A new R744 refrigeration system is needed to cool down the detectors, namely ATLAS and CMS, of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN in Geneva. A R744-R744 cascade system is planned having a primary 2-stage compression loop and an oil-free, pumped secondary loop. To guarantee a stable and reliable operation of the plant, on one hand, two demonstration plants are built: System A for the evaluation of its control logic and System B for the analysis of the behavior of the refrigerant regarding the height difference (78m). On the other hand, simulations are done in Dymola tool. Two data sets extracted from the demonstration plant (System A) on-site as well as the results of the simulations are stored here.

Stunning by carbon dioxide (CO2) inhalation is controversial, and excitatory behaviour is commonly observed. It is still unknown which behaviours indicate transition into unconsciousness. Our study objective was to investigate loss of consciousness by linking physiological variables to the start of behaviours observed during CO2 inhalation. The dataset consist of physiological and behavioural data used in the study. icollect, 5.0

The pilot air quality study took place in Longyearbyen from 26.06.2018 to 15.08.2018. The chemiluminescence NO/NO2/NOx Analyzer (model T200), UV Fluorescence SO2 analyser (model T100) and photometric O3 analyser (T400) were placed in the office at the third floor at the University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS), where the inlet of the sampling hose was fixed outside from the window. The SO2 and NOx monitors have been calibrated in-situ with use of zero-air generator and standard SO2 and NO gases with concentration of 361 ppb and 777ppb, respectively. The O3 monitor was weekly calibrated online by the technical personnel from the Norwegian Institute for Air Research. Similar measurements have been performed in Ny-Ålesund and Barentsburg. The data from these settlements is not included in the current archive. However, the measurement results are discussed in the PhD thesis of Alena Dekhtyareva «On local and long-range transported air pollution in Svalbard» (ISBN: 978-82-8236-356-3).

Main snowmobile route to the east coast of Spitzbergen from the Longyearbyen goes along the road through the valley Adventdalen, and therefore there is daily snowmobile traffic in spring season lasting from the end of March to the beginning of May. The chemiluminescence NO/NO2/NOx Analyzer (model T200) was installed in the UNIS CO2 lab in Adventdalen for the period from 23.03.2017 to 15.05.2017. The sensor was calibrated against span and null concentrations weekly, and the data was scaled to avoid zero drift. Current dataset represents concentration of NO, NO2 and NOx in the air during the spring snowmobile season at Svalbard. One can compare the concentration with other remote places in the Arctic during night-time with low snowmobile traffic. The influence of emissions from snowmobiles on the background concentration of NOx in Adventdalen has been studied together with the meteorological data from Adventdalen.
