Creating links manually between large datasets becomes an extremely tedious task. Although the linked data production is growing massively, the interconnecting needs improvement. This paper presents our work regarding detecting and extending links between Wikidata and COURAGE entities with respect to cultural heritage data. The COURAGE project explored the methods for cultural opposition in the socialist era (cc. 1950–1990), highlighting the variety of alternative cultural scenes that flourished in Eastern Europe before 1989. We describe our methods and results in discovering common entities in the two datasets, and our solution for automating this task. Furthermore, it is shown how it was possible to enrich the data in Wikidata and to establish new, bi-directional connections between COURAGE and Wikidata. Hence, the audience of both databases will have a more complete view of the matched entities.

This paper explains the results of a research project, concerning Mexican peasants during the last two decades. Undoubtedly, the peasant has been a sector of rural environment that deserves major attention, because it has undergone hurried and dramatic economic, political and social decline in this lapse.

By the onset of 2008, Mexico had signed twelve commercial trade pacts with forty-four countries and had entered into the World Trade Organization (WTO). But without doubt, the most important move to date has been that of the NAFTA. This chapter limits this discussion to demonstrate its impact on the income of the rural population and on agricultural employment. Brief mention is made of the crisis in food security. The chapter first remembers that the content of NAFTA that directly concerns the rural sector is essentially that which governs all agricultural trade between the United States, Canada and Mexico as of 1994. It is true that the increased prices for biocombustibles helped change the destination for agricultural products, that international grain reserves moderately decreased over the last several years, and that the surface volume of land dedicated to grain production has been reduced due to a reorientation of agrarian activities.
