    The relation of Jena romantics to Kant’s transcendental philosophy could be considered from the point of view of the romantic theory of the fragment. The author claims that fragmentariness had a transcendental character in the philosophical ref lections of Friedrich Schlegel and Novalis. That is the reason that they have acquired the opportunity of approaching to the immanent tension of Kant’s philosophical project. The problem of ref lection of relation between systematicity and incompleteness of knowledge and of man’s theoretical and practical side is among the most important. The author tries to evaluate the importance of Fichte’s version of critical idealism for romantics, considering the crucial romanticists’ intention of historization of transcendental idealism with the help of the fragment. Final chapter refers to recent interpretations of the romantic fragment which tend to ignore this intention.

    Based on a rereading of King Dušan’s chrysobulls to the Treskavac Monastery, the paper indicates a link between the sacred space of the Treskavac Monastery on the mountain and the urban space - i.e. the medieval city of Prilep and the nobility - at the foot of the mountain. Judging by these charters, the reasons for bestowing donations on the Treskavac Monastery by the numerous members of the aristocracy in Pelagonia and Prilep seem to suggest a religious and funerary context. At the same time, the paper aims to highlight sacred topography, i.e. the churches in the possession of the Treskavac Monastery which made up a sacred network on the territory of Prilep and were vertically, spiritually and economically tied to the monastery on the mountain.

    Along with the usual inscription that contains the title of the scene, depictions of the Dormition of Holy Virgin in the art of the Palaiologan period abound in texts inscribed on open books carried by holy bishops or scrolls held by the hymnographers and prophets included in the composition. Inscriptions can also be found in the episodes that sometimes accompany the central representation of the Virgin Mary's death. This paper seeks to compile the most typical examples of such inscriptions, identify their hymnographic and liturgical sources and offer iconographic interpretations.

    The processes of transition within the socio-cultural surroundings of contemporary Serbia have inevitably found their way into the activities of the Ethnographic museum in Belgrade. As a significant participant and representative of cultural policy, immersed in the concept of conservation of intangible cultural heritage, the museum itself is at a turning point that should signify the overcoming of the dichotomies between the proclaimed and desired objectives and the achieved results. The frameworks that display standard, petrified representations of cultures, and, on the other hand, the acceptance of concepts of the new museology, have contributed to an improvement in the ingrained concepts, models and systems of museological thought and practice, which in turn signifies changes in the everyday life of museums. Based on this, as well as an analysis of key communication points and meanings within the exhibition project At the End and at the Beginning - the Carnival, which the museum realized as part of Museum Night - an important (in Serbia) museological manifestation, this paper deals with the possibilities and possible avenues as well as dead ends which contributed to the processes of theoretical and practical modernization of museology and Serbian museological practice.

    This article examines two modes of the canceling of time in a comparative analysis that ought to show the passage from the aesthetic over coming of the form of time in Kant to the historical over coming of natural time in Hegel. The essay begins with a problematization of the form of time in Kant’s first Critique and with the question whet her Kant displaces time outside the framework of mere condition of receptivity. Thereafter we will analyze the key passage from Analytics of the Sublime where Kant writes about the cancellation of time-condition and we will interpret this in the light of an ontology of the eventuality and in the historico-political context of French revolution. Although Kant still does not think time as historical time, the cancellation of time-condition in the experience of the sublime shall be considered as the act of the structuring of time that is emancipated from natural linearity and causal continuity. The thinking of historical time will take place only with He gel, i.e. with his identification of time and concept. In this sense we will analyze Hegel’s notion of "conceptual history" in order to draw a conclusion that in Phenomenology of Spirit is al so at work a modus of annihilation of the natural, linear time, but unlike Kant it is truly articulated as historical occurrence. Time is constituted only as annihilated, since it is the intuitive, sensible, natural and external meaning of time what is sublated, while time in its originary dimension is produced only as hi story-time.

    Contemporary football represents a highly commodified spectacle, a segment of the entertainment industry where huge amounts of money change hands, and the popularity of football competitions - whether national or international - is a global phenomenon, which billions of people take part in. Only thirty years ago, however, the situation was very different. In Western Europe, and especially Great Britain, football was mostly associated with hooliganism, and the audiences at the run-down stadiums were dwindling in numbers. On the other hand, in Eastern Europe before the fall of the Berlin wall football was at its peak, only to fall from grace and onto the European periphery in the 90’s, where it is, by and large, still situated. This dramatic transformation which turned football into “entertainment for rich people” did not occur by accident, it has deep roots in the history of the sport, but also in the wider socio-economic transformations within the context of which this segment of pop culture exists. In this paper I will offer a look at the social and economic conditions in which football developed with the aim of establishing a framework for understanding the changes which occurred within the sport and within the society, with a special focus on the connection between football and the rise of nationalism in the former Yugoslavia, but also wider social processes linked to the descent of Serbia into the so-called process of “transition”, or the acceptance of parliamentary democracy and capitalism as bases of social order. It is my intention to, through the analysis of sociohistorical elements which influenced the development and transformation of the game of football, indicate the wider frame of possibilities for the analysis of contemporary events through the prism of this segment of pop-culture.[Projekat Ministarstva nauke Republike Srbije, br. 177026]

    The papers in this thematic issue are dedicated to the following topics: interreligious dialogue, negotiation of ethnic and religious affiliation in everyday life, religious conversion, inherited institutions of the Ottoman society and attitude towards them, (re)presentation of historical figures and events in literary narratives, Muslim religious organizations in the past and present. The thematic issue aims to contribute to academic dialogue in domestic and international context, in which strategies, topoi and actors related to the Ottoman heritage, Muslims and Islam are very current.     The relation of Jena romantics to Kant’s transcendental philosophy could be considered from the point of view of the romantic theory of the fragment. The author claims that fragmentariness had a transcendental character in the philosophical ref lections of Friedrich Schlegel and Novalis. That is the reason that they have acquired the opportunity of approaching to the immanent tension of Kant’s philosophical project. The problem of ref lection of relation between systematicity and incompleteness of knowledge and of man’s theoretical and practical side is among the most important. The author tries to evaluate the importance of Fichte’s version of critical idealism for romantics, considering the crucial romanticists’ intention of historization of transcendental idealism with the help of the fragment. Final chapter refers to recent interpretations of the romantic fragment which tend to ignore this intention.

    Based on a rereading of King Dušan’s chrysobulls to the Treskavac Monastery, the paper indicates a link between the sacred space of the Treskavac Monastery on the mountain and the urban space - i.e. the medieval city of Prilep and the nobility - at the foot of the mountain. Judging by these charters, the reasons for bestowing donations on the Treskavac Monastery by the numerous members of the aristocracy in Pelagonia and Prilep seem to suggest a religious and funerary context. At the same time, the paper aims to highlight sacred topography, i.e. the churches in the possession of the Treskavac Monastery which made up a sacred network on the territory of Prilep and were vertically, spiritually and economically tied to the monastery on the mountain.

    Along with the usual inscription that contains the title of the scene, depictions of the Dormition of Holy Virgin in the art of the Palaiologan period abound in texts inscribed on open books carried by holy bishops or scrolls held by the hymnographers and prophets included in the composition. Inscriptions can also be found in the episodes that sometimes accompany the central representation of the Virgin Mary's death. This paper seeks to compile the most typical examples of such inscriptions, identify their hymnographic and liturgical sources and offer iconographic interpretations.

    The processes of transition within the socio-cultural surroundings of contemporary Serbia have inevitably found their way into the activities of the Ethnographic museum in Belgrade. As a significant participant and representative of cultural policy, immersed in the concept of conservation of intangible cultural heritage, the museum itself is at a turning point that should signify the overcoming of the dichotomies between the proclaimed and desired objectives and the achieved results. The frameworks that display standard, petrified representations of cultures, and, on the other hand, the acceptance of concepts of the new museology, have contributed to an improvement in the ingrained concepts, models and systems of museological thought and practice, which in turn signifies changes in the everyday life of museums. Based on this, as well as an analysis of key communication points and meanings within the exhibition project At the End and at the Beginning - the Carnival, which the museum realized as part of Museum Night - an important (in Serbia) museological manifestation, this paper deals with the possibilities and possible avenues as well as dead ends which contributed to the processes of theoretical and practical modernization of museology and Serbian museological practice.

    This article examines two modes of the canceling of time in a comparative analysis that ought to show the passage from the aesthetic over coming of the form of time in Kant to the historical over coming of natural time in Hegel. The essay begins with a problematization of the form of time in Kant’s first Critique and with the question whet her Kant displaces time outside the framework of mere condition of receptivity. Thereafter we will analyze the key passage from Analytics of the Sublime where Kant writes about the cancellation of time-condition and we will interpret this in the light of an ontology of the eventuality and in the historico-political context of French revolution. Although Kant still does not think time as historical time, the cancellation of time-condition in the experience of the sublime shall be considered as the act of the structuring of time that is emancipated from natural linearity and causal continuity. The thinking of historical time will take place only with He gel, i.e. with his identification of time and concept. In this sense we will analyze Hegel’s notion of "conceptual history" in order to draw a conclusion that in Phenomenology of Spirit is al so at work a modus of annihilation of the natural, linear time, but unlike Kant it is truly articulated as historical occurrence. Time is constituted only as annihilated, since it is the intuitive, sensible, natural and external meaning of time what is sublated, while time in its originary dimension is produced only as hi story-time.

    Contemporary football represents a highly commodified spectacle, a segment of the entertainment industry where huge amounts of money change hands, and the popularity of football competitions - whether national or international - is a global phenomenon, which billions of people take part in. Only thirty years ago, however, the situation was very different. In Western Europe, and especially Great Britain, football was mostly associated with hooliganism, and the audiences at the run-down stadiums were dwindling in numbers. On the other hand, in Eastern Europe before the fall of the Berlin wall football was at its peak, only to fall from grace and onto the European periphery in the 90’s, where it is, by and large, still situated. This dramatic transformation which turned football into “entertainment for rich people” did not occur by accident, it has deep roots in the history of the sport, but also in the wider socio-economic transformations within the context of which this segment of pop culture exists. In this paper I will offer a look at the social and economic conditions in which football developed with the aim of establishing a framework for understanding the changes which occurred within the sport and within the society, with a special focus on the connection between football and the rise of nationalism in the former Yugoslavia, but also wider social processes linked to the descent of Serbia into the so-called process of “transition”, or the acceptance of parliamentary democracy and capitalism as bases of social order. It is my intention to, through the analysis of sociohistorical elements which influenced the development and transformation of the game of football, indicate the wider frame of possibilities for the analysis of contemporary events through the prism of this segment of pop-culture.[Projekat Ministarstva nauke Republike Srbije, br. 177026]

    The papers in this thematic issue are dedicated to the following topics: interreligious dialogue, negotiation of ethnic and religious affiliation in everyday life, religious conversion, inherited institutions of the Ottoman society and attitude towards them, (re)presentation of historical figures and events in literary narratives, Muslim religious organizations in the past and present. The thematic issue aims to contribute to academic dialogue in domestic and international context, in which strategies, topoi and actors related to the Ottoman heritage, Muslims and Islam are very current. Радови у овом тематском броју посвећени су следећим темама: међурелигијски дијалог, преговарање о етничкој и верској припадности у свакодневном животу, верска конверзија, наслеђене институције османског друштва и однос према њима, (ре)презентација историјских личности и догађаја у књижевни наративи, муслиманске верске организације у прошлости и садашњости. Тематско издање има за циљ да допринесе академском дијалогу у домаћем и међународном контексту, у којем су веома актуелне стратегије, топои и актери везани за отоманско наслеђе, муслимане и ислам.
