Publisher: Sarajevo : INSAM Institute for Contemporary Artistic MusicCountry: SerbiaThe Editorial Board of the INSAM Journal of Contemporary Music, Art and Technology decided that both issues of 2022 will be dedicated to one main theme, namely, “Fighting for the attention: Music and art on social media”. We can say that this call for papers went very successfully, as we are now presenting to you INSAM Journal No. 9. In a year which has seen many grave turbulences on socio-economic and political levels on a global scale, we have once again confirmed the importance of social media for communication and the spreading of news, and we have also seen the limitations of these tools. Turning to music and art on social media, our Main Theme section consists of five intriguing papers, Beyond the Main Theme section has two articles, (Inter)Views bring three exciting pieces, and the Reviews one festival report.

This time, we are shedding the light on artists, creators, procedures, methodologies and outputs that are in direct correlation with the ways in which diverse social media platforms today function and grab our attention. This is the second issue in a row dedicated to the global crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. After the overwhelming response from all over the world to the call for papers and provocative inspections that ensued, here we wanted to discuss the ways in which technology shapes and enables work in the areas of music, arts, humanities, and the education process, this time inviting our collaborators to discuss the shortcomings and struggles of the working processes in these fields. The main theme, “Music, Art and Humanities in the Time of Global Crisis”, expanded from the Main Theme section into the interviews as well.

Publisher: Sarajevo : INSAM Institute for Contemporary Artistic MusicCountry: SerbiaThe fifth issue of INSAM Journal of Contemporary Music, Art and Technology is the second one we are preparing and publishing in the Covid-19 pandemic. And while the theme for the previous issue was conceived in a world unburdened with what has preoccupied our minds and lives in 2020, the theme for this one is directly shaped by it. During the Spring, when we were taken aback by the governmental measures and the fear of the “invisible enemy” (the use of militant vocabulary is rather prominent in the discourse surrounding the virus), the uncertainty for the future grew strong. However, at that time, we could not predict the longevity, brevity and consequences of the pandemic – in December we are still not certain, but we are getting tired. This is why I would like to thank all the authors for working with us in these trying times, unpacking what can only be a beginning of ‘a global crisis’ during the Summer and Autumn of 2020. The main theme of the issue, Music, Art, and Technology in the Time of Global Crisis, strives to capture this period through the lens of workers in art, music, and academia around the world, focusing on the role and place of arts and technology in our/their relocated institutional realities.

As we underlined in the Call for Papers, the theme of the issue highlighted our intention to give space to overcoming the deep-rooted dichotomy “human vs. machine” in the arts. In finding and understanding the flaws and strengths of both sides through theoretical, inter and trans-disciplinary, and critical thinking, we strive towards creating a platform for open discussions on the subject. In the issue of INSAM Journal in front of us, this conversation is inspired by the propelling artwork of Sougwen Chung.

Age, microfacies and depositional realm of the Grivska Formation is controversially discussed due to the fact that detailed investigations are missing. Based on reinvestigations of the type locality of the Grivska Formation and in adjacent areas, the following results can be drawn: 1) The Grivska Formation is of Late Triassic (Early Carnian to Rhaetian) age according to conodont dating. 2) Sedimentological and microfacies studies evidenced that the Grivska Formation was deposited on the continental slope and transitional to the Neo-Tethys Ocean. Based on the results of these investigations in the type area and several reference sections in the Dinaridic Ophiolite Belt, the Grivska Formation is emended and clearly defined. In the Dinaridic Ophiolite Belt, the Grivska Formation occurs only as clasts and blocks in the ophiolitic melange. In the course of several decades at the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad, fundamental studies in the field of neurosciences were of great importance and continually up-to-date with global scientific achievements. These studies were applied by using the stereotactic method, single unit recording and electroencephalography. Laboratory of Neurophysiology was established in 1965 and since 1978 microelectrode and microiontophoretic techniques important for the registration and analysis of the activity of individual neurons were fully developed. Under the great influence of Russian neurophysiological school (P.K. Anokhin, K.V. Sudakov) the emphasis was on the study of the theory of Anokhin’s functional systems. Recently, epilepsy, brain ischemia and the influence of different medications, auxiliary medicinal products and physical agents (electromagnetic radiation) on central nervous system, behaviour, learning and investigated pathological conditions have been studied. Scientific collaboration with renowned institutions in the country and abroad was established, numerous scientific projects were relized, expert international meetings were organized and numerous significant studies were published. These results have often been the basis for further clinical investigations and the improvement of preventive or curative treatment of patients. Researchers from the Laboratory participated in the education of new generations of neurophysiologists encouraging their scientific curiosity and love for fascinating mechanisms of nervous system functioning.

This document employs a statistical approach in exploring language and extracting linguistic forms there contained, so as to identify the linguistic forms which are most frequently used in legal documents. Thus retrieved data, as the second part of this paper shows, can be used to research information, analyze references and links, trace pathways between correlating legal documents and establish the relevance of legal documents on the grounds of their mutual correlation. The retrieved data can further be utilized in various other manners. The methodology of this research and thus attained information form a good basis and act as input data for numerous further analyses.

Quaternary deposits on the banks of the Sava River in the Belgrade area have a significant thickness and they are represented by genetically different formations. The data about these sediments were obtained by exploration of two relatively shallow boreholes, RB 47/P-1 and RB 53/P-1, located on the left bank of the Sava River. Two genetic entities are distinguished: the lacustrine-palustrine deposits of Plio-Pleistocene age and alluvial deposits of Pleistocene and Holocene age. Deposits of the Plio-Pleistocene are clearly different, both lithologically and palaeontologically, from the overlying alluvial deposits. Lithologically similar fluvial deposits of the Pleistocene and Holocene age were distinguished according to their palaeontological characteristics, particulary by the presence of bivalve genera Corbicula and Dreissena.
