autobiographical (and auto-ethnographic) position, from the contextualization of my socio-political scenario and from the assimilation of my personal experiences Action art practice, in this environment becomes a means, a weapon, and an object of dissent. In this aspect I return to my origins to explain, from the personal need to make performance, how the medium itself offers characteristics linked to dissidence. Universidad de Sevilla.     Authors: Martínez, Enzo Alexander;

    [ES] El desperdicio de alimentos es un problema generalizado que afecta a varias etapas de la cadena de distribución de alimentos. En particular, el desperdicio de alimentos doméstico representa una parte significativa del desperdicio de alimentos a nivel mundial, ya que las familias desechan anualmente grandes cantidades de alimentos que podrían haber sido consumidos. Los hogares pueden ahorrar dinero y contribuir a la reducción de desperdicios mejorando sus prácticas de gestión de inventario de alimentos y compras de comestibles. Con la adopción generalizada de teléfonos inteligentes, casi todos tienen acceso a una variedad de aplicaciones de gestión de inventario de cocina (KIMAs, por sus siglas en inglés). Estas aplicaciones permiten a los usuarios administrar su inventario de alimentos, además de hacer seguimiento a las fechas de vencimiento, las fechas de compra y el uso, lo que facilita y vuelve más eficaz la reducción del desperdicio de alimentos en el hogar. Aunque estas aplicaciones ofrecen numerosos beneficios, todavía hay margen para la mejora. La industria debe mejorar la interfaz de usuario y las capacidades de estas aplicaciones para atraer y retener a más usuarios, permitiendo así que más hogares aprovechen estas tecnologías y se conviertan en participantes activos en los esfuerzos de reducción del desperdicio de alimentos. El objetivo principal de esta tesis es investigar el potencial de la inteligencia artificial (IA) para mejorar una aplicación de gestión de inventario de cocina, con un enfoque en la facilidad de uso y, lo más importante, en la eficiente recuperación de información de datos de alimentos. Para lograr este objetivo, se explorarán y evaluarán diversas tecnologías impulsadas por IA y aprendizaje automático, con el propósito de desarrollar e implementar una KIMA que minimice el tiempo requerido por los usuarios para ingresar datos de alimentos en la aplicación. Empleando tecnologías de AI como el Reconocimiento Óptico de Caracteres o el Procesamiento del Lenguaje Natural, las aplicaciones de gestión de inventario de cocina pueden mejorar significativamente sus interfaces de usuario y funcionalidad. Esto atraería a más usuarios fieles y daría a los hogares la oportunidad de participar activamente en reducir el desperdicio de alimentos, contribuyendo así a un futuro más ecológico y eficiente. [EN] Food waste is a pervasive problem that impacts various stages of the food distribution chain. Domestic food waste represents a significant portion of global food waste, as families discard substantial amounts of food annually that could have otherwise been consumed. Households can save money and contribute to waste reduction by improving their food inventory and grocery management practices. With the widespread adoption of smartphones, nearly everyone has access to a range of Kitchen Inventory Management Apps (KIMAs). These apps enable users to manage their food and grocery inventory while keeping track of expiration dates, purchase dates, and usage, thereby making the reduction of household food waste more manageable and effective. Although these apps provide numerous benefits, there remains ample opportunity for improvement. The industry must enhance these apps' user interface and capabilities to attract and retain more users, empowering more households to leverage these technologies and participate actively in food waste reduction efforts. The primary objective of this thesis is to investigate the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for enhancing a kitchen inventory management app, focusing on ease of use and, most importantly, efficient food data information retrieval. To achieve this goal, various AI and Machine Learning-powered technologies will be explored and evaluated, aiming to develop and implement a KIMA that minimises the time required for users to input food data into the application. By harnessing the potential of AI technologies like Optical Character Recognition and Natural Language Processing, kitchen inventory management apps can significantly improve their user interface and capabilities. This would attract and retain more users and empower households to actively participate in reducing food waste and making more sustainable consumption choices, contributing to a greener and more efficient future.

    [ES] Esta tesis explora el potencial de la inteligencia artificial en la educación mediante la creación de una aplicación que transcribe vídeos y responde a preguntas relacionadas con los vídeos utilizando modelos de código abierto. La plataforma basada en IA permite a los educadores subir clases en línea o vídeos educativos, que luego se transcriben automáticamente. Los usuarios también pueden hacer preguntas relacionadas con las transcripciones y recibir respuestas con la marca de tiempo en la que se da la explicación. Además, el sistema ofrece una interfaz de programación de aplicaciones (API) para facilitar a los centros educativos la implementación de la aplicación. La tesis pretende demostrar cómo la inteligencia artificial puede mejorar la calidad de la educación y reducir costes utilizando tecnología de código abierto. [EN] This thesis explores the potential of artificial intelligence in education by creating an application that transcribes videos and answers questions related to the videos using open-source models. The AI-based platform allows educators to upload online classes or educational videos, which are then automatically transcribed. Users can also ask questions related to the transcriptions and receive answers with the timestamp where the explanation is given. Additionally, the system offers an application programming interface (API) to make it easier for educational institutions to implement the application. The thesis aims to demonstrate how artificial intelligence can enhance the quality of education and reduce costs by utilizing open-source technology.
