    This paper investigates the meanings of the prefix "des" in action nouns in Brazilian Portuguese through an approach to the language in use and focuses on the importance of context for the recognition of the meaning being activated by the affix. Initially, the main contributions of the Normative Grammatical Tradition and the Theory of Generative Linguistics to the analysis of the referred prefix are presented. The corpus used in this research was constituted from the electronic mega-corpus NILC of the University of Sao Paulo developed on the Sao Carlos campus. The results of the data analysis reveal that the meaning of the affix “des-” in the language in use is highly influenced by the context, therefore it is possible for the same word to have different meanings, depending on whether it is in different situations of use.

    Este artigo trata do processo de produção e de reescrita de texto no Ensino Médio. O objetivo do trabalho é tratar do estudo acerca da construção do conhecimento linguístico em uma perspectiva processual (Geraldi, 1997), sob a óptica da Análise Dialógica do Discurso e à luz da Linguística Aplicada. Como aporte metodológico, a pesquisa possui natureza teórico-prática, com abordagem qualitativo-interpretativa e fins explicativos. Os procedimentos técnicos correspondem à pesquisa de revisão bibliográfica, estudo de caso e pesquisa-ação. A geração de registros acontece por meio da documentação indireta bibliográfica e direta intensiva na descrição documental. O método principal de análise e de interpretação dos dados é o dialético, tendo como subsídio secundário, os procedimentos técnicos histórico, comparativo e monográfico. Como resultados, propõe-se uma planilha de Revisão Interacional que pode ser adaptada e utilizada na escola, além de refletir acerca do processo de produção e de reescrita textual.

    O século XIX constitui-se como um período importante para o entendimento da historicidade da língua em solo brasileiro. Ancorado no campo teórico da História das Ideias Linguísticas (Auroux) na relação com a da Análise do Discurso (Pêcheux, Orlandi), neste artigo, tem-se como objetivo dar a saber da composição de um arquivo construído a partir das notas de rodapé de Alencar em dois de seus romances, O Guarani e Iracema, totalizando 202 entradas. As notas, sobre palavras e expressões, dizem respeito à língua e funcionam como verbetes. Nossa posição é a de que as notas de rodapé de Alencar se inscrevem na intensa produção de vocabulários do século XIX no Brasil, não apenas como listagens de palavras, mas no exaustivo trabalho daquele que captura, descreve e interpreta. Tal arquivo irá permitir estudos diversos sobre a língua no século XIX bem como possibilitará uma reflexão sobre o lugar do escritor na gramatização da língua em solo brasileiro.

    Este artigo pretende verificar o funcionamento do emprego das vírgulas no texto da carta régia de 1755, documento que constituirá o primeiro corpus da pesquisa, e relacionar esse uso com dois tratados ortográficos, que formarão o segundo corpus: Regras da língua portuguesa, espelho da língua latina, de Argote (1725); e Orthographia, ou arte de escrever; e pronunciar com acerto a língua portuguesa, de Madureira Feijó (1734). Todavia, por se tratar de um manuscrito, primeiramente destacaremos suas propriedades filológicas, tarefa imprescindível para se endossar o documento como autêntico e original, e assim disponibilizá-lo como fonte segura para pesquisas das diversas áreas do conhecimento.

    Este artigo discute as relações entre os erros de grafia e os níveis de escrita com base na teoria da psicogênese da escrita e na análise de textos produzidos por crianças, jovens e adultos alfabetizados. A partir da ideia de que o processo de alfabetização é evolutivo e que, se não desenvolvido adequadamente para o nível alfabético ortográfico, resultará no fato de que os indivíduos, ainda que alfabetizados, cometerão incorreções na escrita de palavras, por exemplo, nos casos de homofonia interna, ou seja, fonemas idênticos marcados por diferentes grafemas; troca de fonemas surdos por sonoros; hiper e hipossegmentação; marcas de oralidade na escrita de palavras conforme a variante local; entre outras. Nosso objetivo é, portanto, demonstrar que os erros de grafia cometidos por sujeitos alfabetizados advêm de uma espécie de estagnação que ocorre no desenvolvimento da competência escrita para o nível ortográfico. As análises recaem sobre textos de adultos alfabetizados que apresentam erros de grafia, evidenciando um nível alfabético, porém não ortográfico.

    O aspecto perfect universal (PU) associado ao presente refere-se a eventos que começaram no passado e persistem até o presente (MCCAWLEY, 1981). Tal aspecto, segundo Jesus et al. (2017), pode ser veiculado no português do Brasil (PB) por meio de presente simples (PS), perífrases progressivas (PROG) e passado composto (PC). O objetivo deste trabalho é investigar restrições sintático-semânticas para o uso dessas morfologias verbais na veiculação do PU no PB. As hipóteses testadas foram: (i) o PS só veicula esse aspecto quando associado a advérbios/expressões adverbiais veiculadores de PU foneticamente realizados, (ii) as perífrases PROG não se associam a verbos de estado e (iii) o PC só veicula leitura de iteratividade. A metodologia consistiu em análise de fala espontânea e aplicação de teste de preenchimento de lacuna a falantes do PB. Pelos resultados, refutaram-se as hipóteses e discutiu-se que haja outras restrições para o uso das morfologias verbais na veiculação desse aspecto.

    This paper, having as its main theoretical scope the Semiolinguistics of Discourse Analysis, created by Patrick Charaudeau, analyses a cover of IstoE magazine, in order to verify the way the “communicating self” constructs the semiotized political person, articulating both verbal and nonverbal texts. The magazine cover analysed is that of the 30th August 2019 edition, which associates President Bolsonaro with a former emperor of Rome, Nero. The objective is to identify the construction that the “communicating self” makes of the semiotized political person on the cover. Thus, it is observed whether the “communication self”, as representative of the magazine, reinforces or refutes the image (ethos) normally constructed by the political person portrayed. Moreover, in order to have the interlocutor not only as a newsstand reader, but an effective buyer and assiduous readerof the issue as well, IstoE, among various strategies, can appeal to the emotional state (pathos effects), using three attitudes – polemic, seduction and dramatization. In this sense, we intend to analyse, through Discourse Analysis bias, the emotion from the intended effects. The initial analysis reveals that there is no impartiality in transforming a gross event into a semiotized one and, therefore, already interpreted from the speaker’s point of view.

    EnglishThe detachment phenomenon allows us to accept the possibility of subordinate clauses occurring syntactically independent from their main clauses, being seperate from them through a full stop punctuation mark. According to Decat (2011), detachment is the phenomenon through which information units are identified as occurring loosely in linguistic structures and the full stop punctuation mark is the main indication of it on writing. Thus, our hypothesis is based on the idea that the non conventional use of such punctuation mark (TENANI; SONCIN, 2010), which isolates and enhances the subordinate clauses that traditionally constitute a compound period, not only modifies the syntactic structure of the period but also shows a communicative intention of the writer. In this manner, we adopt the funcionalist proposal that supports the idea that apositive relative clauses and circumnstancial clauses are cases of hypotaxis and not subordination. We also analyze the uses of such structures in a detached materialization, collecting the examples from a corpus composed of 197 writing compositions taken from educacao.uol.com.br (CIDADE, 2020). The results found though the present analysis confirm the ones previously indicated by Rodrigues (2019). portuguesO fenomeno do desgarramento permite-nos aceitar a possibilidade de que “subordinadas” ocorram sintaticamente independentes de suas principais e separadas destas por ponto final. Partimos, portanto, da hipotese de que o uso nao-convencional (TENANI; SONCIN, 2010) desse sinal de pontuacao, de forma a isolar e realcar as “subordinadas” que tradicionalmente comporiam um periodo composto, nao so modifica a estrutura sintatica do periodo como tambem evidencia uma intencao comunicativa do escrevente. Assim, adotamos a proposta funcionalista de que relativas apositivas e circunstanciais constituem casos de hipotaxe e nao de subordinacao, e analisamos usos dessas estruturas materializadas de forma desgarrada em um corpus composto de 197 redacoes do site educacao.uol.com.br (CIDADE, 2020). Os resultados encontrados confirmam os de Rodrigues (2019).

    The article proposes that the perceived gap between the scientific linguistic practice and its historical path must be overcome and that it is in the language sciences teaching situation that this connection can be re-established in a privileged way. The term ‘linguistics’ in the text refers to both the vast knowledge that men produced about the nature of human language and their languages, as well as to the introductory discipline offered in the Language and Literature undergraduate schools. Basing on general principles shared by contemporary linguistic historiographers, we suggest some guidelines that can subsidize language sciences education.

    This paper investigates the meanings of the prefix "des" in action nouns in Brazilian Portuguese through an approach to the language in use and focuses on the importance of context for the recognition of the meaning being activated by the affix. Initially, the main contributions of the Normative Grammatical Tradition and the Theory of Generative Linguistics to the analysis of the referred prefix are presented. The corpus used in this research was constituted from the electronic mega-corpus NILC of the University of Sao Paulo developed on the Sao Carlos campus. The results of the data analysis reveal that the meaning of the affix “des-” in the language in use is highly influenced by the context, therefore it is possible for the same word to have different meanings, depending on whether it is in different situations of use.

O objetivo do trabalho é tratar do estudo acerca da construção do conhecimento linguístico em uma perspectiva processual (Geraldi, 1997), sob a óptica da Análise Dialógica do Discurso e à luz da Linguística Aplicada. Como aporte metodológico, a pesquisa possui natureza teórico-prática, com abordagem qualitativo-interpretativa e fins explicativos. Os procedimentos técnicos correspondem à pesquisa de revisão bibliográfica, estudo de caso e pesquisa-ação. A geração de registros acontece por meio da documentação indireta bibliográfica e direta intensiva na descrição documental. O método principal de análise e de interpretação dos dados é o dialético, tendo como subsídio secundário, os procedimentos técnicos histórico, comparativo e monográfico. Como resultados, propõe-se uma planilha de Revisão Interacional que pode ser adaptada e utilizada na escola, além de refletir acerca do processo de produção e de reescrita textual.

    O século XIX constitui-se como um período importante para o entendimento da historicidade da língua em solo brasileiro. Ancorado no campo teórico da História das Ideias Linguísticas (Auroux) na relação com a da Análise do Discurso (Pêcheux, Orlandi), neste artigo, tem-se como objetivo dar a saber da composição de um arquivo construído a partir das notas de rodapé de Alencar em dois de seus romances, O Guarani e Iracema, totalizando 202 entradas. As notas, sobre palavras e expressões, dizem respeito à língua e funcionam como verbetes. Nossa posição é a de que as notas de rodapé de Alencar se inscrevem na intensa produção de vocabulários do século XIX no Brasil, não apenas como listagens de palavras, mas no exaustivo trabalho daquele que captura, descreve e interpreta. Tal arquivo irá permitir estudos diversos sobre a língua no século XIX bem como possibilitará uma reflexão sobre o lugar do escritor na gramatização da língua em solo brasileiro.

    Este artigo pretende verificar o funcionamento do emprego das vírgulas no texto da carta régia de 1755, documento que constituirá o primeiro corpus da pesquisa, e relacionar esse uso com dois tratados ortográficos, que formarão o segundo corpus: Regras da língua portuguesa, espelho da língua latina, de Argote (1725); e Orthographia, ou arte de escrever; e pronunciar com acerto a língua portuguesa, de Madureira Feijó (1734). Todavia, por se tratar de um manuscrito, primeiramente destacaremos suas propriedades filológicas, tarefa imprescindível para se endossar o documento como autêntico e original, e assim disponibilizá-lo como fonte segura para pesquisas das diversas áreas do conhecimento.

    Este artigo discute as relações entre os erros de grafia e os níveis de escrita com base na teoria da psicogênese da escrita e na análise de textos produzidos por crianças, jovens e adultos alfabetizados. A partir da ideia de que o processo de alfabetização é evolutivo e que, se não desenvolvido adequadamente para o nível alfabético ortográfico, resultará no fato de que os indivíduos, ainda que alfabetizados, cometerão incorreções na escrita de palavras, por exemplo, nos casos de homofonia interna, ou seja, fonemas idênticos marcados por diferentes grafemas; troca de fonemas surdos por sonoros; hiper e hipossegmentação; marcas de oralidade na escrita de palavras conforme a variante local; entre outras. Nosso objetivo é, portanto, demonstrar que os erros de grafia cometidos por sujeitos alfabetizados advêm de uma espécie de estagnação que ocorre no desenvolvimento da competência escrita para o nível ortográfico. As análises recaem sobre textos de adultos alfabetizados que apresentam erros de grafia, evidenciando um nível alfabético, porém não ortográfico.

    O aspecto perfect universal (PU) associado ao presente refere-se a eventos que começaram no passado e persistem até o presente (MCCAWLEY, 1981). Tal aspecto, segundo Jesus et al. (2017), pode ser veiculado no português do Brasil (PB) por meio de presente simples (PS), perífrases progressivas (PROG) e passado composto (PC). O objetivo deste trabalho é investigar restrições sintático-semânticas para o uso dessas morfologias verbais na veiculação do PU no PB. As hipóteses testadas foram: (i) o PS só veicula esse aspecto quando associado a advérbios/expressões adverbiais veiculadores de PU foneticamente realizados, (ii) as perífrases PROG não se associam a verbos de estado e (iii) o PC só veicula leitura de iteratividade. A metodologia consistiu em análise de fala espontânea e aplicação de teste de preenchimento de lacuna a falantes do PB. Pelos resultados, refutaram-se as hipóteses e discutiu-se que haja outras restrições para o uso das morfologias verbais na veiculação desse aspecto.

    This paper, having as its main theoretical scope the Semiolinguistics of Discourse Analysis, created by Patrick Charaudeau, analyses a cover of IstoE magazine, in order to verify the way the “communicating self” constructs the semiotized political person, articulating both verbal and nonverbal texts. The magazine cover analysed is that of the 30th August 2019 edition, which associates President Bolsonaro with a former emperor of Rome, Nero. The objective is to identify the construction that the “communicating self” makes of the semiotized political person on the cover. Thus, it is observed whether the “communication self”, as representative of the magazine, reinforces or refutes the image (ethos) normally constructed by the political person portrayed. Moreover, in order to have the interlocutor not only as a newsstand reader, but an effective buyer and assiduous readerof the issue as well, IstoE, among various strategies, can appeal to the emotional state (pathos effects), using three attitudes – polemic, seduction and dramatization. In this sense, we intend to analyse, through Discourse Analysis bias, the emotion from the intended effects. The initial analysis reveals that there is no impartiality in transforming a gross event into a semiotized one and, therefore, already interpreted from the speaker’s point of view.

    EnglishThe detachment phenomenon allows us to accept the possibility of subordinate clauses occurring syntactically independent from their main clauses, being seperate from them through a full stop punctuation mark. According to Decat (2011), detachment is the phenomenon through which information units are identified as occurring loosely in linguistic structures and the full stop punctuation mark is the main indication of it on writing. Thus, our hypothesis is based on the idea that the non conventional use of such punctuation mark (TENANI; SONCIN, 2010), which isolates and enhances the subordinate clauses that traditionally constitute a compound period, not only modifies the syntactic structure of the period but also shows a communicative intention of the writer. In this manner, we adopt the funcionalist proposal that supports the idea that apositive relative clauses and circumnstancial clauses are cases of hypotaxis and not subordination. We also analyze the uses of such structures in a detached materialization, collecting the examples from a corpus composed of 197 writing compositions taken from educacao.uol.com.br (CIDADE, 2020). The results found though the present analysis confirm the ones previously indicated by Rodrigues (2019). portuguesO fenomeno do desgarramento permite-nos aceitar a possibilidade de que “subordinadas” ocorram sintaticamente independentes de suas principais e separadas destas por ponto final. Segundo Decat (2011), desgarramento e o fenomeno pelo qual se identificam unidades de informacao que ocorrem soltas nas estruturas linguisticas e o ponto e o principal indice deste fenomeno na escrita. Partimos, portanto, da hipotese de que o uso nao-convencional (TENANI; SONCIN, 2010) desse sinal de pontuacao, de forma a isolar e realcar as “subordinadas” que tradicionalmente comporiam um periodo composto, nao so modifica a estrutura sintatica do periodo como tambem evidencia uma intencao comunicativa do escrevente. Assim, adotamos a proposta funcionalista de que relativas apositivas e circunstanciais constituem casos de hipotaxe e nao de subordinacao, e analisamos usos dessas estruturas materializadas de forma desgarrada em um corpus composto de 197 redacoes do site educacao.uol.com.br (CIDADE, 2020). Os resultados encontrados confirmam os de Rodrigues (2019).

    The article proposes that the perceived gap between the scientific linguistic practice and its historical path must be overcome and that it is in the language sciences teaching situation that this connection can be re-established in a privileged way. The term ‘linguistics’ in the text refers to both the vast knowledge that men produced about the nature of human language and their languages, as well as to the introductory discipline offered in the Language and Literature undergraduate schools. Basing on general principles shared by contemporary linguistic historiographers, we suggest some guidelines that can subsidize language sciences education.
