    Authors: Wiersum, K.F.;

    Forestry has been defined as a profession embracing the science and the practice of creating, conserving, and managing forests for the continuing use of these resources. Since its inception in the 18th century it has gradually evolved in character in response to changing social values. At the end of the 1970s a new concept was introduced in forestry, i.e. social forestry. This approach focuses specificly on the forest-related needs of local communities in tropical countries, and on stimulating community involvement in the sustainable management of forest resources. It has been suggested that the development of social forestry implies a paradigmatic change in forestry. This suggestion is contested, however.The objective of this study is to contribute towards the elucidation of the question whether the emergence of the concept of social forestry has indeed brought about a paradigmatic change in forestry. A paradigm involves the total set of disciplinary commitments; this disciplinary matrix includes a basic world-view, normative perspectives and conceptual generalizations as well as ideal-typical exemplars for problem-solving. Both scientists and professionals may adhere to such normative commitments. Consequently, the suggestion of a paradigmatic change in forestry may be related either to forestry as a science or forestry as a professional institution.The study consists of four analytical steps. First a short overview of the history of forestry and of one of its major conceptual generalizations, i.e. sustainability, is given, and the nature of the disciplinary matrix of conventional forestry is identified. Next the development of social forestry is described. This forestry approach is conceptualized as involving forestry policies designed and implemented by professional foresters, and community forest management practices executed by local communities, who are not professionally-trained in forestry. It cannot be assumed that the normative perspectives of these two categories of practitioners are similar. The third step of analysis therefore consists of a comparison of the perspectives of these two categories of forestry practitioners; it shows major differences in normative perspectives. The last step of analysis focuses on how the recognition of such differences has impacted on forestry science and professional practice. It is concluded that social forestry involves major changes in both role- and rule-orientation of professional foresters. The role of professional foresters is not considered any longer as being ideal-typical forest managers, but also as being facilitators of community forestry. Consequently, several new concepts and theories concerning social coordination in forestry evolved.Forestry science became more empirically oriented by paying attention to all possible forest management conditions rather than to professionally-controlled forest management situations only. These changes in forestry science can best be considered as an evolutionary change rather than a paradigmatic one. However, the differentiation in tasks of professional foresters and the loosening of the close institutional links between forestry scientists and professional practitioners can be considered as involving a paradigmatic change in forestry as professional institution.

    ÖZ BETONARME ÇERÇEVELERİN BETONARME DOLGU DUVARLARLA ONARIMI GÜRSES, Hakan Yüksek Lisans, İnşaat Mühendisliği Bölümü Tez Yöneticisi : Prof. Dr. Uğur Ersoy Ocak 1998, 89 sahife Depremde hasar gören binaların betonarme dolgulu duvarlarla onarımı ve güçlendirilmesi, oldukça ilgi çeken ve pratikte uygulanan bir yöntemdir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, betonarme dolgu duvarlarla onarılan betonarme çerçevelerin, deprem yükleri etkisinde davranışlarını incelemektir. Bu amaçla iki katlı, tek açıklıklı bir betonarme çerçeve deprem etkilerini temsil eden tersinir yükler altında hasar oluşuncaya kadar yüklenmiş, onarılıp güçlendirildikten sonrakırılıncaya kadar test edilmiştir. Betonarme dolgunun tipi ve betonarme dolgu ile çerçevenin bağlantı şekli deneylerin önemli noktaları olmuştur. Deney sonucunda betonarme dolgunun dayanım, rijitlik, yanal ötelenme ve süneklik üzerindeki etkileri belirlenmiştir. Dolgulu çerçeve modelinin dayanım ve rijitliği yönetmeliklerin ve araştırmacıların önerdiği ampirik formüllerle hesaplanmıştır. Analitik sonuçlarla deney sonuçları karşılaştırılmıştır. Anahtar kelimeler : Dolgulu çerçeve, betonarme, onarım, tersinen yükler, deprem. vı ABSTRACT REPAIRING OF REINFORCED CONCRETE FRAMES WITH REINFORCED CONCRETE INFILLS GÜRSES, Hakan M. Sc. in The Department of Civil Engineering Supervisor : Prof. Dr. Uğur Ersoy January 1998, 89 pages Repairing of framed structures damaged by an earthquake, using reinforced concrete infills, is commonly used in practice. The studies on this subject is increasing every day. The objective of this research was to investigate the behaviour of a repaired structure under lateral loads. A two-story, one-bay bare frame was tested under reversed cyclic loading. The frame was strengthened by placing a reinforced concrete infill and tested to infailure under a load history simulating the seismic action. Test results were evaluated to understand the effect of infill on strength, stiffness and lateral drift. Strength and stiffness were calculated by the empirical formulas proposed by the researchers and code recommendations. The results of the analytical predictions and experimental observations were compared. Key words : repairing, infilled frames, reinforced concrete, cyclic loading IV 89

In the continuation is described a former affiliation of Slovenia as well as the spatial planning documents that were in use until the Slovenia joint Yugoslavia (last part in 1919). This legislation from former Austro-Hungarian monarchy was valid almost until 1950 in some parts of Yugoslavia even longer. Upon that will be mentioned some valid Slovenian spatial documents which will be compared with the German legislation. Analyzed will be the number of architect and spatial planners in Slovenia and also their number upon certain region in Slovenia. Based on that will be given also the number from statistical office of Slovenia of the number of buildings between years 2007 and 2012, and described also the collapse of the major construction companies in Slovenia and consequences of that. At the end will be outlined the morality and ethics by spatial interventions and lack of the architectural law in Slovenia as well as the problematic of minimal collaboration between the Ministry of infrastructure and spatial planning with the profession.

    Authors: Irene del Rey Carchenilla;

    Resumen En este artículo se analizan los problemas que presentan la clasificación de los prefijos y los ejercicios sobre prefijación en los libros de secundaria. La asignatura de Lengua castellana y Literatura debe aportar al alumno herramientas y conocimientos necesarios para que pueda desenvolverse en cualquier situación comunicativa. Uno de estos conocimientos es la gramática. Se comenta en estas páginas que los ejercicios tanto de identificación y etiquetado de prefijos como los de producción no favorecen la capacidad de los estudiantes para observar, argumentar, reflexionar y, en concreto, comprender las estructuras morfológicas. Nos centramos en el estudio de los prefijos en el ámbito de la Enseñanza Secundaria Obligatoria a través de una muestra de actividades que favorecen el desarrollo de la capacidad crítica del alumno para observar fenómenos morfológicos y formular generalizaciones a un nivel elemental. Así, la enseñanza de los prefijos debe tener en cuenta distintos componentes como el semántico, el sintáctico y el pragmático. Abstract This paper examines the issues which are identified in the lists of prefixes and activities which are related to prefixes in Secondary Education books. The Spanish Language and Literature subject may provide the students with the necessary tools and knowledge which will give them the essential knowledge to manage any communicational situation. One of these knowledges are the grammar. In the following pages we discuss that the exercises of identification and labeling of prefixes and production do not improve students’ ability to observe, argue, reflect, and, specifically, understand morphologic structures. Our research focuses on the use of prefixes in the Secondary Education level, throughout a variety of activities which favour the development of student’s critical thinking ability to observe morphological phemomena and to create generalizations at a basic level. Thus, teaching prefixes must take into account different components like the semantic, the syntactic and the pragmatic.

    Provenance texts contain information on the different parties involved in the events that characterize the ownership history of an artwork. Structuring provenance data represents an opportunity for institutions to not only be users of but also contributors to shared vocabularies, such as the Getty's Union List of Artist Names (ULAN).

    This paper presents results of technical, functional and stylistic analyses on pottery from two Early Neolithic sites on Öland – Resmo and Runsbäck. Analyses include thin sections and XRF of clays and wares, lipid residue analysis and recording of stylistic attributes. The two sites are situated 15 km apart on the west side of the island. C14 dates place the activities at the sites at c. 3900–3600 BC and 3600–3100 BC respectively. While overall similarities are obvious, some structured differences are noted in the design as well as in the wares whereas vessel use patterns are strikingly similar between the two assemblages. In general, the Resmo assemblage is characterised by great homogeneity while the Runsbäck pottery displays more variation. It is suggested that the observed differences reflect differences in function and duration between the analysed sites. Dieser Beitrag präsentiert Ergebnisse technologischer, funktionaler und stilistischer Analysen von Keramik zweier frühneolithischer Fundplätze auf Öland- Resmo und Runsbäck. Die Analysen enthalten Dünnschliffuntersuchungen und Röntgenfluoreszenzanalyen von Rohtonen und Keramik, ebenso wie Lipidanalysen und stilistische Untersuchungen. Die beiden Fundplätze liegen 15 km voneinander entfernt auf der Westseite der Insel. C14-Daten weisen jeweils auf Aktivitäten im Zeitraum von ca. 3900-3600 BC und 3600-3100 BC. Trotz genereller Ähnlichkeiten sind einige Unterschiede in Stil und Warenart zu verzeichnen, wogegen die Gebrauchsmuster der Gefäße auf den beiden Fundplätzen auffallend ähnlich sind. Grundsätzlich ist für das Resmo-Inventar charakterisiert durch eine große Homogenität, wogegen die Runsbäck Keramik größere Variabilität zeigt. Die beobachteten Unterschiede werden auf unterschiedliche Funktionen und Belegungsdauer der beiden Fundplätze zurückgeführt.

    Authors: Tomasz Paweł Krzeszowski;

    Grapevine telephone or grapevine telegraph is a popular social game involving a specific way of communication by means of linguistic expressions.The game appears to be a model of communication in general and of translation, as a special case of communication, in particular. All communicative events involve transferring meanings as messages from some person(s) to some other persons directly or indirectly, i.e. via other persons, if necessary including translators, and with or without the help of various technological devices. Every communication event entails communication sequences (Krzeszowski, 2016). A simple communication sequence consists of seven stages: 1. sender’s conceptual, 2. sender’s neural, 3. articulatory (speaking) or graphic (writing), 4. acoustic (spoken text) or graphic (written text), 5. auditory (hearing) or visual (reading), 6. recipient’s-neural, 7. recipient’s-conceptual. Most communication events, both spoken and written, and all translations involve compound communication sequences. Various kinds of distortions are very likely to occur at the stages which separate particular speakers’ conceptual structures from particular hearers’ conceptual structures. Such distortions are mainly due to communication barriers (Krzeszowski, 1997/2013). Translators, like participants in the grapevine telegraph game, may contribute to increasing the number of distortions adversely affecting original messages. The grapevine telegraph effects and the related communication sequences are illustrated by translation series of selected fragments of the Bible (Psalm 78, Jesus Christ’s sermons) in the context of the way in which, according to the faithful, the Bible originated.

    Authors: Wiersum, K.F.;

    Authors: Irene del Rey Carchenilla;
