We have before us the sixth issue of INSAM Journal of Contemporary Music, Art and Technology. This is the second issue in a row dedicated to the global crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. After the overwhelming response from all over the world to the call for papers and provocative inspections that ensued, here we wanted to discuss the ways in which technology shapes and enables work in the areas of music, arts, humanities, and the education process, this time inviting our collaborators to discuss the shortcomings and struggles of the working processes in these fields. The main theme, “Music, Art and Humanities in the Time of Global Crisis”, expanded from the Main Theme section into the interviews as well.

The Editorial Board of the INSAM Journal of Contemporary Music, Art and Technology decided that both issues of 2022 will be dedicated to one main theme, namely, “Fighting for the attention: Music and art on social media”. We can say that this call for papers went very successfully, as we are now presenting to you INSAM Journal No. 9. In a year which has seen many grave turbulences on socio-economic and political levels on a global scale, we have once again confirmed the importance of social media for communication and the spreading of news, and we have also seen the limitations of these tools. Turning to music and art on social media, our Main Theme section consists of five intriguing papers, Beyond the Main Theme section has two articles, (Inter)Views bring three exciting pieces, and the Reviews one festival report.

The couple of issues of the INSAM Journal of Contemporary Music, Art and Technology planned for this year – of which the issue before us, No. 8, is the first one – are dedicated to the theme titled “Fighting for the attention: Music and art on social media”. This theme also leans on the previous ones that dealt with music and art in times of crisis or the relationship between music and art with mental health in contemporary society. This time, we are shedding the light on artists, creators, procedures, methodologies and outputs that are in direct correlation with the ways in which diverse social media platforms today function and grab our attention. The Main Theme section brings us seven exciting papers

Analyzing a scientific institution and its protagonists in diachronic perspective also entails different levels of (self)assessment - retrospection, introspection, and extrospection, which also points out to turmoils, stratifications, and contradictions of scientific temporal strategies. In this paper I am interpreting processes of the establishment of normative strategies, institutional politics, construction of collectivities, and individual aspirations at the Institute of Ethnography SASA from 1947 until present. Historical self-reflection encompasses five options through which scientific subjectivities and objectivities were formed and confronted: 1. Routinization of meaningful systems and sliding individual inventiveness; 2. Efficiency of the institutional order and distinctiveness in reaching scientific goals; 3. Determined order and individual agility in the zone of enterprising and skillful activism; 4. Consistency of scientific order and constant dynamics in the zones of public visibility; 5. Verifiability in accordance with institutional standards and coordinated work at the collegial level. This session proposes multispecies approaches and understandings advanced within the ontological turn, as analytical frameworks for exploring how hunter-gatherers past and present were living (well?) with other species. Prehistoric archaeology, entailing the study of human and animal remains from the beginnings of humanity, on a global scale, can contribute in a unique way to explore what it means to be human in a world populated by non-human others. Throughout the Holocene humans have lived with animals in multispecies environments. How humans have lived with animals varies within, and between, societies. Animals have been bred, domesticated, buried, hunted, and fished, nurtured as pets and companions in addition to being exploited as food and materials. We also reflect on the role of insects as cultural agents, by focusing on how insects have impacted hunterfisher lifeways in the past and present, and what sort of challenges or solutions can insects represent to hunter-gatherers. A multispecies approach, inspired by ethology and biosemiotics, entanglement theory, and native ontologies, recognize that prehistoric communities were entwined with nonhumans in social as well as ecological and economic ways. We further embrace the concept of «egomorphism» (Milton 2005), a perspective acknowledging that humans perceive animals as similar to themselves and able to partake in social relations, as a viable road to overcome the polarization between Western and indigenous ontologies, while still taking native perspectives seriously. Archaeology is largely invisible in current debates about the Anthropocene and human influence on the environment. Although archaeological periods lie far beyond the onset of this geological epoch as currently defined, engaging with the debates encourages us to reflect on relations to nature and animals past and present, and our role and place in the world. Archaeological finds can challenge present norms and understandings and provide depth and diversity to the Anthropocene-debate which would not be accessible from anthropological, geographical or historical data. We welcome papers exploring multispecies relations from a variety of perspectives – relational, zoo/biosemiotic, ethological, historical, anthropological, environmental and phenomenological, regardless of chronological, geographical or cultural context. Contributions may focus on methods, models, case studies or theoretical frameworks.

Age, microfacies and depositional realm of the Grivska Formation is controversially discussed due to the fact that detailed investigations are missing. Based on reinvestigations of the type locality of the Grivska Formation and in adjacent areas, the following results can be drawn: 1) The Grivska Formation is of Late Triassic (Early Carnian to Rhaetian) age according to conodont dating. 2) Sedimentological and microfacies studies evidenced that the Grivska Formation was deposited on the continental slope and transitional to the Neo-Tethys Ocean. Based on the results of these investigations in the type area and several reference sections in the Dinaridic Ophiolite Belt, the Grivska Formation is emended and clearly defined. In the Dinaridic Ophiolite Belt, the Grivska Formation occurs only as clasts and blocks in the ophiolitic melange. In the seventh issue of INSAM Journal of Contemporary Music, Art and Technology, we are continuing our series on themes dedicated to art, music, and humanities in times of global crisis. After dealing with more general questions regarding these areas of creation, in this volume we are thinking about the issue of mental and bodily health during the Covid-19 pandemic and its possible ties and representations in music and art.

Human-Machine Collaboration in music, arts, and theory, has come to be a particularly challenging, provocative, and necessary topic. As we underlined in the Call for Papers, the theme of the issue highlighted our intention to give space to overcoming the deep-rooted dichotomy “human vs. machine” in the arts. In finding and understanding the flaws and strengths of both sides through theoretical, inter and trans-disciplinary, and critical thinking, we strive towards creating a platform for open discussions on the subject. In the issue of INSAM Journal in front of us, this conversation is inspired by the propelling artwork of Sougwen Chung.

In the course of several decades at the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad, fundamental studies in the field of neurosciences were of great importance and continually up-to-date with global scientific achievements. These studies were applied by using the stereotactic method, single unit recording and electroencephalography. Laboratory of Neurophysiology was established in 1965 and since 1978 microelectrode and microiontophoretic techniques important for the registration and analysis of the activity of individual neurons were fully developed. Under the great influence of Russian neurophysiological school (P.K. Anokhin, K.V. Sudakov) the emphasis was on the study of the theory of Anokhin’s functional systems. Recently, epilepsy, brain ischemia and the influence of different medications, auxiliary medicinal products and physical agents (electromagnetic radiation) on central nervous system, behaviour, learning and investigated pathological conditions have been studied. Scientific collaboration with renowned institutions in the country and abroad was established, numerous scientific projects were relized, expert international meetings were organized and numerous significant studies were published. These results have often been the basis for further clinical investigations and the improvement of preventive or curative treatment of patients. Researchers from the Laboratory participated in the education of new generations of neurophysiologists encouraging their scientific curiosity and love for fascinating mechanisms of nervous system functioning.

This document employs a statistical approach in exploring language and extracting linguistic forms there contained, so as to identify the linguistic forms which are most frequently used in legal documents. Thus retrieved data, as the second part of this paper shows, can be used to research information, analyze references and links, trace pathways between correlating legal documents and establish the relevance of legal documents on the grounds of their mutual correlation. The retrieved data can further be utilized in various other manners. The methodology of this research and thus attained information form a good basis and act as input data for numerous further analyses.
