    Доводиться актуальність переосмислення в сучасному мистецтві України ідеї деколоніальної ідентичності як апорії поширеній в постколоніальному світі неоліберальної панідеології плюріверсально-євроцентристського прогресу, вплив якої когерентний моделі імперської радянської парадигми, що зокрема нав’язувалась фейковому утворенню «єдиний совєцький народ». Адепти західних теорій деколоніалізму і руху індигенізму викривають темний бік уніфікованого global public art, що регресує, ігноруючи архетипальні особливості традицій ментально-духовного досвіду етносів. Вчені досліджують небезпечність дихотомії суб’єктивної когніції сучасника, бо усвідомлена ідентичність мистецького бачення, пов’язана з емпатійно-трансцендентальним світосприйняттям нації, еволюціонує завдяки естетичному судженню; натомість ринкова артепістема глобалізованого contemporary-досвіду, як запозичений з економіки бенчмаркінг, шкодить національним культурам та цивілізаційному розвитку, провокуючи сутнісну деградацію і фаховий дескілінг. Для подолання сучасної кризи культуротворення художня свідомість мусить розрізняти регресивні парадигми і чинити опір культуріндустріальним стратегіям global-маркетології євроцентризму, гарантуючи різноманітний розквіт національних / регіональних культур в єдиній родині цивілізаційного полілогу. In the paper, the author attempts to prove the urgency of rethinking the idea of decolonial identity in contemporary Ukrainian art. Adherents of Western theories of decolonialism and the indigenous movement expose the dark side of unified global public art, which regresses, ignoring the archetypal features of the traditions of mental and spiritual experience of ethnic groups. The conscious identity of the artistic vision associated with the empathic-transcendental worldview of the nation is evolving through aesthetic judgment, whereas, instead, the market art episteme of globalized contemporary experience, as a form of benchmarking borrowed from economics, harms national cultures and civilizational development, provoking substantial degradation and professional deskilling. To overcome the current crisis of cultural creation, artistic consciousness must distinguish regressive paradigms and resist the cultural-industrial strategies of global marketing of Eurocentrism, guaranteeing the diverse flourishing of national / regional cultures in a single family of civilizational polylogue.

    The article analyses the educational space of Ukrainian visual arts. The educational component of the modern art system is insufficiently studied and requires the definition of its boundaries, a description of the main characteristics, the delineation of development vectors. Therefore, the article gives a meticulous view of the preconditions and history of building the basic principles of the educational order of local visual arts. The rest of the research examines the current learning process, its structure, components and communication links. The author determines the place of education in the system of institutional structure of modern visual art of Ukraine, emphasizes its features in relation to the global educational art paradigm. Проаналізовано освітній простір візуального мистецтва України. Зафіксовано, що освітній компонент сучасної артсистеми є дуже мало вивченим і потребує означення кордонів, опису основних характеристик, накреслення векторів розвитку. Охарактеризовані передумови та історія вибудовування основних принципів освітнього порядку локального візуального мистецтва. Зосереджено увагу на аналізі теперішнього навчального процесу, його структури, компонентів та комунікативних зв’язків. Автор визначає місце освіти в системі інституціональної будови сучасного візуального мистецтва України, акцентує її особливості відносно загальносвітової навчальної мистецької парадигми.

    . In Ukrainian art of the XX–XXI centuries the dominant position has taken by contemporary art. In addition to the traditional art, many trends are being developed based on the various media, such as digital-art, internet-art, VR, interactive art, narrower types of net-art, software-art, game-art, as well as scientific progress — science-art, bio-art and others. All of these practices operate in the realm of technical transformation, where image performs a minor function. Updating of artistic practices is associated with updates to expressiveness. Changes in the artistic process caused by technology development are twofold: related to the update of the facilities and resources and digital technologies. The main characteristic of contemporary art is its interactivity, as the opportunity for the viewer to interact with the artist and to participate in the creation of works. And the biggest difference between digital and traditional art is that it exists only at the time of its creation and requires the immediate presence of the author or viewer.The world of art today has undergone several major changes that have affected all its traditional types and industries, disrupting the development of artistic practices related to the use of new technologies (their impact can be compared with the revolutionary invention of photography and cinema). Technological updates in this collaboration are mostly applied, acting as a «mediator» between the author’sidea and its tangible embodiment. As a result of technical innovations, new principles of exhibition space construction have emerged, and the process of transporting and exhibiting works has been modernized, expanding opportunities for exchange and cultural connections. The opportunity to virtually visit art events on the Internet and view museum exhibits from anywhere in the world, anyone can create art objects, freely distributing them on social networks. This all creates a renewed perception of reality, channelling social experience into the realm of the visual. By its nature, art that responds quickly and acutely to transformation and innovation is beginning to use its full range of technical and scientific achievements

    The article presents artistic projects in which the issue of gender is actualized. The above was carried out from the position of post-humanist ideas through the study of the impact of the development of technologies on modern socio-cultural processes. Thus, the projects created in different genres were analyzed, including post-cinema (“Night Walk for Edinburgh”, “A Total Jizzfest”) aimed at changing gender perceptions in society, Ellen Pearlman’s opera “Emotionally intelligent” Artificially Intelligent Brainwave Opera” (AIBO), in which, thanks to the involvement of artificial intelligence as an actor, gender opposition is reinforced. The Female Laptop Orchestra (FLO) project is dedicated to the support of female creativity, which, thanks to the involvement of information and communication tools, combines music creation with research in its activity. An important aspect of the considered projects is defined as interactivity, which is implemented by involving the viewer in the process of their creation. It was found that, on the one hand, the digital virtual space made it possible to reduce the importance of social roles or gender affiliation, thereby leveling the stereotype of the opposition between the author’s masculinity and femininity. On the other hand, with the development of machine learning technologies, a new opposition between the human author and the artificial intelligence in the same capacity is gradually emerging. У статті досліджено мистецькі проєкти, в яких актуалізовано питання гендеру. Означене здійснено з позиції постгуманістичних уявлень через вивчення впливу розвитку технологій на сучасні соціокультурні процеси. Так, проаналізовано проєкти, створені в різних жанрових площинах, зокрема посткіно («Night Walk for Edinburgh», «A Total Jizzfest»), спрямовані на зміни гендерних уявлень у суспільстві, опера Еллен Перлман «Emotionally intelligent» Artificially Intelligent Brainwave Opera» (AIBO), в якій заявдяки залученню штучного інтелекту в ролі дійової особи підсилюється гендерна опозиція. Підтримці жіночої творчості присвячено проєкт Female Laptop Orchestra (FLO), який завдяки залученню інформаційно-комунікаційних засобів поєднує в своїй діяльності створення музики з дослідженням. Важливим аспектом розглянутих проєктів визначено інтерактивність, що реалізована шляхом залучення глядача у процес їх творення. Виявлено, що, з одного боку, цифровий віртуальний простір дозволив зменшити значення соціальних ролей або гендерної приналежності, тим самим нівелювавши стереотип щодо опозиції між маскулінністю та фемінністю автора. З іншого боку, з розвитком технологій машинного навчання поступово оприявнюється нове протиставлення між людиною-автором та штучним інтелектом у тій самій якості.

    Authors: Ruslana Bezuhla;

    The article touches upon the issues of topical methodological problems of modern art history, including domestic, considers the historical background of their emergence, analyzes the concepts of scientists regarding the criteria of artistry, artistic creativity andassessment of works of contemporary art. The newest tendencies and factors influencing the formation of contemporary art are revealed,such as: digitalization, virtualization, commercialization, blurring the boundaries between elite and mass art, loss of integrity, polystylism,liberation from any norms of regulation, departure from the classical understanding of artistry. It was found that when evaluating worksof contemporary art, such non-artistic criteria as fashion, relevance, popularity of the author, investment attractiveness, and commercialsuccess began to play an important role. These criteria lead to the fact that the artistic evaluation of works of art is subjective, contributeto a departure from understanding art as an expression of certain universally significant and valuable meanings. The purpose of the work is to understand the current methodological problems of contemporary Russian art history, which arise bothat the theoretical and practical levels in relation to those artistic processes and practices that exist in contemporary art. The theoretical and methodological basis of the research was such philosophical and general scientific approaches, principles andmethods that allowed us to consider the methodological problems of modern art history from different perspectives: the principle oftransdisciplinary allows us to reveal the essence of modern art as a complex phenomenon; the method of generalization made it possibleto determine the place of contemporary art in the ideological paradigm through the analysis of ambiguous formulations and statementsregarding works of contemporary art, art practices and performative practices that were presented in various sources.

    The specifics of the Ukrainian–Polish cultural relations during the late 1950s and early 1960s were outlined in the article. The area of research covers the strategies of development of the European festival movement, in particular the festival form of popularization of contemporary art and performing concepts of the well-known avant-garde music festival The Warsaw Autumn, established in Poland in 1956. Special attention was drawn to the importance of the communicative processes that accompanied the dissemination of the innovative music of the time from West to East, and to the role of Boris Lyatoshinsky in this discourse. Being a pillar of Ukrainian modern music, he inspired the constellation of young composers who would later join the Sixtiers dissident movement; they were predominantly graduates of Lyatoshinsky’s composing class at the Tchaikovsky Kyiv State Conservatory.Boris Lyatoshinsky’s participation in the Warsaw Autumn as a member of official delegation was explored as well. The analytics was conducted based on the rediscovered letters from H. Batsevych and T. Okhlevsky, prominent Polish cultural figures, to B. Lyatoshinsky, as well as on the memoirs of O. Strashynsky, a Ukrainian-born conductor. Communication, established by Lyatoshinsky (which resulted in popularization of his oeuvre in Poland and, respectively, of the works by the Polish composers—in Ukraine), enabled to define the Ukrainian–Polish discourse of the time as virtually the most active period of the Ukrainian–Polish post-warcultural initiatives.It should be added that sheet music, audio recordings, study guides to the contemporary composing techniques, brought home from the Polish festival, as well as free, no-taboo or cliche atmosphere at Lyatoshinsky’s composing class prompted the expansion of the ideas of the avant-garde culture that captured his immediate students and the whole young Ukrainian composing generation of the 1960s. This may be traced in the first explicitly avant-garde compositions of V. Godziatsky, V. Guba, L. Grabovsky, etc. This musical and worldview shift within the Ukrainian musical culture later was identified as Ukrainian musical avant-garde, while its protagonists were labeled as the Sixtiers composers.

    Authors: azarova yulia;

    The article presents a detailed analysis of one of F. Bacon’s main pictures — “Three Etudes for Figures at the Base of the Crucifixion” (1944), as well as its late variation — “The Second Version of the Triptych 1944” (1988). Author uses the iconological method and shows the specifics of Bacon’s artistic intention that associates with the grotesque depiction of complex existential motifs of fear, horror and despair. Author studies a painting language of Bacon and focuses on the spatial organization of work, color palette, visual solution.Author considers the semantics of the figures and hypothesizes on the anti-narrative nature of this work. Author relies on the books of contemporary art historians (M. Harrison, L. Ficacci, D. Sylvester, J. Russell) and identifies the main sources of inspiration by Bacon’s “Triptych” (“La Coiffure” by E. Degas, “Guernica” and “Anatomy: Three Women” by P. Picasso, “Bathers” P ezanne). At the same time, author emphasizes that Bacon, who inherits the ideas of his predecessors does not stop at imitation, but goes further and creates his own style flamboyant, a “fiery style” that brings him well-deserved fame. The author draws on the assessments of leading art critics (L. Gowing, G. Melville, S. Hunter) and notes that Bacon’s “Triptych” serves as a turning point in the art of the 20th century, because this work accumulates a negative καιρός.The phantasmagoria of the lifeless “ghost world”, “world ruins”, and “world ashes” that Bacon plays in his picture shows the viewer how the world is alienated from man and man is alienated from the world

    The Ukrainian project «Meta-Physical Time-Space» is researchered to involve it in the national cultural discourse and an analysis of the themes developed within it is made, taking into account the projection of this issues on Ukrainian and world contexts. The contexts involved in the project in Taiwan, Ukraine and the Venice Biennale are mapped. The Ukrainian contemporary art project, created as a continuation of the long-term «Collider» project at the art residence of the Soulang Cultural Park in Taiwan, is analyzed. The multi-vector project and different types of connection with Eastern philosophical thought were revealed demonstrating productive artistic strategies and contributing to the development of contemporary art. The timeline of emergence, gradual development, presentation of elements and exposure of the project within the framework of ARTBATFEST 8 (Almaty Art Center, Almaty, Kazakhstan, 2017), GO-GOLFEST’17 Terra Firma project, in full format at A13 Gallery of the Soulang Cultural Park, Tainan, with photographic part at the A4 Gallery at TiFF-2019, Taiwan, as a pure object at the «Anatomy of Simulacre» exhibition at Modern Art Research Institute of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, with video mapping at the Carbon Media Art Festival — 2019 in Kyiv, at the «Carpathian Space» International Festival — 2019, at Art Museum of Prykarpattia in Ivano-Frankivsk, within the RIXC-2019 International Conference at the Latvian National Museum of Art in Riga, in the landscape of the «Olbia» National Historical and Archaeological Reserve and witin «Symbolism» exhibition at the Korsak’s Museum of Contemporary Art in Lutsk in 2019. In an age, where the plurality of truths is reflected in the curves of media-mirrors, intellectual exercises and expositions are an important navigator for orientation. The «Meta-Physical Time-Space» project addresses the issues of the Venice Biennale on global challenges, war and peace, ongoing confrontation of democratic and totalitarian worlds in the era of the algorithm.

    The general tendencies of development of contemporary Ukrainian art in the context of creation of group art projects are determined. Some features of artistic life, the key events of which are the organization of international exhibitions, art fairs, residences and curatorial projects, are considered. The object of analysis was the features of curatorial methods in the preparation and organization of exhibition projects related to commercial, aesthetic, social and other aspects. The processes of preparation of exhibition projects in Ukraine are analyzed as a separate phenomenon of culture in the evolution of exhibition practice. Studies of the creation of group art projects will examine the transformation of modern Ukrainian art and interpret it, and contribute to delivering its wide audience and, accordingly, will enter into a social context that is essential for its functioning. The publication also deals with the issues of exhibiting works of contemporary art, the influence of public context on the aesthetic value of works and the problem of interaction of the artist with the public

    Authors: Anna Luhovska;

    At the beginning of the third decade of the 21st century, we see an increase in the activity of art institutions in Ukraine.We are already accustomed to their large number and to their diversity. However, talking about independent institutions, it should be remarked that they did not exist at all until recent times (late 1980s and early 1990s). The pioneer in this field was CCA (Center of the contemporary art) “Soviart” — the first independent art institution in Ukraine (which from its emersion worked on the completely new, western model) that greatly influenced the formation and further development of contemporary art in our country. The article thoroughlyanalyzes its activities, examines the experience of exhibitions, art festivals and artistic projects both in Ukraine and abroad. It explores theexamples of successful international cooperation, collaboration with other institutions and embassies, which has change to foster cultural dialogue with other countries. Analyzing CCA “Soviart”, we can observe the circumstances under which non-state art institutions wereborn as a result of the collapse of the USSR and gaining of independence in Ukraine. The article helps to understand the processes that became crucial for the contemporary art in Ukraine, especially on the examples of first art fairs and festivals. It gives the understanding thatthe era of total financial support from the government and state budget was over and the alternative ways for successful functioning (such as involvement of investors and grant programs) should be found. After all, an art institution is not just walls, it is about people, who create conditions (art projects, exhibitions, festivals, research), which is a powerful stimulus for the emergence of a cultural product and thesuccessful development of culture in general.

    Authors: Ruslana Bezuhla;

    Authors: azarova yulia;

    Authors: Anna Luhovska;
