    L’analyse des temporalités des carrières d’artistes plasticiens permet de mettre en évidence la normalisation du parcours professionnel des artistes sur celui du modèle en entreprise. La valorisation de la jeunesse, à la fois par les acteurs institutionnels publics mais également par les acteurs privés du milieu de l’art contemporain, à travers l’émergence de la catégorie taxinomique de «jeune artiste», a conduit à l’instauration rigide de prescriptions temporelles, s’articulant autour du moment charnière des quarante ans : les artistes doivent avoir pu exploiter leur potentiel de création jusqu’à cet âge, au risque sinon de tomber dans l’oubli. Quelles stratégies les artistes mettent-ils en place pour composer avec cette norme en terme d’âge? The analysis of the temporalities of visual artists' paths highlights a normalization of artists' career on the basis of the model found in firms. The valorization of youth both by institutional public actors as well as individual actors from the contemporary art scene can be observed with regard to the rise of the taxonomical category of "youth artist". This has led to a rigid establishment of temporal prescriptions on forty years of age as a turning point: artists should have achieved their full creative potential until this age in order not to fall in oblivion. What kind of strategies do the artists appropriate in order to cope with this ageist norm?

    Des vestiges mésohelladiques sont apparus jusqu'ici dans deux secteurs d'Erétrie (Eubée centrale), d'une part sous l'agora de la cité classique, dans une zone qui devait se situer sur le rivage à l’âge du Bronze, d'autre part au sommet de l'acropole. Alors que le premier a été abandonné dès le début de l’HM, le second semble n’avoir été occupé que pendant la deuxième moitié ou même seulement à la fin de la période. Ce constat pose la question de savoir s’il y a bien une lacune dans l’occupation du site et, si oui, pourquoi les habitants se sont déplacés. Dans ce cadre, les rapports entre Erétrie et ses voisines Lefkandi et Amarynthos sont aussi à prendre en considération. International audience

    Saint-Laurent's priory is situated in the lower enclosure of the small town of Palluau-sur-Indre (Indre, France), at the foot of the slope dominated by the 12th century castle and the 13th century collegiate church of Sainte-Menhoulde. Today, the site is comprised of an enclosure with a church composed of an aisled nave with an apse and a crypt. Wall paintings are preserved inside the church which suggest an early dedication to the Holy Virgin which was changed to Saint-Laurent in the 15th century.Drainage work in the streets around the church brought to light occupation layers belonging to the 16th and 17th century around the apse. A test trench to the south of the building showed evidence for the southern arm of the transept which was demolished in the 19th century: walls, foundations and 12th century floor levels were recorded just below the actual surface. The area south of the nave yielded two masonry tombs from the 12th to the 14th century. These were under a horizon of later but undated graves where the presence of bronze pins showed that the bodies were buried in shrouds. The western limit of the cemetery was defined by a north-south wall perpendicular to the butress of the second bay of the nave. This wall seemed to be a later structure which cut through the levels of the last layer of burials. Other inhulations were observed in front of the western facade.; Le prieuré Saint-Laurent se trouve dans la ville basse du bourg de Palluau, au pied du coteau dominé par le château (en partie XIIe s.) et la collégiale Sainte-Menehoulde (avant premier tiers XIIIe s.). Il consiste aujourd’hui en une église composée d’une nef à collatéraux, utilisée comme habitation privée, un transept et un chevet à abside sur une crypte. L’ensemble, construit entre la deuxième moitié du XIe s. et le début du XIIe s., comporte des peintures murales importantes. L’analyse de celles-ci laisse entrevoir un vocable primitif dédié à la Vierge avec un changement vers celui deSaint-Laurent au XVe siècle. Les travaux de canalisation dans la rue qui contourne les côtés ouest, sud et est de l’église ont nécessité un diagnostic archéologique sous la forme d’une ouverture anticipée des tranchées. La stratigraphie autour du chevet consiste en des couches d’occupation et des remblais datables des XVIe et XVIIe siècles. Un sondage au sud du croisement du transept a mis en évidence les vestiges des murs du transept sud, démolis au cours du XIXe siècle, ainsi que des niveaux de sol ancien (XIIe s. ?) à une très faible profondeur. Le secteur au sud de la nef a livré deux caissons funéraires maçonnés connus du XIIe au XIVe s., très abîmés par des perturbations récentes. Enfouis à 30 cm de profondeur, il semblerait que le sol ancien était au même niveau que celui d’aujourd’hui.Ces caissons recouvrent un horizon de sépultures en pleine terre avec linceul (traces d’épingles en bronze), orientées est-ouest mais non datées. L’espace funéraire semble être délimité à l’ouest par un mur nord-sud perpendiculaire au début de la deuxième travées de la nef et construit après la condamnation du premier horizon de sépultures. Une autre sépulture observée au pied de la façade ouest indique que ce secteur servait également de lieu d’inhumation.

    Authors: Gaudin, Loïc;

    Afin d'étudier et de représenter l'évolution spatio-temporelle de la végétation du nord-ouest de la France depuis la fin de la dernière glaciation, un protocole mettant en œuvre des outils d'analyses cartographiques (SIG) et statistiques a été mis au point. Ce travail a entraîné la saisie d'environ 150000 données géoréférencées (archéobotaniques, géographiques, archéologiques, édaphiques, géologiques, météorologiques...) et des méthodes d'analyses ont été développées. Ainsi, pour chaque période chronologique on a cherché à obtenir : - des tendances de la répartition spatiale des données archéobotaniques (ex. krigeage des taux de pollen d'arbres), - des corrélations spatiales entre paramètres paléoenvironnementaux et activités humaines, (ex. distribution des taux de pollen d'arbres et répartition des sites archéologiques), - des analyses globales des données archéobotaniques, anthropiques et abiotiques grâce à l'utilisation d'analyses multivariées (utilisation du principe de la co-inertie). Pour mettre en perspective les résultats archéobotaniques, des reconstitutions paléo-paysagères de trois sites à vocations patrimoniales (culturelles et naturelles) ont été intégrées dans des projets d'aménagements paysagers. To study and to represent space-time evolution of the Armorican vegetation (N-W France) since the end of the last glaciation, a method using cartographic (GIS) and statistical tools was developed. This work involved the recording of 150000 spatial data (archeobotanic, geographical, geological, archaeological...) and analysis methods were developed. Thus, for each period we tried to obtain : - layout trends of the archeobotanic data (e.g. krigeage of the AP), - space correlations between palaeo-environmental parameters and human activities, - global studies of the archeobotanic and abiotic data thanks to multivariate analysis. To promote the archeobotanic results, past-vegetation reconstitutions of three sites with natural or cultural patrimonial vocations were integrated in landscape planning projects. Thèse financée par le CNRS et la Région Bretagne (Bourse Doctorale d'Ingénieur) de 2000 à 2003, suivi d'un poste d'ATER en 2004.

    Authors: Routhier, Élisabeth;

    La disparition est-elle un événement? Une fin? Une figure? Chez l’écrivain français Patrick Modiano, il semble qu’elle prenne plutôt la forme d’une invitation, d’un point de départ pour une écriture-quête se faufilant dans les mailles de la médiation. Le lien inextricable entre la disparition et la médiation est effectivement à la base de cette analyse de « Dora Bruder », roman dont l’ouverture est particulièrement riche pour penser le geste d’écriture d’un point de vue intermédial. Après avoir présenté « Dora Bruder » comme l’espace d’une écriture-quête performative qui répond à un désir d’immédiateté, j’exposerai certains dispositifs traduisant une éthique de la remédiation. La question de la mémoire, inévitable, traverse à la fois l’écriture de Modiano et la mienne. Une mémoire protéiforme et dynamisée par l’auteur-narrateur. What exactly do we mean by “disappearance”? Is it an event? A figure? The end of an existence? For Patrick Modiano, disapearance is rather a starting point for an act of writing that slips through a sum of mediations. The inextricable link between disappearance and (re)mediation is in fact the basis upon which I build my analysis of “Dora Bruder”’s opening pages from an intermedial stance. Ethical remediation and performativity will be the core concepts to analyse Modiano’s writing through the lens of disappearance.

    Authors: Pelaudeix, Cecile;

    Relying on extensive field work, both in remote Arctic communities and outpost camps, and inside Canadian art collections, Cecile Pelaudeix's book presents a critical analysis of the Western perception of Inuit art, the theoretical assumptions underlying art history and anthropology discourse, and proposes a renewed interpretation of Kenojuak Ashevak's work (1959-2002), as well as a new understanding of contemporary Inuit art works at large. The author accords art work a deep meaning by revealing, in a wide range of Inuit art works, an expression of the Inuit soul, an "intensity of being" named tarniq for human beings, which is used to affirm a specific identity, in particular when it comes to feminine works. The method relies mainly on Aby Warburg's iconology. Cecile Pelaudeix shows the limits of a model of linear temporality where cultural time and natural time artificially coincide, arguing that such a model does not allow for a convincing articulation of art and history - as Panofsky had proven - and demonstrates the pertinence of an approach that refers to a heterogeneous conception of time. In a first part, the author shows that the process of analyzing, marketing, and displaying Inuit prints reproduce the western motif of the origin and death of art, familiar to modernism. In a second part, the author examines the relation between cultural time and historical time before relying on Warburg's concept of Nachleben and the anthropological definition of sources, to focus on Kenojuak Ashevak's work. Pelaudeix reveals the meaning of beauty in Kenojuak's works, and shows how the artist's prints are anchored in an Inuit shared vision of the world as well as in the innovative way she promotes the Inuit feminine world and explores deeply the dynamic notions of duality, duel and duos. The third part of the book addresses the question of singularity and diversity in art history: the author extends the method to the analysis of other Inuit artists' work. The book concludes on the relevance of the method in understanding what Féneon called "les arts lointains" ("remote arts"), their singularity which cannot be reduced to a fantasized essentialism, and allows for a new approach to art history, a reconfiguration of its own artistic geography.

    1 disque optique numérique (CD-ROM); International audience; La reconstitution virtuelle de la Rome Antique avance vite, très vite. En novembre 1993, ce n'était encore qu'un concept, une idée que m'avait soumise G. Jean-Francois, Directeur du Centre de Ressources Informatiques de l'Université de Caen, et sur laquelle nous travaillions tous les deux, recherchant des partenaires, une méthode, nous interrogeant même sur la faisabilité. Aujourd'hui, c'est un serveur INTERNET, un film interactif, une dizaine de monuments et un quartier entier modélisés, un plan vectoriel, un SIG, des animations en images de synthèse, des centaines de photos engrangées, cinq stations de travail, des conférences, des expositions, des articles, des mémoires..., une quinzaine de personnes au travail. Entre temps, il y eut la construction de la Maison de la Recherche en Sciences Humaines, l'installation en son sein du Plan de Rome de P. Bigot et, à l'instigation de R. Hérin, le directeur de la MRSH, la structuration d'un pôle pluridisciplinaire de recherche intitulé « Architecture, Urbanisme et Image Virtuelle », s’appuyant lui-même sur trois structures déjà existantes : le Centre d'Etudes et de Recherche sur l'Antiquité (CERLA), le Centre de Ressources Informatiques de l'Université de Caen (CRIUC) et le Centre Audio-Visuel (CAV). Cette pluridisciplinarité fait notre force ; elle engendre aussi une grande complexité car nos formations, nos statuts, nos préoccupations quotidiennes, nos horizons sont différents. Pour que nous puissions continuer à travailler ensemble avec le même enthousiasme sur le projet commun, la communication est plus que jamais nécessaire. La communication interne se fait par la réunion hebdomadaire du mercredi mais nous avons également souhaité donner une information extérieure « collective ». Tel est l'objet de cet ouvrage dans lequel le lecteur trouvera côte à côte des textes écrits aussi bien par des enseignants-chercheurs et des ingénieurs (ou élèves-ingénieurs) que par des étudiants de troisième cycle. Nous n'avons d'autre ambition que de faire connaître, à un instant donné, l'état de nos travaux et recherches sur la transmission de nos données par les réseaux, leur utilisation pédagogique, la constitution d'un système d'information Géographique, la modélisation sur station de travail, la réalisation des films ou des animations en images de synthèses et la mise en place d'un serveur WEB.

    International audience; 2008-2019, more than a decade of exchanges and debates around ecological restoration in France.The REVER 10 conference “Restoring or recovering” organized by MNHN (National Museum of Natural History) and REVER association in March 2019, was an opportunity to review the development of restoration ecology and ecological restoration, as the “Decade of Ecosystem Res-toration” was being proclaimed by the UN. In France, the development of ecological restoration has been guided by the REVER association, a network created in 2008, on the model of the SER (Society for Ecological Restoration). It contributes to organizing annual conferences, promotes exchanges between technical and scientific stakeholders and the diffusion of knowledge, con-cepts and practices. These exchanges were particularly important at a time when, over the same period, research and feedbacks from restoration projects had been leading to an evolution and a strengthening of concepts through numerous scientific debates around, in particular, the notion of reference ecosystems, novel ecosystems and passive restoration. Today more than ever, even if conservation must remain a priority, the challenges we face in ecological restoration make it es-sential to strengthen both the acquisition of knowledge and restoration actions. Thus, scientific dissemination, the design of evaluation tools and of decision support systems and exchanges around restoration project feedbacks remain essential in which REVER along with international structures have an undeniable role to play.; Le colloque REVER 10 « Restaurer ou reconquérir » organisé en mars 2019 par le MNHN et l’association REVER, a été l’occasion de faire un point d’étape sur le développement de l’écologie de la restauration et de la restauration écologique, au moment où débute la « décennie de la restauration des écosystèmes » décrétée par l’ONU. En France, le développement de la restauration écologique a été accompagnée par le réseau REVER créé en 2008 sur le modèle de la SER (Society for Ecological Restoration) qui favorise, notamment par l’organisation de colloques annuels, les échanges entre acteurs techniques et scientifiques ainsi que la circulation des connaissances, des concepts et des pratiques. Ces échanges ont été particulièrement importants au moment où, sur la même période, la recherche et les retours d’expériences ont conduit à une évolution et à un confortement des concepts par de nombreux débats scientifiques autour notamment des notions d’écosystèmes de référence, de nouveaux écosystèmes et de restauration passive. Aujourd’hui plus que jamais, même si la préservation doit rester une priorité, les enjeux de la restauration rendent indispensable le renforcement tant de l’acquisition de connaissances que de l’action. Ainsi la diffusion scientifique, la construction d’outils d’évaluation et d’aide à la décision et les échanges autour de retours d’expériences restent primordiaux et le réseau REVER, en lien avec les structures internationales, a un rôle indéniable à jouer.

    Des vestiges mésohelladiques sont apparus jusqu'ici dans deux secteurs d'Erétrie (Eubée centrale), d'une part sous l'agora de la cité classique, dans une zone qui devait se situer sur le rivage à l’âge du Bronze, d'autre part au sommet de l'acropole. Alors que le premier a été abandonné dès le début de l’HM, le second semble n’avoir été occupé que pendant la deuxième moitié ou même seulement à la fin de la période. Ce constat pose la question de savoir s’il y a bien une lacune dans l’occupation du site et, si oui, pourquoi les habitants se sont déplacés. Dans ce cadre, les rapports entre Erétrie et ses voisines Lefkandi et Amarynthos sont aussi à prendre en considération. International audience

  • Authors: Bryant, Simon;

    Saint-Laurent's priory is situated in the lower enclosure of the small town of Palluau-sur-Indre (Indre, France), at the foot of the slope dominated by the 12th century castle and the 13th century collegiate church of Sainte-Menhoulde. Today, the site is comprised of an enclosure with a church composed of an aisled nave with an apse and a crypt. Wall paintings are preserved inside the church which suggest an early dedication to the Holy Virgin which was changed to Saint-Laurent in the 15th century.Drainage work in the streets around the church brought to light occupation layers belonging to the 16th and 17th century around the apse. A test trench to the south of the building showed evidence for the southern arm of the transept which was demolished in the 19th century: walls, foundations and 12th century floor levels were recorded just below the actual surface. The area south of the nave yielded two masonry tombs from the 12th to the 14th century. These were under a horizon of later but undated graves where the presence of bronze pins showed that the bodies were buried in shrouds. The western limit of the cemetery was defined by a north-south wall perpendicular to the butress of the second bay of the nave. This wall seemed to be a later structure which cut through the levels of the last layer of burials. Other inhulations were observed in front of the western facade.; Le prieuré Saint-Laurent se trouve dans la ville basse du bourg de Palluau, au pied du coteau dominé par le château (en partie XIIe s.) et la collégiale Sainte-Menehoulde (avant premier tiers XIIIe s.). Il consiste aujourd’hui en une église composée d’une nef à collatéraux, utilisée comme habitation privée, un transept et un chevet à abside sur une crypte. L’ensemble, construit entre la deuxième moitié du XIe s. et le début du XIIe s., comporte des peintures murales importantes. L’analyse de celles-ci laisse entrevoir un vocable primitif dédié à la Vierge avec un changement vers celui deSaint-Laurent au XVe siècle. Les travaux de canalisation dans la rue qui contourne les côtés ouest, sud et est de l’église ont nécessité un diagnostic archéologique sous la forme d’une ouverture anticipée des tranchées. La stratigraphie autour du chevet consiste en des couches d’occupation et des remblais datables des XVIe et XVIIe siècles. Un sondage au sud du croisement du transept a mis en évidence les vestiges des murs du transept sud, démolis au cours du XIXe siècle, ainsi que des niveaux de sol ancien (XIIe s. ?) à une très faible profondeur. Le secteur au sud de la nef a livré deux caissons funéraires maçonnés connus du XIIe au XIVe s., très abîmés par des perturbations récentes. Enfouis à 30 cm de profondeur, il semblerait que le sol ancien était au même niveau que celui d’aujourd’hui.Ces caissons recouvrent un horizon de sépultures en pleine terre avec linceul (traces d’épingles en bronze), orientées est-ouest mais non datées. L’espace funéraire semble être délimité à l’ouest par un mur nord-sud perpendiculaire au début de la deuxième travées de la nef et construit après la condamnation du premier horizon de sépultures. Une autre sépulture observée au pied de la façade ouest indique que ce secteur servait également de lieu d’inhumation.

    Afin d'étudier et de représenter l'évolution spatio-temporelle de la végétation du nord-ouest de la France depuis la fin de la dernière glaciation, un protocole mettant en œuvre des outils d'analyses cartographiques (SIG) et statistiques a été mis au point. Ce travail a entraîné la saisie d'environ 150000 données géoréférencées (archéobotaniques, géographiques, archéologiques, édaphiques, géologiques, météorologiques...) et des méthodes d'analyses ont été développées. Ainsi, pour chaque période chronologique on a cherché à obtenir : - des tendances de la répartition spatiale des données archéobotaniques (ex. krigeage des taux de pollen d'arbres), - des corrélations spatiales entre paramètres paléoenvironnementaux et activités humaines, (ex. distribution des taux de pollen d'arbres et répartition des sites archéologiques), - des analyses globales des données archéobotaniques, anthropiques et abiotiques grâce à l'utilisation d'analyses multivariées (utilisation du principe de la co-inertie). Pour mettre en perspective les résultats archéobotaniques, des reconstitutions paléo-paysagères de trois sites à vocations patrimoniales (culturelles et naturelles) ont été intégrées dans des projets d'aménagements paysagers. To study and to represent space-time evolution of the Armorican vegetation (N-W France) since the end of the last glaciation, a method using cartographic (GIS) and statistical tools was developed. This work involved the recording of 150000 spatial data (archeobotanic, geographical, geological, archaeological...) and analysis methods were developed. Thus, for each period we tried to obtain : - layout trends of the archeobotanic data (e.g. krigeage of the AP), - space correlations between palaeo-environmental parameters and human activities, - global studies of the archeobotanic and abiotic data thanks to multivariate analysis. To promote the archeobotanic results, past-vegetation reconstitutions of three sites with natural or cultural patrimonial vocations were integrated in landscape planning projects. Thèse financée par le CNRS et la Région Bretagne (Bourse Doctorale d'Ingénieur) de 2000 à 2003, suivi d'un poste d'ATER en 2004.

    La disparition est-elle un événement? Une fin? Une figure? Chez l’écrivain français Patrick Modiano, il semble qu’elle prenne plutôt la forme d’une invitation, d’un point de départ pour une écriture-quête se faufilant dans les mailles de la médiation. Le lien inextricable entre la disparition et la médiation est effectivement à la base de cette analyse de « Dora Bruder », roman dont l’ouverture est particulièrement riche pour penser le geste d’écriture d’un point de vue intermédial. Après avoir présenté « Dora Bruder » comme l’espace d’une écriture-quête performative qui répond à un désir d’immédiateté, j’exposerai certains dispositifs traduisant une éthique de la remédiation. La question de la mémoire, inévitable, traverse à la fois l’écriture de Modiano et la mienne. Une mémoire protéiforme et dynamisée par l’auteur-narrateur. What exactly do we mean by “disappearance”? Is it an event? A figure? The end of an existence? For Patrick Modiano, disapearance is rather a starting point for an act of writing that slips through a sum of mediations. The inextricable link between disappearance and (re)mediation is in fact the basis upon which I build my analysis of “Dora Bruder”’s opening pages from an intermedial stance. Ethical remediation and performativity will be the core concepts to analyse Modiano’s writing through the lens of disappearance.

    Authors: Pelaudeix, Cecile;
