The study investigates the extent of perception of air pollution and annoyance among participants in Obio/Akpor LGA. The research design adopted is correlation design. The participants were randomly selected from the populations aged 20 and above. Sample size is 123 which consist of selected participant in Obio-Akpor LGA. Annoyance due to air pollution was self-reported on a 4- point scale (1: no disturbance at all, 4: intolerable disturbance) through the following question: ‘How much are you annoyed by outdoor air pollution (from traffic, industry, etc.) if you keep the windows open?' Perception of Air pollution is measured by a questionnaire comprising of smoking and exposure to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS), defined as regular exposure to tobacco smoke at home and/or at work. Finally, the questionnaire asked about general as well as heavy vehicle traffic intensity in front of the home. This information was collected from a four-option question, where the options were no traffic, infrequent, frequent and constant traffic. The statistical analysis was performed using Pearson product correlation at 0.05 level of significance. Annoyance was associated with estimation of individual exposure to NO2, a pollutant related to traffic. There should be adequate awareness of the risks of air pollution.

Pressure, combustion temperature and NOx emission escalate with the increase in advance ignition angle. The indicative engine cycle work reaches the maximum value corresponding to the optimal advance igntion angle which depends on the fuel compositions. With a given biogas-hydrogen fuel mixture, the average optimal advance ignition angle increased by 2°TK when the syngas content in the mixture grown by 20%. For a given biogas-syngas mixture, the optimal advance ignition angle decreases linearly with increasing hydrogen content with a reduction rate of about 0.43 (°TK/%H2). With a given ignition advance angle, NOx decreases with increasing syngas content. The ignition system of the traditional stationary engine can be converted into an electronically controlled ignition system to automatically adjust the advance ignition angle to suit the operating conditions of the engine in the hybrid renewable energy system. The system simply consists of a Hall sensor, an integrated ignition cluster and a microcontroller with a program to adjust the advance ignition angle according to the fuel compositions.

The study investigated air pollution as correlates of anxiety, depression and criminal behaviour (indoor and outdoor crimes) in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area in Rivers State. The study adopted correlation design. Population consisted of all the communities in Obio/Akpor LGA. A 3-year panel of 10 Obio/Akpor communities was collected and analyzed to investigate the effects of air pollution on anxiety, depression and three crime categories. Community-level air pollution data was sourced from the EPA between 2019 and 2021 on six major pollutants: carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen dioxide (N02), sulfur dioxide (S02), total suspended particulate (TSP), particulate matter PMJO, and particulate matter PM 2.5. We standardized each of the six pollutants and then averaged the standardized scores to compute a composite measure of air pollution for each community. Community-level crime data from the Crime Fighters Program was collected from the Nigeria Police Force. A self-structured questionnaire on Anxiety and Depression Scale was used. Content validity of the questionnaire was established by two experts in Measurement and Evaluation. Cronbach alpha reliability method was used to establish the reliability of the questionnaire. Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used to answer research questions and their corresponding hypotheses at 0.05 alpha level of significance using SPSS version 23. Overall, according to the result, air pollution was found to be positively related to indoor and outdoor crime (domestic violence and robbery). However, air pollution was also found to have a positive association with anxiety and depression. The Ministry of Environment should put in measures to control air pollution. Indoor and outdoor recreation should be promoted to avoid anxiety and depression.

Heat and energy consumption is currently one of the largest environmental polluters. First of all, this is expressed in an increase in air pollution, poor quality of drinking water, soil pollution and the accumulation of certain types of waste. In order to reduce the harmful impact on the environment, it is necessary to solve the issues of effective purification and standardization of emissions and calculation of maximum allowable emissions. Therefore, the object of research is the impact of an industrial enterprise on the environment. One of the sources of environmental pollution is heat production enterprises, to which the Prydniprovska thermal power plant (Dnipro, Ukraine) belongs. The research is aimed at assessing the impact of the Prydniprovska thermal power plant (TPP) on the environment and develop proposals for the implementation of appropriate environmental measures. Like most industrial enterprises, Prydniprovska thermal power plant is a source of solid waste, polluted rains and gaseous emissions into the atmosphere. Since the enterprise is located within the city, the relevant environmental protection requirements for it have been increased. The economic activity of the enterprise is accompanied by the fulfillment of the requirements for the rational use of natural resources, environmental safety, planning measures for environmental protection and public health. In the work, an assessment was made of the impact of Prydniprovska thermal power plant on the environment and a description of the area where the enterprise was located was given. The analysis of these data allowsto give recommendations on the choice of the type of treatment facilities and the requirements for them. As a result of the research, it can be concluded that the excess of the surface concentration for the main emitted substances was not recorded. In the future, the study of emissions from the Prydniprovska TPP can be carried out on other emitted harmful substances, as well as after the work on the modernization of treatment equipment.

Combustible ethanol was obtained from agricultural waste. Test samplesE0 (petrolgazoline) and E5, E10 and E20 (epanpl/gazoline blend) were prepared and their physical, chemical and technical characteristics were studied. The effect of bioethanol on the ecological compatibility of the automobile engine has been studied. The objects of research were Regular, Premium and Super of Petrol gasoline Samples, as well as a of 10%, 20% and 30%. bioethanol/gazoline blends. The study of the ecological properties of the test additive was carried out at the stand of automobile engines SAK-670 (Germany), on which the engine of a BMW-316 car with coupling sleeve and a transmission assembly is installed. The stand is equipped with brakes and torque sensors, as well as with crankshaft speed and fuel consumption measuring instruments. The test mixtures during an idle running of engine cause a decrease in the CO content in the exhaust gases by 10-16%, and this taking into account their low cost, indicate the prospect of expanding the use of fuel ethanol.

The purpose of this study was to determine the potential of groundwater in Alasombo, Weru District, Sukoharjo Regency, Indonesia. The investigation has been carried out using geophysical methods that are integrated with surface geological data to obtain an interpretation of the hydrogeological control of the aquifer. The lithology of the aquifer is dominated by sandstone which controls its role as 2 types of aquifers, namely unconfined aquifers or free aquifers and semi-confined aquifers or semi-free aquifers. The geoelectrical section shows that the groundwater-carrying layer that functions as an aquifer is the sandstone layer in the second layer and sandstone in the base layer. As an artesian aquifer or a confined aquifer, sandstone aquifers have a water volume between 31.5 to 260 m3/day, in a northwest-southeast direction. In terms of the quality of the conductivity value of water in the field, below 1500 µs/cm is freshwater type groundwater that can be recommended as a source of clean water.
