An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in May 2017 by University of Leicester Archaeological Services on behalf of Broughton Hall Fencing on land at Mill Lane, Gilmorton, Leicestershire, in advance of proposed residential development. The fieldwork represented a second phase of investigation following an initial phase of archaeological fieldwork in January 2016 and arising from revisions to the original scheme in order to incorporate additional land. The archaeological evaluation provided limited evidence for medieval archaeological cultivation in the form of plough furrows. No other archaeological evidence was present.
