    The OG2021 corpus contains multilingual news articles that are reporting on the events happening during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. The data set was created to evaluate the clustering algorithm. The articles were initially acquired via the EventRegistry service, clustered using an online news clustering algorithm, and finally manually inspected and annotated by a single evaluator using translation services to understand the meaning of the articles' content. The corpus consists of a single file called og2021.csv, which contains the data of 10.940 news articles grouped into 1.350 clusters. Each article has the following attributes: - id: The ID of the news article. - title: The title of the article. - lang: The language in which the article is written. Can be one of nine values. - source: The news publisher's name. - published_at: The date and time when the article was published. The published dates range between 2021-07-01 and 2021-08-14. - URL: The URL location of the news article. - cluster_id: The ID of the cluster the article is a member of. The dataset is also published with the body attribute but under a more restrictive licence. It can be found at http://hdl.handle.net/11356/1921.

    Online Appendix for A GIS Analysis of Coastal Proximity with a Prehistoric Greek Case Study, in the Journal of Computer Applications in Archaeology, 7(1): 170–184. DOI: https://doi.org/10.5334/jcaa.143 Contained in this dataset is the appendix with the results of the analyses, as well as the DEM and Cost-surface files and three .csv files which contain the Geospatial data for each of the sites mentioned in-text. It is then possible for those interested to reproduce this analysis using the steps outlined in the original article. Also included are the results of the analyses in the form of .csv files for an alternative data source in addition to the PDF file.

    ESIC (Europarl Simultaneous Interpreting Corpus) is a corpus of 370 speeches (10 hours) in English, with manual transcripts, transcribed simultaneous interpreting into Czech and German, and parallel translations. The corpus contains source English videos and audios. The interpreters' voices are not published within the corpus, but there is a tool that downloads them from the web of European Parliament, where they are publicly avaiable. The transcripts are equipped with metadata (disfluencies, mixing voices and languages, read or spontaneous speech, etc.), punctuated, and with word-level timestamps. The speeches in the corpus come from the European Parliament plenary sessions, from the period 2008-11. Most of the speakers are MEP, both native and non-native speakers of English. The corpus contains metadata about the speakers (name, surname, id, fraction) and about the speech (date, topic, read or spontaneous). ESIC has validation and evaluation parts. The current version is ESIC v1.1, it extends v1.0 with manual sentence alignment of the tri-parallel texts, and with bi-parallel sentence alignment of English original transcripts and German interpreting.

    Authors: Bartlet Balicki, Holly; Rempel, Jane;

    This paper presents the results of research conducted to investigate the contribution of network approaches when exploring past interaction and connectivity within trade, using Greek transport amphorae data. Using social network analysis (SNA), a tool used to investigate social structure, static amphorae distribution data are brought together in a relational and dynamic way. A specific dataset generated from amphorae data collected from nineteen sites around the Black Sea, between the seventh and first centuries BCE, was used in the SNA. The Black Sea was an integral part of the protoglobal ancient world, however, for historical reasons, this region has been secondary to the interests of western scholars. Using the Black Sea as a case study not only revealed patterns in trade dynamics in this region, but also served to bring Black Sea studies to the foreground when studying the ancient Mediterranean. SNA was conducted over two case studies, applying bipartite and co-occurrence network approaches. This approach transformed small and disparate datasets into a cohesive body of evidence, helping to reveal dynamic patterns within the dataset through network graphs and metrics. This research has provided a proof of concept for SNA as a tool that can be used to investigate patterns related to trade dynamics through transport amphorae distributions. The results help to understand nuances between methodological approaches to material culture networks investigating ancient trade and demonstrates how patterns revealed using SNA can encourage researchers to ask new and valuable questions about archaeological data. Greek transport amphorae dataset in paper 'Considering Social Network Analysis: A Black Sea case study investigating trade dynamics in the Ancient Greek World' by H Bartlet Balicki and J Rempel.

    Issu de la gestion de l’aménagement du territoire et du parcours de vie des bâtiments, le jumeau numérique 3D est un outil déjà bien défini avec des formats interopérables, standardisés et des chaînes opératoires/process éprouvés (collaboratives, traçabilité des fichiers et de leurs modifications, etc.). Le présent projet de collaboration institutionnel se propose d’appliquer le maquettage 3D pour fournir, non pas une cinématique 3D esthétisante de plus, mais un véritable S.I.G 3D aux potentialités d’études immersives importantes. Un outil en quatre dimensions (référentiel euclidien et variable temporelle), regroupant les problématiques de conservation et de recherche, est, désormais, indispensable pour la gestion conservatoire et scientifique de la grotte Cosquer (Marseille, Bouche du Rhône. Les précédentes preuves de concept issues de projets SHS ont prouvé la pertinence de lier l’expertise du CSTB aux objets patrimoniaux numériques issus de la recherche en sciences humaines et sociales. Le retour d’expérience du CSTB face à l’étude de la résistance et du vieillissement des matériaux sera, tout particulièrement, attendu face aux problématiques de conservation de « Cosquer ». Cette mise en place numérique peut, également, palier à la grande difficulté d’accès à « Cosquer » et au temps d’intervention très réduit in situ. Autant immergé que submergé, l’espace d’étude sera celui du gisement archéologique et de la zone immédiatement autour de ce dernier. La création du jumeau numérique « Cosquer » permettra le travail collaboratif des différents personnels scientifiques et des organismes collaborant aux études actuelles ou à venir (Inrap, CNP, Musées, MCC, LAMPEA, AMU, SRA, etc.).

    This collection of photographs was compiled as part of the MaltaPot project at the University of Malta. This project aims to enhance the understanding of pottery technology and provenancein Neolithic Malta, mainly dating to the Għar Dalam, Skorba (Early Neolithic), and Zebbuġ (Late Neolithic) phases. This collection presents sherds from the Skorba phase, photographs, and microphotographs and lists their archaeological contexts and form. This collection was prepared thanks to the information from the National Museum of Archaeology (NMA), Malta, and the FRAGSUS project. The project used multiple techniques to characterise the pottery sherds, such as microscopy, polarised light microscope, X-Ray Fluorescence or X-Ray Diffraction. This collection presents the sherds not analysed using these destructive techniques, although they had a section ground flat for microphotography. Data collection was carried out between 2018-2020 by Dr Brogan. The document was compiled by 2023 Ms Richard-Trémeau. Photographs can be used if credited. This upload contains a PDF document and two zip files with the macroscopic photograph (Exterior surface) and the microphotographs. This upload complements the upload MaltaPot Għar Dalam photograph collection (MPotPhotosGD2023v1); 10.5281/zenodo.7941624

    The natural gamma radiation (NGR) data were acquired each 10 cm (see details below) on fluvio-lacustrine and palustrine sediment materials, from the continental CDB1 drill-core located in the Rennes Basin (Chartres de Bretagne, France, geographic coordinates: 48.04412074N; 1.71899076W, Elevation: +37m NGF, Nivellement Général de France). The studied geological time interval covers the Eocene-Oligocene transition interval, roughly from 31 to 38.5 Ma. NGR measurements were conducted by the Semm Logging company during the drilling campaign of the CINERGY project (CDB1 borehole) during summer 2010, under the supervision of BRGM (Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières, France), on behalf the contracting authority of Chartres-de Bretagne. The main objective of the CINERGY project was to explore the Cenozoic cover of the Armorican shield preserved in a small strike-slip basin. The CINERGY Project was funded by the BRGM, the AELB (Agence de l'Eau Loire-Bretagne) and the ADEME (Agence de l'Environnement et de la Maitrise de l'Energie) French agencies. The NGR probe used during the CDB1 well logging consists of a scintillation detector (sodium iodide crystal coupled to a photo-multiplication tube), which converts gamma rays into electric pulses. The measured values are expressed in API (American Petroleum Institute) unit. This unit was calculated using a linear interpolation of raw data expressed in pulses per second (pps) according to a calibration set with a very stable source, the radioactivity of which is known in API unit. Because disintegration is a random phenomenon, raw measurements taken every 2 cm are integrated over a 25 cm long window and restored at a 10 cm step, which is consistent both with the crystal size and the average dip of the strata, nearly 15 degrees.
