O Comitê Brasileiro do Icomos foi fundado em 1978 no Rio de Janeiro.     Este artigo apresenta um recorte analítico do livro A questão do petróleo no Brasil: uma história da Petrobrás, fundamentando-se metodologicamente nos métodos de macroanálise narrativa, para identificar o encadeamento dos fatos e o ordenamento lógico no processo de narrativização da história organizacional, análise das estratégias discursivas, a fim de compreender a maneira como a história e sua organização são representadas no discurso, e análise retórico-argumentativa, buscando evidenciar a construção argumentativa e identificar os elementos ou os temas legitimantes estrategicamente empregados. This article presents an analytical clipping of the book A questão do Petróleo no Brasil: uma história da Petrobrás (The oil industry in Brazil: a Petrobrás history), methodologically based on the methods of narrative macroanalysis to identify the chain of facts and the logical ordering in the narrative process of organizational history, analysis of discursive strategies to understand how history and its organization are represented in the discourse, and rhetorical-argumentative analysis to highlight the argumentative construction and identify the legitimizing elements or themes strategically employed. Este artículo realiza un análisis del libro A questão do petróleo no Brasil: uma história da Petrobrás basándose en el macroanálisis narrativo para identificar el encadenamiento de los hechos y el orden lógico en el proceso narrativo de la historia organizacional; el análisis de estrategias discursivas para comprender cómo se representan la historia y la organización en el discurso; y el análisis retórico-argumentativo, con el fin de buscar la construcción argumentativa e identificar los elementos/temas legitimadores estratégicamente empleados.

    Este artigo tem a finalidade de apresentar o tópico denominado por “Processamento de linguagem natural aplicado à inteligência artificial”. Tem como objetivos divulgar os seguintes itens: Conceitos, nomeadamente o Teorema de Bayes, Jaccard Index, Matplotlib, NLP, e ferramentas como o NLTK; “Chi-Square”, “NumPy” - onde será abordada a definição de cada; “SpaCy” – onde serão explicados os conceitos inerentes a este pacote. Para tal recorreu-se à revisão bibliográfica para a pesquisa de artigos relacionados com o exemplo inerente ao processamento de linguagem natural com “Machine Learning”, e utilizou-se um exemplo de um algoritmo de estilometria realizado no âmbito da unidade curricular de Inteligência Artificial, lecionada pelo docente Artur Marques. This article aims to present the topic called "Natural language processing applied to artificial intelligence". Its objectives are to disseminate the following items: Concepts, namely the Bayes Theorem, Jaccard Index, Matplotlib, NLP, and tools such as NLTK; "Chi-Square", "NumPy" - where will be addressed the definition of each; "SpaCy" – where the concepts inherent to this package will be explained. For this purpose, the bibliographic review was used for the research of articles related to the example inherent to the processing of natural language with "Machine Learning", and an example of a Stylometry algorithm performed within the artificial intelligence curricular unit, taught by Professor Artur Marques, was used.

    In the present article it will be discussed how archaeo logy has been shaping the discourses about human past, going from ideas that simplified cultural development to allowing an understanding of the diversity of cultural processes in the world. However, the archaeological discourses that had their origins in colonialism and racism still perdure today. In Peru, these discourses have as its most important representative the nationalist idea of a «mother civilization» or «mother culture», which has as a consequence the overvaluation of the monumentality of archaeological sites. In this way, it will be explained how notions surged from coloniality create value scales about archaeological sites and the past in itself. Finally, it will be seen how these ideas are still perpetuated by the Peruvian state through school textbooks. En el presente artículo se discutirá cómo la arqueología ha venido moldeando los discursos sobre el pasado huma no, al pasar de ideas que simplificaban el desarrollo cultu ral a comprender la diversidad de los procesos culturales en el mundo. Sin embargo, los discursos arqueológicos que tuvieron su origen en el colonialismo y en el racismo perduran en la actualidad. En el Perú estos discursos tie nen como su mayor representante a la idea nacionalista de «civilización madre» o «cultura matriz», que tiene como consecuencia la sobrevaloración de la monumentalidad de los sitios arqueológicos. De esta manera, se explicará sobre cómo estas nociones surgidas de la colonialidad crean escalas de valor sobre los sitios arqueológicos y el pasado en sí mismo. Finalmente, se verá cómo estas ideas siguen siendo perpetuadas por el Estado peruano a través de los textos escolares.

    Objetiva analisar os sentidos atribuídos, por alunos egressos do grupo PET do curso de Educação Física de uma universidade, às práticas e experiências vivenciadas, bem como suas implicações para a formação acadêmica, profissional e social. Apropria-se da teoria da Relação com o Saber como suporte teórico e de análise, também assume a racionalidade da história cultural. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa do tipo descritiva-interpretativa. Como fontes, utiliza documentos e registros localizados nos arquivos do PET EF além de entrevistas filmadas, realizadas com 28 bolsistas que fizeram parte do programa entre 1994 e 2018. Possui um roteiro semiestruturado com 11 questões abertas para produção dos dados. As análises demonstram que o perfil de um aluno que busca o Programa é amplo e que a maioria enxerga nele a potencialização de suas experiências práticas e acadêmicas dentro do curso em que se insere. O PET passou por transformações significativas ao longo dos anos e, assim, a produção de sentidos sobre os saberes apropriados e as repercussões na formação dos entrevistados se mostrou com diferentes centralidades. Observamos que, no caso da Educação Física, o aperfeiçoamento para uma melhor formação acadêmica e a apropriação de conteúdos diversificados foram as principais contribuições do PET EF apontadas nas narrativas dos entrevistados. Além disso, a qualificação profissional para atuação no campo de trabalho e o relacionamento interpessoal no convívio em grupo também foram captados nas falas. Outros participantes ainda apontam que não houve contribuição significativa do programa em suas formações. It aims to analyze the meanings attributed by students from the PET group of the Physical Education course at a university to the practices and experiences, as well as their implications for academic, professional and social education. It appropriates the Relation to Knowledge theory as a theoretical and analytical support, it also assumes the rationality of cultural history. It is a qualitative research of the descriptive-interpretative type. As sources, it uses documents and records located in the PET EF archives, in addition to filmed interviews, carried out with 28 fellows who were part of the program between 1994 and 2018. It has a semi-structured script with 11 open questions for data production. The analyzes showed that the profile of a student who seeks the Program is broad and that most see in it the expansion of their practical and academic experiences within the course in which they are inserted. The PET underwent significant transformations over the years and the production of meanings about the appropriate knowledge and the repercussions on the training of the interviewees showed different centralities. We observed that, in the case of Physical Education, the improvement for a better academic formation and the appropriation of diversified contents were the main contributions of PET EF pointed out in the narratives of the interviewees. In addition, professional qualifications for working in the field and interpersonal relationships in group living were also captured in the speeches. Other participants also pointed out that there was no significant contribution from the program to their training.

    Objectives: To analyze the interactions between the concept of heritage as an object of historical construction and its effects in the context of current social practices. To observe the relationship between Culture, National Identity and Heritage. To discuss the concept of Dissonant Heritage through a case study, the Monument to Ferdinand I Grand Duke of Tuscany, known as The Four Moors. Methodology: This is a qualitative study of a theoretical nature, therefore bibliographical, which seeks, in an essayistic way, to launch hand of epistemological questions. Results: The proposal to use the concept of dissonant heritage plays a role of critique of the violence of modernity, and may focus on the elaboration of a cultural memory that confronts the different ethnic, class and gender hierarchization. Final considerations: The elaboration and application of the concept of dissonant heritage allows heritage to perform the function: of reorganizing memories in a comprehensive way and no longer tied to the idea of unifying national identities cultures. Objetivos: Analizar las interacciones entre el concepto de patrimonio como objeto de construcción histórica y sus efectos en el contexto de las prácticas sociales actuales. Observar la relación entre Cultura, Identidad Nacional y Patrimonio. Resultados: La propuesta de utilizar el concepto de patrimonio disonante juega un papel de crítica a la violencia de la modernidad, y puede centrarse en la elaboración de una memoria cultural que se enfrente a las diferentes jerarquías étnicas, de clase y de género. Consideraciones finales: La elaboración y aplicación del concepto de patrimonio disonante permite que el patrimonio cumpla la función: de reorganizar las memorias de manera integral y ya no atada a la idea de unificar las culturas de las identidades nacionales. Objetivos: Analisar as interações entre o conceito de patrimônio como objeto de construção histórica e seus efeitos no contexto das práticas sociais atuais.     O presente artigo pretende apresentar a teoria de conservação-restauração de Umberto Baldini e Ornella Casazza através de seus questionamentos no que tange à existência das obras de arte no tempo, sua realidade secular-histórica e como não as suprimir no processo de restauração, mantendo visível ao público o seu aspecto arqueológico. Ao mesmo tempo, o artigo visa introduzir o trabalho intelectual do historiador de arte Alessandro Conti, cuja contribuição é a proposição de uma nova História da arte, baseada na sobrevida das obras de arte (sua conservação, destruição ou alterações físicas), doravante propondo um diálogo interdisciplinar entre as áreas para melhor compreender as potencialidades do reconhecimento da esfera arqueológica, contextualizando a discussão também no cenário nacional. The present article intends to introduce Umberto Baldini’s and Ornella Casazza’s theory of conservation-restoration through their questions regarding the existence of the work of art through time, their secular-historical reality, and how to not suppress them in the restoration process, maintaining its archaeological aspects visible to the public. At the same time, the article intends to introduce the intellectual work of the art historian Alessandro Conti and his contribution to a new History of Art, based on the survival of the works of art (their conservation, destruction or physical changes), henceforth proposing an interdisciplinary dialogue between the areas to better understand the potential of recognizing the archeological dimension of the objects, also contextualizing the discussion on the Brazilian scenario. Este artículo intenta presentar la teoría de conservación-restauración de Umberto Baldini y Ornella Casazza por medio de sus cuestiones acerca de la existencias de las obras de arte en el tiempo, su realidad secular-histórica y cómo no las suprimir en el proceso de restauración, manteniendo su rasgo arqueológico visible a lo público. El artículo también pretende introducir el trabajo intelectual de lo historiador del arte Alessandro Conti en su contribución hasta una nueva Historia del arte, basada en la supervivencia de las obras de arte (su conservación, destrucción o alteraciones físicas), y propone un diálogo interdisciplinario entre las áreas para mejor comprender el potencial que hay en reconocer el ámbito arqueológico, trayendo la discussion también hasta el escenario brasileño.

    UIDB/04666/2020 UIDP/04666/2020 Este trabajo se centra en un aspecto apenas tratado en los estudios sobre el urbanismo romano como es el de los sistemas de drenaje del agua circulante por las superficies de tránsito, particularmente en las vías y los espacios públicos. Se presentan como casos de estudio dos ciudades localizadas en la provincia de Lusitania, Augusta Emerita y Mirobriga, exponentes, a su vez, de dos modelos dispares de urbanismo que son aquí confrontados. La primera, la capital provincial, fue una fundación colonial ex novo en la que ya se planificó desde el inicio una red pública de cloacas en correspondencia con el callejero ortogonal. La segunda, Mirobriga, implantada sobre un oppidum prerromano, fue un aglomerado urbano secundario que careció de un verdadero sistema de alcantarillado subterráneo, siendo evacuadas las aguas residuales (tanto las pluviales como las sucias) directamente a través de la superficie de las calles. Si en el primer caso proliferaron los elementos de drenaje para conducir la escorrentía hacia la red de colectores, en el segundo predominó el uso de diferentes estructuras de aislamiento para proteger las fachadas frente al exceso de líquido en superficie. This work focuses on a hardly analysed issue in Roman urbanism studies, namely the drainage of runoff water from streets and public areas. We present the cases of two cities located in the province of Lusitania, Augusta Emerita and Mirobriga, each one representative of two different urban layouts, which are here compared. The first case, the provincial capital, was a Roman colony founded ex novo which had an underground sewer network designed along with the orthogonal city plan. The second, Mirobriga, developed from a pre-Roman oppidum, was a secondary town that did not have a proper drainage infrastructure, that resulted in both rain and wastewater flowing through the paved streets. While the first case study offered a wide range of drains to carry the runoff to the sewers, the second case produced different waterproofing structures designed to protect the buildings from the excess of water flowing on the surface. publishersversion published

O Comitê Brasileiro do Icomos foi fundado em 1978 no Rio de Janeiro. Desde 2016, o Icomos Brasil – Comitê Brasileiro do Conselho Internacional de Monumentos e Sítios – vem se reorganizando e criando representações regionais e estaduais, assim como os comitês científicos nacionais, dentre os quais o de “documentação”, coordenado pela professora doutora Alcilia Afonso de Albuquerque e Melo [Alcilia Afonso], membro efetivo do Conselho Editorial da Labor & Engenho, quem, nesta edição, apresenta o “Dossiê Documentação do Patrimônio Cultural”, e assina o Editorial em coautoria com André Munhoz de Argollo Ferrão [André Argollo], o Editor-chefe da Labor & Engenho. [...] A revista Labor & Engenho tem a satisfação de apresentar o seu volume 15, com 25 artigos de excelente qualidade, sendo que 10 deles compõem o “Dossiê Documentação do Patrimônio Cultural” organizado pelo Comitê Científico Nacional de Documentação do Icomos Brasil. Sabe-se que o Icomos – International Council on Monuments and Sites – é uma organização não governamental global, fundada em Veneza [Itália] no ano de 1964, para promover a conservação, proteção, uso e valorização de monumentos, sítios urbanos, naturais e rurais, paisagens e o patrimônio imaterial. O Comitê Brasileiro do Icomos foi fundado em 1978 no Rio de Janeiro.     Este artigo apresenta um recorte analítico do livro A questão do petróleo no Brasil: uma história da Petrobrás, fundamentando-se metodologicamente nos métodos de macroanálise narrativa, para identificar o encadeamento dos fatos e o ordenamento lógico no processo de narrativização da história organizacional, análise das estratégias discursivas, a fim de compreender a maneira como a história e sua organização são representadas no discurso, e análise retórico-argumentativa, buscando evidenciar a construção argumentativa e identificar os elementos ou os temas legitimantes estrategicamente empregados. This article presents an analytical clipping of the book A questão do Petróleo no Brasil: uma história da Petrobrás (The oil industry in Brazil: a Petrobrás history), methodologically based on the methods of narrative macroanalysis to identify the chain of facts and the logical ordering in the narrative process of organizational history, analysis of discursive strategies to understand how history and its organization are represented in the discourse, and rhetorical-argumentative analysis to highlight the argumentative construction and identify the legitimizing elements or themes strategically employed. Este artículo realiza un análisis del libro A questão do petróleo no Brasil: uma história da Petrobrás basándose en el macroanálisis narrativo para identificar el encadenamiento de los hechos y el orden lógico en el proceso narrativo de la historia organizacional; el análisis de estrategias discursivas para comprender cómo se representan la historia y la organización en el discurso; y el análisis retórico-argumentativo, con el fin de buscar la construcción argumentativa e identificar los elementos/temas legitimadores estratégicamente empleados.

    Este artigo tem a finalidade de apresentar o tópico denominado por “Processamento de linguagem natural aplicado à inteligência artificial”. Tem como objetivos divulgar os seguintes itens: Conceitos, nomeadamente o Teorema de Bayes, Jaccard Index, Matplotlib, NLP, e ferramentas como o NLTK; “Chi-Square”, “NumPy” - onde será abordada a definição de cada; “SpaCy” – onde serão explicados os conceitos inerentes a este pacote. Para tal recorreu-se à revisão bibliográfica para a pesquisa de artigos relacionados com o exemplo inerente ao processamento de linguagem natural com “Machine Learning”, e utilizou-se um exemplo de um algoritmo de estilometria realizado no âmbito da unidade curricular de Inteligência Artificial, lecionada pelo docente Artur Marques. This article aims to present the topic called "Natural language processing applied to artificial intelligence". Its objectives are to disseminate the following items: Concepts, namely the Bayes Theorem, Jaccard Index, Matplotlib, NLP, and tools such as NLTK; "Chi-Square", "NumPy" - where will be addressed the definition of each; "SpaCy" – where the concepts inherent to this package will be explained. For this purpose, the bibliographic review was used for the research of articles related to the example inherent to the processing of natural language with "Machine Learning", and an example of a Stylometry algorithm performed within the artificial intelligence curricular unit, taught by Professor Artur Marques, was used.

    In the present article it will be discussed how archaeo logy has been shaping the discourses about human past, going from ideas that simplified cultural development to allowing an understanding of the diversity of cultural processes in the world. However, the archaeological discourses that had their origins in colonialism and racism still perdure today. In Peru, these discourses have as its most important representative the nationalist idea of a «mother civilization» or «mother culture», which has as a consequence the overvaluation of the monumentality of archaeological sites. In this way, it will be explained how notions surged from coloniality create value scales about archaeological sites and the past in itself. Finally, it will be seen how these ideas are still perpetuated by the Peruvian state through school textbooks. En el presente artículo se discutirá cómo la arqueología ha venido moldeando los discursos sobre el pasado huma no, al pasar de ideas que simplificaban el desarrollo cultu ral a comprender la diversidad de los procesos culturales en el mundo. Sin embargo, los discursos arqueológicos que tuvieron su origen en el colonialismo y en el racismo perduran en la actualidad. En el Perú estos discursos tie nen como su mayor representante a la idea nacionalista de «civilización madre» o «cultura matriz», que tiene como consecuencia la sobrevaloración de la monumentalidad de los sitios arqueológicos. De esta manera, se explicará sobre cómo estas nociones surgidas de la colonialidad crean escalas de valor sobre los sitios arqueológicos y el pasado en sí mismo. Finalmente, se verá cómo estas ideas siguen siendo perpetuadas por el Estado peruano a través de los textos escolares.

    Objetiva analisar os sentidos atribuídos, por alunos egressos do grupo PET do curso de Educação Física de uma universidade, às práticas e experiências vivenciadas, bem como suas implicações para a formação acadêmica, profissional e social. Apropria-se da teoria da Relação com o Saber como suporte teórico e de análise, também assume a racionalidade da história cultural. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa do tipo descritiva-interpretativa. Como fontes, utiliza documentos e registros localizados nos arquivos do PET EF além de entrevistas filmadas, realizadas com 28 bolsistas que fizeram parte do programa entre 1994 e 2018. Possui um roteiro semiestruturado com 11 questões abertas para produção dos dados. As análises demonstram que o perfil de um aluno que busca o Programa é amplo e que a maioria enxerga nele a potencialização de suas experiências práticas e acadêmicas dentro do curso em que se insere. O PET passou por transformações significativas ao longo dos anos e, assim, a produção de sentidos sobre os saberes apropriados e as repercussões na formação dos entrevistados se mostrou com diferentes centralidades. Observamos que, no caso da Educação Física, o aperfeiçoamento para uma melhor formação acadêmica e a apropriação de conteúdos diversificados foram as principais contribuições do PET EF apontadas nas narrativas dos entrevistados. Além disso, a qualificação profissional para atuação no campo de trabalho e o relacionamento interpessoal no convívio em grupo também foram captados nas falas. Outros participantes ainda apontam que não houve contribuição significativa do programa em suas formações. It aims to analyze the meanings attributed by students from the PET group of the Physical Education course at a university to the practices and experiences, as well as their implications for academic, professional and social education. It appropriates the Relation to Knowledge theory as a theoretical and analytical support, it also assumes the rationality of cultural history. It is a qualitative research of the descriptive-interpretative type. As sources, it uses documents and records located in the PET EF archives, in addition to filmed interviews, carried out with 28 fellows who were part of the program between 1994 and 2018. It has a semi-structured script with 11 open questions for data production. The analyzes showed that the profile of a student who seeks the Program is broad and that most see in it the expansion of their practical and academic experiences within the course in which they are inserted. The PET underwent significant transformations over the years and the production of meanings about the appropriate knowledge and the repercussions on the training of the interviewees showed different centralities. We observed that, in the case of Physical Education, the improvement for a better academic formation and the appropriation of diversified contents were the main contributions of PET EF pointed out in the narratives of the interviewees. In addition, professional qualifications for working in the field and interpersonal relationships in group living were also captured in the speeches. Other participants also pointed out that there was no significant contribution from the program to their training.

    Objectives: To analyze the interactions between the concept of heritage as an object of historical construction and its effects in the context of current social practices. To observe the relationship between Culture, National Identity and Heritage. To discuss the concept of Dissonant Heritage through a case study, the Monument to Ferdinand I Grand Duke of Tuscany, known as The Four Moors. Methodology: This is a qualitative study of a theoretical nature, therefore bibliographical, which seeks, in an essayistic way, to launch hand of epistemological questions. Results: The proposal to use the concept of dissonant heritage plays a role of critique of the violence of modernity, and may focus on the elaboration of a cultural memory that confronts the different ethnic, class and gender hierarchization. Final considerations: The elaboration and application of the concept of dissonant heritage allows heritage to perform the function: of reorganizing memories in a comprehensive way and no longer tied to the idea of unifying national identities cultures. Objetivos: Analizar las interacciones entre el concepto de patrimonio como objeto de construcción histórica y sus efectos en el contexto de las prácticas sociales actuales. Observar la relación entre Cultura, Identidad Nacional y Patrimonio. Discutir el concepto de Patrimonio Disonante a través de un estudio de caso, el Monumento a Fernando I Gran Duque de Toscana, conocido como Los Cuatro Moros. Metodología: Se trata de un estudio cualitativo de carácter teórico, por lo tanto bibliográfico, que pretende, de forma ensayística, lanzarse de la mano de cuestiones epistemológicas. Resultados: La propuesta de utilizar el concepto de patrimonio disonante juega un papel de crítica a la violencia de la modernidad, y puede centrarse en la elaboración de una memoria cultural que se enfrente a las diferentes jerarquías étnicas, de clase y de género. Consideraciones finales: La elaboración y aplicación del concepto de patrimonio disonante permite que el patrimonio cumpla la función: de reorganizar las memorias de manera integral y ya no atada a la idea de unificar las culturas de las identidades nacionales. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo de natureza teórica, portanto bibliográfico, que busca, de forma ensaística, lançar mão de questões epistemológicas.Resultados: A proposta de utilizar o conceito de patrimônio dissonante desempenha um papel de crítica da violência da modernidade, podendo incidir na elaboração de uma memória cultural que enfrente a hierarquização étnica, de classe e de gênero diferentes.Considerações finais: A elaboração e aplicação do conceito de patrimônio dissonante permite que o patrimônio desempenhe a função: de reorganizar as memórias de forma abrangente e não mais atrelados à ideia de culturas identidades nacionais unificadoras.

    O presente artigo pretende apresentar a teoria de conservação-restauração de Umberto Baldini e Ornella Casazza através de seus questionamentos no que tange à existência das obras de arte no tempo, sua realidade secular-histórica e como não as suprimir no processo de restauração, mantendo visível ao público o seu aspecto arqueológico. Ao mesmo tempo, o artigo visa introduzir o trabalho intelectual do historiador de arte Alessandro Conti, cuja contribuição é a proposição de uma nova História da arte, baseada na sobrevida das obras de arte (sua conservação, destruição ou alterações físicas), doravante propondo um diálogo interdisciplinar entre as áreas para melhor compreender as potencialidades do reconhecimento da esfera arqueológica, contextualizando a discussão também no cenário nacional. The present article intends to introduce Umberto Baldini’s and Ornella Casazza’s theory of conservation-restoration through their questions regarding the existence of the work of art through time, their secular-historical reality, and how to not suppress them in the restoration process, maintaining its archaeological aspects visible to the public. At the same time, the article intends to introduce the intellectual work of the art historian Alessandro Conti and his contribution to a new History of Art, based on the survival of the works of art (their conservation, destruction or physical changes), henceforth proposing an interdisciplinary dialogue between the areas to better understand the potential of recognizing the archeological dimension of the objects, also contextualizing the discussion on the Brazilian scenario. Este artículo intenta presentar la teoría de conservación-restauración de Umberto Baldini y Ornella Casazza por medio de sus cuestiones acerca de la existencias de las obras de arte en el tiempo, su realidad secular-histórica y cómo no las suprimir en el proceso de restauración, manteniendo su rasgo arqueológico visible a lo público. El artículo también pretende introducir el trabajo intelectual de lo historiador del arte Alessandro Conti en su contribución hasta una nueva Historia del arte, basada en la supervivencia de las obras de arte (su conservación, destrucción o alteraciones físicas), y propone un diálogo interdisciplinario entre las áreas para mejor comprender el potencial que hay en reconocer el ámbito arqueológico, trayendo la discussion también hasta el escenario brasileño.

    UIDB/04666/2020 UIDP/04666/2020 Este trabajo se centra en un aspecto apenas tratado en los estudios sobre el urbanismo romano como es el de los sistemas de drenaje del agua circulante por las superficies de tránsito, particularmente en las vías y los espacios públicos. Se presentan como casos de estudio dos ciudades localizadas en la provincia de Lusitania, Augusta Emerita y Mirobriga, exponentes, a su vez, de dos modelos dispares de urbanismo que son aquí confrontados. La primera, la capital provincial, fue una fundación colonial ex novo en la que ya se planificó desde el inicio una red pública de cloacas en correspondencia con el callejero ortogonal. La segunda, Mirobriga, implantada sobre un oppidum prerromano, fue un aglomerado urbano secundario que careció de un verdadero sistema de alcantarillado subterráneo, siendo evacuadas las aguas residuales (tanto las pluviales como las sucias) directamente a través de la superficie de las calles. Si en el primer caso proliferaron los elementos de drenaje para conducir la escorrentía hacia la red de colectores, en el segundo predominó el uso de diferentes estructuras de aislamiento para proteger las fachadas frente al exceso de líquido en superficie. This work focuses on a hardly analysed issue in Roman urbanism studies, namely the drainage of runoff water from streets and public areas. We present the cases of two cities located in the province of Lusitania, Augusta Emerita and Mirobriga, each one representative of two different urban layouts, which are here compared. The first case, the provincial capital, was a Roman colony founded ex novo which had an underground sewer network designed along with the orthogonal city plan. The second, Mirobriga, developed from a pre-Roman oppidum, was a secondary town that did not have a proper drainage infrastructure, that resulted in both rain and wastewater flowing through the paved streets. While the first case study offered a wide range of drains to carry the runoff to the sewers, the second case produced different waterproofing structures designed to protect the buildings from the excess of water flowing on the surface. publishersversion published
