    Several countries have traditional textiles as a piece of their cultural heritage. Indonesia has a traditional textile called batik. Central Java is one of the regions producing batik known for its variety of distinctive themes. It has unique designs and several motifs that emphasize the beauty of historic sites. Since the diversity of central java batik motifs and the lack of knowledge from the surrounding community, only a select group of people, especially the batik craftsmen themselves, can recognize these motifs. Consequently, the method to identify the batik according to the primary ornament pattern is required. Therefore, this study proposes a computer vision-based method for classifying batik patterns. The proposed method required discriminating appropriate features to produce optimal results. The discriminating features were constructed based on color, shape, and texture. Those features were derived using the method of Color Moments, Area Based Invariant Moments, Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM), and Local Binary Pattern (LBP). This study’s proposed hybrid features were formed based on the most discriminating and appropriate features. These were yielded by the Correlation-based feature selection (CFS) method. The hybrid features were then fed into several classifiers to determine the batik pattern. The pattern consists of ten classes: Asem Arang, Asem Sinom, Asem Warak, Blekok, Blekok Warak, Gambang Semarangan, Kembang Sepatu, Semarangan, Tugu Muda, and Warak Beras Utah. Based on the experimental results, the most optimal predicted class of the batik pattern was generated using the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) classifier. It was indicated by achieving an accuracy value of 99.76% based on the 3,000 images (each class consists of 300 images) with cross-validation using a k-fold value of 10. This study has proved that the hybrid features incorporated with ANN can be selected as a suitable model to classify the batik patterns.

    This research investigates consumer reviews of eco-friendly products on Amazon to uncover valuable sustainability insights that can inform design optimization. Using natural language processing (NLP) techniques, including sentiment analysis, key terms extraction, and topic modeling, this research reveals diverse perspectives related to sustainability aspects in eco-friendly products. Innovatively, we integrate the NLP approach with correspondence analysis (CA) to understand consumer sentiments and preferences related to sustainability aspects. Leveraging CA, we visualize the interplay between eco-friendly product features and consumer sentiments, revealing underlying relationships and patterns. The CA biplot showcases the alignment of specific sustainability attributes with consumer satisfaction, highlighting which sustainability aspects hold greater influence over overall product ratings. As sustainability becomes an increasingly crucial aspect of consumer choices, our paper emphasizes the significance of a multidimensional approach that embraces both qualitative and quantitative insights. By blending CA with consumer reviews, we equip designers and stakeholders with an innovative and comprehensive toolkit to enhance sustainable design practices, paving the way for more informed and effective product development strategies in the realm of eco-friendliness.

    Amidst the terribly rapid changing world of fashion, local Indonesian people are able to maintain the authenticity of their local fashion. The ability to preserve authenticity is reflected in the unique and distinctive nuances of local Indonesian batik. By focusing on the Tuban community, specifically on their life cycle rites, this study aims to reveal the reproductive capacity of the local Indonesian community. Using a qualitative approach, this study discloses how to reproduce the gedhog woven batik cloth in Kerek Village, Tuban, through rituals that are part of their life cycle from birth, marriage, and death. This concept is carried out by ritual rites at various periods of human life, all while wearing gedhog weaved batik cloth, which is regarded a traditional textile (wastra). This survival of batik gedhog against global fashion development. By conducting in-depth interviews, documentation and observation, these specific data was obtained from the raw materials of gedhog batik cloth available. This study found that ritual activities underpin the existence of gedhog woven batik and it is passed on to the younger generation not to mention the economic benefits it provides. This research contributes to increase the economy for women weavers and batik artisans who carry out activities in their yard as a daily activity. The results of this study have the possibility to become materials for local governments to make policies related to the efforts in increasing the production of batik and gedhog woven craftsmen at the local and national levels.

    Named entity recognition (NER) is a crucial component of various natural language processing (NLP) applications, particularly in healthcare. It involves accurately identifying and extracting named entities such as medical terms, diseases, and drug names, and healthcare professionals are essential for tasks like clinical text analysis, electronic health record management, and medical research. However, healthcare NER faces challenges, especially in Malay, in which specialized corpora are limited, and no general corpus is available yet. To address this, the paper proposes a method for constructing an annotated corpus of Malay health documents. The researchers leverage a parallel source that contains annotated entities in English due to the limited tools available for the Malay language, and it is very language-dependent. Additional credible Malay documents are incorporated as sources to enhance the development. The targeted health entities in this research include penyakit (diseases), simptom (symptoms), and rawatan (treatments). The primary objective is to facilitate the development of NER algorithms specifically tailored to the healthcare domain in the Malay language. The methodology encompasses data collection, preprocessing, annotation of text in both English and Malay, and corpus creation. The outcome of this research is the establishment of the Malay Health Document Annotated Corpus, which serves as a valuable resource for training and evaluating NLP models in the Malay language. Future research directions may focus on developing domain-specific NER models, exploring alternative algorithms, and enhancing performance. Overall, this research aims to address the challenges of healthcare NER in the Malay language by constructing an annotated corpus and facilitating the development of tailored NER algorithms for the healthcare domain.

    Abstract This article is an imaginary dialogue that is critical of the thoughts of Arnold N. Radjawane, theologian and pastor of the Protestant Church of Maluku (GPM). This is shown in one of the articles he wrote in the 1960s. For some Muslim clerics in Maluku, the article reveals the idea of Christianization through local culture in Maluku, which they believe had hardened Christian-Muslim cultural relations in Maluku. By utilizing hermeneutic and cultural studies, I will analyze the construction of ethnic and religious identity ideas that are affected by his theological ideas. I apply a contemporary mission perspective that dialectically places Christian-Muslim relations as a form of identity negotiation, which has implications for strengthening cultural dialogue and encourages contextual theological processes for the establishment of human relations in Maluku and Indonesia as a multicultural society.

    Authors: Kristina, Claudia Bayu;

    Sentra Tenun Troso ialah salah satu sentra industri kain tenun yang bertempat di Desa Troso, Kecamatan Pecangaan, Kabupaten Jepara Jawa Tengah. Sentra Tenun Troso memiliki daya cipta saing yang tinggi dan menjadi komoditas kedua setelah kerajinan ukir kayu di Jepara. Walaupun Tenun Troso mempunyai sejarah dan keindahan tersendiri, namun masih terdapat kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat, terutama generasi muda, mengenai Sentra Tenun Troso ini. Keterbatasan media yang menyajikan informasi menarik, informatif, dan kreatif mengenai kain tenun Troso, baik dalam bentuk tulisan maupun visual, menyebabkan masyarakat luar hanya mengenal kerajinan ukir di Jepara. Perancangan karya bertujuan tujuan untuk memberikan media yang informatif dan menarik dengan menggali lebih dalam mengenai sejarah dan keunikan tenun Troso Jepara. Ketika melakukan uji publik dengan 49 responden dengan menerapkan 14 poin validasi dengan 5 kriteria penilaian (Sangat Bagus, Bagus, Cukup Bagus, Kurang Bagus, Tidak Bagus), responden sebanyak 57,5% mengatakan sangat bagus, 40,4% mengatakan bagus dan 2,1% mengatakan cukup bagus. Berdasarkan hasil ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa makna dalam Film Dokumenter “Dibalik Serat: Keindahan dan Kearifan Tenun Troso Jepara” dapat tersampaikan dan dipahami oleh responden sehingga Film dokumenter ini layak untuk di publikasikan kepada masyarakat melalui media digital yaitu Youtube. The Troso Weaving Center is one of the woven fabric industry centers located in Troso Village, Pecangaan District, Jepara Regency, Central Java. The Troso Weaving Center has high competitive creativity and is the second commodity after wood carving crafts in Jepara. Even though Troso Weaving has its own history and beauty, there is still a lack of knowledge among the public, especially the younger generation, about the Troso Weaving Center. The limited media that provides interesting, informative and creative information about Troso woven fabric, both in written and visual form, means that outsiders only know about carving crafts in Jepara. The aim of the design of the work is to provide informative and interesting media by digging deeper into the history and uniqueness of Troso Jepara weaving. When conducting a public test with 49 respondents by applying 14 validation points with 5 assessment criteria (Very Good, Good, Fairly Good, Not Good, Not Good), 57.5% of respondents said very good, 40.4% said good and 2 .1% said it was pretty good. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the meaning of the documentary film "Behind Fiber: The Beauty and Wisdom of Troso Jepara Weaving" can be conveyed and understood by respondents so that this documentary film is suitable for publication to the public via digital media, namely YouTube.

    Authors: Wibowo, Nikola Akiega;

    Indonesia, dengan kekayaan budaya yang melimpah, memiliki banyak cerita bersejarah yang menarik untuk dipelajari. Sayangnya, keanekaragaman budaya ini sering tidak dilestarikan secara turun temurun, meskipun banyak bangunan bersejarah yang menjadi objek wisata. Salah satunya adalah Sam Poo Kong, sebuah klenteng di Kota Semarang, Jawa Tengah, yang memiliki sejarah dan cerita menarik. Meskipun sering dianggap hanya sebagai destinasi wisata, bangunan ini sebenarnya memiliki ragam budaya dan kisah bersejarah yang patut dipelajari. Untuk menyebarkan pengetahuan ini dan melestarikan keanekaragaman budaya, penulis berencana membuat video dokumenter yang informatif dan menarik tentang Sam Poo Kong. Dengan demikian, diharapkan masyarakat yang menonton video ini dapat merasakan kepuasan, terhibur, dan mendapatkan wawasan yang lebih mendalam tentang tempat bersejarah ini. Indonesia, with its abundant cultural wealth, has many fascinating historical stories worth exploring. Unfortunately, this cultural diversity is often not preserved from generation to generation, despite many historical buildings becoming tourist attractions. One such example is Sam Poo Kong, a temple in Semarang, Central Java, with a rich history and intriguing stories. Although often seen merely as a tourist destination, this building actually holds a variety of cultural elements and historical tales worth studying. In order to disseminate this knowledge and preserve cultural diversity, the author plans to create an informative and engaging documentary video about Sam Poo Kong. In doing so, it is hoped that viewers will experience satisfaction, entertainment, and gain a deeper understanding of this historical site

    Background: Background: Ant-nest (Myrmecodia pendans) is an epiphytic plant that can prevent several diseases, including bacterial infections. Diarrhea is caused by Escherichia coli bacteria, while infections in the oral cavity can be caused by Enterococcus faecalis bacteria. Antibacterial activity is also influenced by conditions of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). Antioxidants are needed to inhibit the formation of excess ROS in the body. Superoxide anion radicals are included in the generation of ROS, which is produced by several enzymes, such as nicotinamide-adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) oxidase or commonly known as Nox and xanthine oxidase (XO). Objective: This study aimed to determine the potential of M. pendans as an antibacterial in vitro and in silico correlation in the formation of superoxide anion radicals. Methods: The compounds were obtained by column chromatography method, followed by a spectroscopic examination. In vitro test using the disc diffusion method and in silico test using AutoDock 4.2 program were conducted with positive control fosfomycin and allopurinol, tethered to MurA, Nox, and XO enzymes, and visualized using the Discovery Studio 2020. Results: Compound 1 (oleanolic acid) and compound 2 (pomolic acid) demonstrated antibacterial activity against E. coli but no activity against E. faecalis. Compound 3 (3-hydroxy-eupan-20,24-dien-26-oic acid) demonstrated no activity against these two bacteria. Based on the in silico results, compound 3 had the best binding energy affinity for all MurA, Nox, and XO enzymes of -6.89, -9.35, and -9.75 Kcal/mol, respectively. Similarly, compounds 1 and 2 had good binding energies for Nox protein of -9.29 Kcal/mol and -6.54 Kcal/mol and XO of -7.66 and -4.7 Kcal/mol, respectively. Conclusion: In vitro results against E. coli and E. faecalis bacteria showed inhibition by compounds 1 and 2 but not by compound 3. Meanwhile, in in silico analysis, all the compounds showed potential as an inhibitor of superoxide anion radicals generated by enzymes Nox and XO.
