Materials retrieved in the 1978-1979 campaigns at the site of Cova del Toll were given to Prof. Maria Hopf for analysis. Since no full quantification was provided and no report was available, the material was recently revised by Ferran Antolín. From the recovered remains, it seems that some sediment from different layers excavated was dry-sieved and some larger grains were sorted out. Most of the recovered material dates to the second half of the 5th millennium cal BC. 22 samples were analysed from 7 different squares -arbitrary division of the excavated surface- (N34-35, K17, M43, B107-D104, B107-E104, D104, E104, D104-E104) separated int 11 layers/sublayers (C1, C1b, C1d, C2, C3, C3b, C3c, C4, C5, C5b, C5d). Layers C1, C1b i C1d belong to the Bronze Age, Layer C2 is connected to a Bell Beaker phase and the rest (C3 and C5) are considered Postcardial Neolithic dated to the second half of the 5th millennium cal BC.

We introduce the new comprehensive Open Review–Based dataset (ORB); it includes a curated list of more than 10,000 scientific papers with their more than 31,000 reviews and final decisions. We gather this information from two sources: the OpenReview.net and SciPost.org websites

Founded in 1948 as the official magazine of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, The UNESCO Courier represents an extraordinary resource for research on global themes in the humanities. The complete archive of the magazine is available in PDF form through UNESCO. These files make it possible for users anywhere to read individual issues, but it does not allow for full-text searching, much less any of the computational text analysis methods that have recently made important advances in humanities research. The Curated Courier 1.0 is a package of digital text corpora, text analysis tools, and supplementary materials that makes the complete archive of The UNESCO Courier from 1948 to 2020 machine-readable, accessible, and reusable for digital text analysis. Here on Zenodo we publish two Courier corpora. The first corpus (curated_courier_article_corpus) consists of the texts of all articles published in the English-language edition of The UNESCO Courier between 1948 and 2020. For this corpus we have extracted and reconstructed the complete text of all articles, for example by pulling together non-contiguous pages where necessary and by removing non-article text (masthead, photo captions, letters to the editor, and so on). We have linked each article to a comprehensive curated metadata index, included in the download (document_index.csv). The second corpus (curated_issues) compiles the complete text of all Courier issues (English-language edition), 1948-2020. To prepare this corpus we extracted text from the PDFs that UNESCO has made available, used multiple modes of OCR, and rendered each issue as a simple text file. Our test of the OCR quality finds an average error rate of 0.7 %, which should be considered good quality. Working data from the process can be found in our GitHub repository "tagged Courier." The products, text analysis tools, and additional documentation are in the repository "Curated Courier." The text of The UNESCO Courier is available in Open Access under the Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 IGO (CC-BY-SA 3.0 IGO) license, in the context of UNESCO's open access publications policy. This dataset is published under the most recent version of the same license: Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0 Deed). The ISONET project has been striving to improve greatly our understanding of European climate systems providing independent quantitative data for model verification and policy making. A network of 24 sites provides dendrochronological coverage from Iberia to Fennoscandia, Caledonia and the Tyrol. The stable isotope (C, H, O) ratios of these annually resolved time series shall be analysed within this project, to reconstruct past climate regimes (temperature, relative humidity and precipitation characteristics) for the last 400 years. Climate variability shall be addressed on three timescales; decade-century (source water/air mass dominance); inter-annual (quantifying baseline variability, extreme events and recent trends); and intra-annual (high resolution exploration of seasonality signals within tree-rings). ISONET goes far beyond existing tree-ring analyses in its spatial based investigation and interpretation (see also https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/EVK2-CT-2002-00147). 24 European annually resolved stable isotope chronologies have been constructed from tree ring cellulose for the last 400 years (1600CE – 2003CE) for carbon and oxygen and for the last 100 years for hydrogen. Data was produced within the ISONET project (400 Years of Annual Reconstructions of European Climate Variability Using a Highly Resolved Isotopic Network,) to initiate an extensive spatiotemporal tree-ring stable isotope network across Europe funded as part of the fifth EC Framework Programme “Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development”. This data set comprises the ISONET δ18O records. Wood increment cores of 15 or more Pinus sylvestris, Quercus robur/petraea or Cedrus atlantica tree individuals were taken. Dendro-dated tree-ring material of 4-5 individuals per site was dissected and pooled year by year. After cellulose extraction and homogenization, 18O/16O-ratios of annually resolved samples were determined by Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS). Time series of 18O/16O are given as d-values versus SMOW. Details can be found in the downloadable “data description” file.
