    Authors: A Alkurdi; S Merabia;

    International audience; We perform lattice dynamics calculations (LD) on silicon/germanium interfaces using ab initio interatomic force constants to predict the interfacial phonon transmission as a function of both phonon frequency and the transmission angle. We carry out a spectral and angular analysis to quantify the contribution of each phonon mode in a given scattering direction. The effect of the interaction range was studied at this interface by taking account of more or less atom layers across the interface. Moreover, we were able to predict the thermal boundary conductance (TBC) as a function of the transmission angle and temperature as well. Our results show that, the thermal energy transmission is highly anisotropic while thermal energy reflection is almost isotropic. In addition, we found that it seems there is a global critical angle of transmission beyond which almost no thermal energy is transmitted. This can be used to device high pass phonon filter via changing the orientation of the interface.

    Authors: Aliquot, Julien;

    Les inscriptions fournissent des données irremplaçables pour écrire l'histoire des communautés villageoises de la Gaulanitide (actuel Jawlan) sous l'Empire romain. La documentation est surtout abondante pour la période comprise entre le deuxième et le septième siècle de l'ère chrétienne : comme dans le Hauran voisin, elle se compose essentiellement de textes gravés dans le basalte local et rédigés en grec, dédicaces païennes, invocations chrétiennes, textes de fondations d'églises chrétiennes et de martyria, bornes de propriété et surtout inscriptions funéraires. En partie conservées au musée de Qouneitra, les découvertes faites à Mashara depuis les années 1960 illustrent l'apport de la documentation disponible sur l'une des communautés locales. History and epigraphy of the ancient Gaulanitis: the case of Mashara. The inscriptions are an invaluable source of informations on Gaulanitis' villages under the Roman empire. Most of them date back from the period between the second to the seventh century AD: as in the neighbouring Hawran, the texts are usually engraved in the local basalt, written in Greek, and they deal with the pagan cults, the foundation of Christian churches and martyria, the private and collective estates, and the funerary customs. The discoveries made in Mashara since 1960, and partly kept today in the Qunaytra museum, give an idea of the available documentation about one of the local communities. International audience
